Yeah, that seems like something Jim Ryan’s Sony would do.

I figured it would similar to how Deathloop did. I’m looking forward to playing it on GamePass.

Quality+HFR+VRR at 40fps for me 🙂.

Unless these companies lock games out without a day one patch THIS WILL NEVER STOP.

I think they should just go ahead and start remastering or remaking God of War Ragnaroc.

The PS5’s SSD will probably do away with older world building techniques when Sony starts creating ACTUAL PS5 games.

I have 0 desire to play as Ellie or Abby again. If they want to do a new story with new characters and location, fine. Otherwise, I will probably skip it until it’s dirt cheap.

Gameplay, world building, animation and AI come first to me. If that requires 30fps, so be it.

I do prefer 60fps though.

It’s a great creator experience but a mediocre game.

All the “games” in it are low phone game quality.

Every game made going forward will be created factoring in lower tier pc tech, like HDDs. The PS5 will NEVER be fully utilized.

I think about this when I see people say that if Microsoft gets Activision they won’t make them go exclusive.

Regardless of any of this being true or false, I sure am tired of Sony’s damn silence about what their first party studios are working on and their expected release windows. I miss when they were more open.

@Agramonte Weaker hardware does effect world building, animation and AI. Just look at forced walking, crawling, squeezing and elevator sections for an example.

I can’t wait to hear about some Sony games coming to the PS5.

Im ready for all the big talk from developers to finally pay off. It feels like I’ve been hearing all these grand ideas for about a decade now and in the history of games I’ve never been less wowed. I’m not trying to be negative, I’m just tired of these companies trying to sell to me.

For example, I’ve heard numerous times from the PS4 on about how development is faster and easier than it’s ever been yet that’s not the result we have received.

Whatever NetherRealm is working on is my most anticipated game but it’s very disappointing to have no idea what they are working on or a possible release window.

Yes, Im aware of the rumors of it being MK12, but the NR silence is very aggravating at this point.

@sjbsixpack Games having to work on a PS4 have an effect on world building, animation and AI. Don’t think otherwise. The PS4 hinders the PS5.

I’ve been enjoying it. I’ve been playing co-op with one of my kids. I talked to a dev last night on Twitter and he said that soon the flashlight with be getting improved to work better with the dark graphics settings. Currently, dark looks good but the flashlight is too weak. He also said they will be adjusting the normal and gritty colors as well, or at least with one of them.

The amount of negativity people have with this game boggles my mind. I think it’s probably a Days Gone situation again.

@4kgk2 Yeah, and TLoU already got remastered before it was updated again. Sony plans on doing a GoT show, so there is a good chance they would want some new GoT game media to go with it.

@4kgk2 They could remaster Killzone Shadows Fall, Infamous Second Son, Bloodborne, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, TLoU2, Dreams, Days Gone, pretty much every single PS4 game they released.

You can say it’s unlikely but I sure as hell never imagined they would have done the amount of remasters and remakes they’ve already done, so, it’s definitely possible.

@Vil If Sony is actually remastering Horizon you better believe that remasters are going to make up so many of these upcoming singleplayer games that Sony assures us they are invested in.

@Ken_Kaniff I love singleplayer games, but I really enjoy multiplayer games as well. I enjoy playing them with my kids and my buddies. I’ve loved playing Borderlands 3 and Dying Light 2 with my kids recently for example. A big issue I currently have with multiple games, is that even though I have quite a bit of time to game, I don’t have time for all these battlepasses. I play games with my family more than we watch tv, but these battlepasses just require too much time. Granted, that’s a me problem. I usually play Fortnite with my kids, but so far, I’m skipping this season.

I’ve heard they are lying about the DDOS attack just to get people on their side. The claim is they’ve just done a bad job transitioning everything over and claiming this helps them to save face.

This info could be wrong as well. Considering we’ll never truly know the truth, it is what it is and I don’t really care.

@Dezzy70 Basically with Sony pushing into the PC market you need to just forget about true PS5 games. They want that PC money and realize a majority of PC owners still utilize a HDD and will force their own developers to create games that work well with HDDs.

So, bare minimum expect this to effect world building. Forced walking, crawling, squeezing, elevators, and the use of certain large backdrops to hide load screens will continue to be used. It’s going to be a long time before you actually see a “true PS5” game going forward. It will probably be sometime into the PS6’s life cycle.

You look through my history on here and you’ll see I’ve been very displeased with Sony’s direction versus their history.

I sure as hell will NOT be buying a PS6 day 1 like i did every single past PlayStation console.

@jrt87 Hell, I’ve haven’t owned an Xbox since the 360, but I recently bought a Series X and Steamdeck because of my displeasure of Sony’s current path.

Again, I haven’t felt the need to get another system in over a decade…. but the current Sony pushed me towards them. I even owned the PSP and Vita, now, a Steamdeck.

Sony is annoying the absolute hell out of me.

Some people love to bash the PS3 but I think that’s when they were at their absolute best.

Do you remember when they introduced a brand new series called Uncharted, or Resistance, or Infamous, or Little Big Planet, or Motorstorm, or a game called TLoU, or Puppeteer, and others I just can’t remember right now?

I despise how far Sony has fallen while many people still praise how great they are. I hope Microsoft can actually start delivering good games next year from all those purchases and give Sony a swift kick in the ass.

Man, I sure do miss how I felt about Sony from 1994-2018.

Sony sure is losing me as fan with the business path it’s taken in the last 4 years.

They aren’t even recognizable as the company that made me love the PS1-3.

The best we can hope for is that the best devs aren’t wasting their talent on this like Naughty Dog did.

@Deformedpye I’m thinking this is a co-op DLC where you can play as Silens and the other guy as they both have their own tools and combat styles, or a solo Silens dlc side story dlc.

Slightly off topic but Plague Tale Requiem was the final push for me to get an Xbox for GamePass. I planned on getting a Series X next summer but saw that this game was coming day one to GP so I decided to go ahead and buy one. I planned on buying it for my PS5 but figured I might as well go ahead and pick a Xbox. So, GP in a way will really start paying for itself once this releases. Granted, I’ve enjoyed the Xbox games I’ve missed as well. The last Xbox I owned was the 360, so I have some catching up to do.

Just a general fyi, I still play my PS5 daily.

Im not being sarcastic; it feels like PC gets way more action from Sony than the PS5 does. Other than the VR2, it feels like a majority of PlayStation news is PC focused.

So, doubling the requirements to level up at this point only punishes new players and makes it that much harder to play without upgrades for a longer period of time……. great idea.

For those that don’t know, characters have specific move upgrades that are locked to later levels. So, this means new players will be handicapped for a longer period of time.

I was fine with the original games length. As long as a game is good I don’t care if it’s short.

I rather play a fantastic 5 hour game than a mediocre 40 hour game.

Can we switch characters during a play through or is it one at a time?

Most times the games that do different perspectives as a big deal typically only have minor differences from each other. So, I can see myself possibly playing through more than once if you can only do one character at a time, otherwise I’ll probably just beat it once.

@KaijuKaiser What games are Sony releasing in the next six months? I know GoW2 is one.

Unless they have a ton out of the blue games I just don’t see it happening this year now. There has been quite a bit of PlayStation news that would have been suitable for a show but they’ve released it in small YouTube trailers.

I see a state of play next month though just to highlight GoW2 some more.

I’m not happy with that news. It sounds like they are already ignoring it.

Well, that was more tame than Mortal Kombat and kinda similar that the Witcher.

It shouldn’t happen but I hope Sony keeps moving toward a simultaneous release for their game releases for PlayStation and PC.

I hope the PS5 is the last PlayStation I had to buy. It would be nice to just buy a PC and be done with it.

PlayStation for well over a decade has been enough for me not including a Nintendo, but recently, with Sony focusing more and more on things that don’t interest me, I’ve bought a Series X and Steamdeck to fill in the gap. Not to mention it takes so much more time for games to release and then that gap is even longer when they release games I don’t really care about like TLoU Remake.

@riceNpea The big difference here is that not all characters are exactly the same, like in Fortnite. So, it’s pay to win. If it was just cosmetics, it would be fine.

I see myself trying this game for a few hours and then noping out.

@theMEGAniggle Some of the videos have time stamps from 2017, 18, 19, and 21.

Some them also contain info about it running on a PS4 dev kit, and various computer GPU’s, like the 2080.

It all depends on which ever leaked footage you watch.

Also, all these appear to be stolen from a corporate site called Slack I believe. I can’t remember exactly, I read that a few hours ago.

@pharos_haven I thought the game was very good overall including its multiplayer. I really enjoyed my time with it and still don’t regret buying it day one.

I enjoyed the world, the story, the characters and it’s voice actors, the gameplay, and the idea of what they were trying to achieve overall. I play the multiplayer a ton with my kids before I took a run at beating it. So, I got real familiar with the levels. I loved how they changed depending on what part of the day you visited them.

The only negative I had was that when it all came down to it, there was only one way to beat it when it seems like there would be multiple ways to do it.

One last note; the multiplayer is another side to the game’s story.
