Re: Tom Holland's Uncharted Movie Looking Like a Box Office Hit

JeongersGaming

@Porco those numbers are good for a domestic opening weekend, especially when it was projected to make $30 million. Provided it has any legs, it should be on it's way to a $300 million international box office at least.

I don't think the 10 year pre-production really adds as much to the cost as you're suggesting either. I don't think things ever went any further than some script drafts, and I'd be surprised if any of the previous directors and actors got paid for work that they never did.

Re: PS Plus PS5, PS4 Games for February 2022 Announced

JeongersGaming

@riceNpea It's a DLC for a game that was already given to Plus members in 2019. They've effectively given us the same thing twice. Decent I suppose if you didn't claim the Handsome Jack Collection back then, but it's easily one of the weakest offerings in a while right next to the Godfall half-game.

@Bleachedsmiles
>having pc like options in console games is great

Well, yeah actually I would say so unironically. I think if we didn't get this trend of performance settings, we'd still be seeing 30fps in the majority of games. And it's usually only a few presets that have still been optimised to make good use of the specs within the target of each mode. Not like they're giving us a whole page of individual settings to tweak like on PC, now that would be annoying.

Re: Microsoft Buys Call of Duty Publisher Activision Blizzard

JeongersGaming

@naruball Yeah, Microsoft love to play dirty. Looking at how they conquered the PC market back in the day, they're different from other competition. If they get spooked, they go ballistic. Only reason it took this long for them to be like this with the Xbox division is the wider corporation didn't take it as seriously. Now they know how big gaming can be, they're pulling their weight.

Re: Hands On: God of War PC Is a Great Way to Play a PS4 Classic

JeongersGaming

Quite frankly, as someone who has been a PC gamer in the past and even had it as my main platform from like 2014-2019... I don't care. I mean, I don't care about the PC anymore. It has it's benefits, but I've ended up coming back to consoles primarily, especially with the current market for components still being a nightmare.

I think most people outside of the hardcore bubble don't really care either if you can play PlayStation Games on PC. There was much gloom over Microsoft's decision to put all if their 1st party on PC day and date, and I was one of them, but we can see that the Xbox consoles have been doing just fine. Series S and X are apparently only a few million behind PS5, they're in a better state than this same time last gen, despite the hardcore consensus being "there's no reason to buy an Xbox anymore, all of their games are on Steam anyway."

Oh and BTW, seeing Xbox button prompts in God of War is bizarre lol.

Re: One of Spidey's Moves in Spider-Man: No Way Home Is Taken Directly from the PS4 Game

JeongersGaming

@thor5656 Well the big difference is Spider-Man 2 had to introduce it's villain and his motivations. No Way Home's villains are all from previous movies, so that job has already been done. We've already seen Alfred Molina and Willem Dafoe become Doc Ock and Green Goblin, so that gives the film a lot of extra space in the runtime to accommodate all 5 villains, plus the 3 Spider-Men.
