Basically, yes, you can use a HDD, but the desired experience that Insomniac desires for this game requires a SSD.
It’s like, many different games could be downgraded to work on worse hardware, but that’s not what its creators actually want or envisioned, but they have to do what their bosses say. R&C could probably be downgraded to work on a PS3, but it’s technically not the actual vision of the game.
All these companies should just quit making new games and just start doing full remakes from their PS3 libraries until they get to this point and then just start again 🤪.
@Tharsman I’m expecting companies to circle back to traditional multiplayer games that are GaaS. It will be traditional small/medium maps with TDM, CtF, and Capture Zone modes and they will release free new maps and modes over time while supporting a store and battlepass.
They will abandon multiplayer with big maps of battle royale and extraction. I believe a traditional route may be easier for them.
I only bought a Series X last year due to how PlayStation has been handled in recent years.
I’m glad I own both a PS5 and Xbox, because I think both ecosystems are pretty damn weak compared to their previous generations, and by owning both, I can good a great game here and there.
No krypt makes me think even more that this game was supposed to be Injustice 3 and they changed it to Mortal Kombat a couple years ago and the Krypt was just something else that could be cut.
I sure as hell won’t be in a hurry to get the next systems that release.
The PS5 has been a joke in comparison to all previous consoles. Don’t come at me with sell it then. I bought a PS5 day 1 based off of previous experiences, and expected similar experiences but it definitely hasn’t felt that way, so I’ll correct course when the PS6 launches. Unless, they really really sell me on it. I bought numerous systems for years day one, but going forward, they are going to have to really sell me on it.
I think the PS5 will crossgen into the PS6 gen longer than we’ve currently experienced and Sony will not push the limits of their games anymore to ensure that the games work easily across multiple platforms, especially PC.
@PSfan4Life22 I was specifically talking about PlayStation first party true PS5 titles that push the tech, not cross-gen titles or third party titles. I should have made that clear.
When it comes to actual high caliber PS5 titles, the wait continues.
Greatness awaits and waits and waits. I’m hearing all these people say stay positive, be patient and PlayStation will deliver are really starting to resemble many Xbox fans that say, next year will be, THE year.
Before I even read your article I thought that much of that trailer looked fake. There was too many animations that don’t exist in games like Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring and many others.
I’m not saying it isn’t possible, but those animations looked like qte or situational loaded animations. Like hitting square in one instance will do a three strike combo with the sword, but then next time it blends in a kick, it’s based on positioning.
Though, we have seen a few fantastic Chinese games in the last five years and none have released so far. So, keep expectations low.
I despise Bungie’s model and knew it would work out badly for us.
Bungie model:
Expensive game with limited content
Season Pass
Battlepass
Expensive Add-in’s
Removes content after you’ve paid for it.
And to go with all that crap, they push a store.
I despise the direction Sony is going.
Take note, Bungie didn’t like ND’s direction.
Bungie is the worst of old and new capitalism all rolled into one.
The big question I haven’t seen publications ask is; Even though these GaaS games have been shutting down rather quickly, are they turning a profit? If so, these companies will not care. They may be heading toward the direction of quick output for a quick cash-in. I’m pretty sure Ubisoft said that Hyperscape was a huge success for them even though they shut it down quickly. The success of these games may not be based on how long they live, but if they can turn a quick profit. If so, these companies will continue throwing crap at the wall.
Sony Bend is the AAA team that released a game longest ago compared to all of the other AAA Sony studios and should have something ready to release very soon based on dev time.
It was a 4/10 at best for me. I NEVER imagined it would be this bad after waiting so long. No Factions, Twisted Metal, Wolverine, Sony Bend game, Ghost of Tsushima 2, etc. I usually don’t bash these shows, but man that was garbage.
I miss the days of Uncharted, TLoU, Infamous, Resistance, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm, The Puppeteer, Sly Cooper, Twisted Metal. Todays show was so damn aggravating.
It was a 4/10 at best for me. I NEVER imagined it would be this bad after waiting so long. No Factions, Twisted Metal, Wolverine, Sony Bend game, Ghost of Tsushima 2, etc. I usually don’t bash these shows, but man that was garbage.
Sheesh, I figured it shouldn’t be at least three bare minimum.
Hey, you guys remember a few years back when they said live service wouldn’t effect their singleplayer output? Then, many people said these live service games will only lead to more singleplayer games……. That was all stupid as hell. Who wants to own up to it?
@OrtadragoonX Uncharted could be completely rebooted telling an entirely different story, with different cast, in a different decade or century. I see the Uncharted universe as bigger than Nathan Drake. I see Uncharted like the MCU, Nathan is in its universe, but there are other stories to tell, there are other adventures to be had.
For whatever reason, I’m not really that hyped. I expect to be disappointed. It feels like there is no way they can get me hyped after being quiet for so long. They’ve annoyed me too much over the past 3 years.
I hope I’m wrong though.
I would love an Uncharted game with a brand new everything. Uncharted is bigger than Nathan and his friends and family. It could take place in a different decade or century.
I’d love for Motorstorm to return, even though it would be with a different team. Sony shutting down evolution pissed me off.
I could write a book on what I hope they have at that show and how they’ve dissatisfied me, but it is what it is.
I don’t care about a raise in price because I only purchase games when I really want them.
For example, if the new Dead Space game was 70$, I’m only interested in it on sale. So, they could charge 200$ and it wouldn’t bother me. If 70$ is a deal breaker for you, wait for a sale.
@nyXhc420 I wish I would’ve got it for 40$, I paid 70$. That’s why I remember because it really stood out to me. I remember it being slightly more expensive than other games I bought at that time.
@Realist Im with you. Cinematic’s do NOTHING for me now if there isn’t some gameplay here and there. Most time when I see a new game trailer I immediately skip to the gameplay to see if it’s for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love stories, but I need to see gameplay.
@Blofse It’s always funny to me to see people complain about a 70$ price tag today when I remember buying MK2 for the SNES at Kmart for 69.99$ back in the 90s.
@nomither6 If the project sucked and was in poor condition and wasn’t likely to be improved without bringing in another team and burning more cash, why would they want to do that?
This easily COULD be the best decision but considering you and I DONT know that state of the project, we can’t make an accurate statement.
With that said, there is no reason to bash Sony in this instance since again, you don’t know that state of things.

@Rmg0731 That is 100% the goal they are shooting for.
Re: Sony Is Increasing R&D Costs to Fuel Live Service Games, Report Claims
I’m calling that within ten years, PlayStation’s output of singleplayer games will be reduced by a 1/3.
Re: Reaction: What Happens to PlayStation if Microsoft Buys Activision Blizzard?
GamePass’s future will be Redfall quality.
Re: Sony Wants More PS5 Exclusives from South Korea
Lol, I want some PS5 exclusives from Sony in general.

Re: Quitality's Return to Punish Cowardly Mortal Kombat 1 Players
@MattBoothDev If a person leaves, I would think they don’t see the animation. That’s just for the winner.

Re: Rumour: Bungie Wants Marathon on PS5 to Be the Ultimate Live Service Game
I could not be less excited or interested.
Though, all these companies must be making money off this crap because they keep churning them out.
Before someone states this is first game like this from Bungie, I’m aware. I’m saying all companies are chasing the GaaS trend.
I miss how gaming was during the PS3/360 era.
Re: Fans Think GTA 6's Imminent Reveal Is Being Teased in GTA Online
I quit playing years ago hoping the game would die. Getting only one new game from Rockstar in ten years is ridiculous.
Re: Final Fantasy 16's Demo Has Been a Huge Hit With PS5 Players
I’ve never been a FF fan, but I really liked the FF16 demo and plan on playing it within a couple months.
Re: Sorry, But Games Are Probably Going to Take Longer Than Ever to Make on PS5
These 5-10 year dev cycles really suck.
I would much rather go back to 12-15 hour fantastic experiences that takes 2-4 years to create, even if graphics have to take a hit.
This 1 game a generation sucks.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Is Coming to PS5 Soon, But Injustice 3 Isn't Out of the Question
Mortal Kombat 1 looks like they started Injustice 3, the WB sales concern happened, they switched the game to MK to be safe.
MK1 is giving off Injustice vibes.

Honestly, they’ll likely have a battlepass.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1's Breathtaking First PS5 Footage Stains Summer Game Fest
@dark_knightmare2 Nope, not trolling, the characters faces and bodies look uncanny and somewhat plastic.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1's Breathtaking First PS5 Footage Stains Summer Game Fest
@dark_knightmare2 I’ve played MK 11 recently, this looks worse.
Though, some may prefer it looking like a high end mobile game with a dash of Fortnite.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Director Ed Boon Can't Wait for You to See First PS5 Gameplay This Week
Man, there isn’t many fans in the comments. I’ve really enjoyed the recent MK games and can’t wait for this one.
