Re: Hardware Review: BenQ Mobiuz EX3210U - A Vivid, Fully-Fledged HDR Gaming Monitor

JeongersGaming

I've actually been eyeing this monitor, well more specifically the 27 inch version which seems to be the same aside from the smaller panel. The inclusion of a remote is a top class inclusion, I've always hated fiddling with the buttons on monitors. It being one of the few monitors with decent HDR (I don't even bother with the implementation on my current one) and that the PS5 plays supports it for VRR is great too, since that's oddly spotty compared to Xbox. I'm just waiting to see how the price drops in the coming months if at all, since it is a bit pricey as stated here. Ideally for the price I'd rather cough up a bit more for an OLED but that's not practical for my current accommodation.

Re: Ubisoft Shares Early Splinter Cell PS5 Remake Concept Art

I'm getting the itch to replay the originals. They'll be at the top of my list whenever I end up getting a Series S.

@RogerRoger Instantly clocked those two as well. Been a long time since I played the original, but those parts were clearly very memorable to me.

I'm interested to see what parts stay the same and what changes. There's that whole updated for a modern audience quote, best case scenario is just that it's more or less the same story but now the events take place in 2024 and not 2004.

Re: Sonic Throws Hands at Lightning Speed in High-Energy Frontiers Trailer

JeongersGaming

@RogerRoger People keep clinging to this idea that Frontiers is doomed because of it releasing close to Ragnarok which is silly to me. Very different games, and there's nothing new about multiple big games releasing close to eachother and not being affected.

Didn't Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing come out on the same day? There were memes about it, both did well. If Frontiers fails it has nowt to do with Kratos.

Re: Persona Fans on PlayStation Get Sold Short Again as Xbox Deal Reveals Native Ports

JeongersGaming

This is a total nothing burger. The PS4 version will run at 4K 60fps locked on a PS5, just like the Series X. We're talking about a PSP and a Vita game here.

@belmont That's true but in the case of P3 and P4, the loading times were already mere seconds at most on their original platforms, a native PS5 version will not provide any improvement beyond the PS4 version since there's not really anything to improve.

@Juanalf 3 seconds faster? You won't even get that. I can bet it'll be the same speed running the PS4 version on a PS5 compared to Series X. Millisecond difference at worst.

@Mauzuri This won't be close to the same as Trails. The PS4 and Series X versions will both run the same, the PS5 home screen just won't have a little PS5 icon next to the game's title.

@rachetmarvel precisely, huge overreaction on this case. What benefits would a native PS5 version provide? Haptic triggers? Where would that even come into play for these games?

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium PS5, PS4 Games for October 2022 Announced

JeongersGaming

@Kang81 Yeah over the years Sony has done a poor job of cultivating their first party output, or not doing a good job promoting it if it isn't already big. They've been comfortable to lean on the third party support, just look at how they stopped bothering making their own shooters once they got the CoD marketing deal (and how that's bit them in the ass based on their panicking at the Xbox buyout).

They need to embrace that variety of games they used to have, try and build up a reputation similar to Nintendo's first party. People buy Nintendo consoles primarily for Nintendo games with everything else being a bonus. While I don't think Sony can get to quite that level (not short term at least), they can do a whole lot better than what they're doing currently.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium PS5, PS4 Games for October 2022 Announced

@Robocod They really have been missing a trick by not embracing their classic IP more. They've seemingly given up on a lot. Especially some of their more family friendly franchises, there's less variety from 1st party these days it seems.

They dropped Sly 4 with little fanfare for it to underperform then dropped the series entirely seemingly as one example. I reckon PS4 ports would have generated renewed interest for a 5th game.

Re: PS5 Exclusives Will Take at Least One Year to Launch on PC

JeongersGaming

@truerbluer also pre ordering gets you the extra costumes that are only available on the PS5 digital deluxe edition, which is £79.99(!?!?). As far as I'm aware, there isn't an upgrade path for people who bought the base version either.

I think some of these games are due for price drops on console soon. Sony aren't Nintendo, and they can't get away with their games staying full price forever.

Re: Sony Will Continue to Make PS4 Games Moving Forwards

JeongersGaming

@Shepherd_Tallon Yeah. It's unfortunate that we're still clinging to almost decade old hardware at this point, but I think people forget the impact of the supply chain and covid. Jim Ryan was talking about how he wanted to make the transition from PS4 to PS5 a quick one, and have most users upgrade faster than before, but that just hasn't been possible. With that, plans need to change, and PS4 support needs to be extended.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster for PS5 Reportedly in Development

JeongersGaming

>apparently, they're so good that it's unclear whether this will be pitched as a remaster or a remake

This doesn't really follow much with the idea that it's going to bring it in line with Forbidden West. Sounds like it'll be better than it, which would actually make it an inferior way to play because when you start the sequel you'll be getting a downgraded experience.

The Last of Us Part 1 has this issue being a native PS5 game compared to Part 2 being PS4 (even with the 60fps patch on PS5, Part 1 is still the technically superior game).

A basic remaster like the GoT Director's Cut from last year would be fine on the other hand. Take what was already implemented with Game Boost patches, raise the resolution a bit, add the gyro aiming and accessibility features from FW, add in the PS5 game only features like Dualsense and let people who already own it pay a £10 upgrade if they want it.

Re: Silent Hill: The Short Message Gets an Age Rating, Likely a New Game

JeongersGaming

SoUnDs LiKe a MoBiLe GaMe!!!

The rating specifically mentions it's for consoles. Plus we have the leaked screenshots. Plus Christophe Gans, director of the first Silent Hill film, is shooting a third one next February, and he outright confirmed Konami are planning a relaunch of the franchise.

Metal Gear is next. The MGSV team has been cooking something up since Survive released.
