@Nunab18 I think they both have English support. But yeah, the NA version might be easier. Right now Play-Asia has the JP version for cheaper than the NA version, but I could try Amazon or somewhere else. I might be going on a trip to Japan this year. If I do, then it'll be easy to get the JP version! 😆

I'll be getting a PS4 copy from Japan, as Sega aren't releasing it physically here.

@johnedwin I am these days, yeah. Grew up on Sony, but they only seem interested in making hyper realistic misery simulators and chasing lootbox trends nowadays.

Outside of Astro Bot, Sony simply don't make games I'm interested in anymore. And until that changes, there's no point in buying any more of their consoles.

Sony are simply scum now. Just like the other shareholder-run "AAA" 3rd parties that shut down multiple studios because they made one less than perfect game. They've shut down so many studios. Countless jobs lost because some idiot at the top made terrible decisions, and now the workers pay the price. I won't be supporting this company anymore. They do not take care of their employees or customers.

Having an optional disc drive you can swap out is a fantastic idea, but not for £100. Sony's prices are taking full advantage of the customer at every opportunity.

American censorship has been ruining games for years. We often get the same censored versions in Europe too, even though we'd have no problem with the content here.

I'm very used to playing on a PlayStation or Nintendo controller (I grew up with them), but I always have to think for a second if I'm playing with my Xbox controller on PC.

Most physical copies still work without internet. If a disc requires the internet to function, then don't buy it. It's quite simple. Most Nintendo Switch cartridges read from the cartridge without the need for internet. If it's one of those that requires a download, I just ignore the game. There aren't as many games that are simply digital keys as people think.

Sony really are a scumbag company these days. Increasing the price of literally everything they think they can get away with. No goodwill left at all.

If "PCs are difficult to set up" is the best argument you can come up with for people to buy your console, then that's not a good sales pitch.

Sony always won before by offering unique, fun games with an affordable console. But now they've totally lost me this gen. I'd need to spend around £500 just to essentially play PS4 games with better performance. My PS4 was £250. The PS5 is simply not worth double the price.

Apart from Astro Bot, Sony simply don't publish games I'm interested in anymore. I'm not buying a PS5 just for Astro, and the 3rd parties are still releasing their games on PS4, so Sony have lost me as a customer, after owning and loving PS1-4. Plus their scumbag practices of closing down their studios and laying off hundreds of employees, whilst recording record profits, hasn't exactly helped them to ingratiate themselves with me.

Is the 3rd game, releasing this September in Japan, going to be the last game in the current arc? I've held off buying Daybreak so far, because I want to ensure the full arc comes to PS4 first.

Just a small correction to the article. The Wii and Wii U eShops were different. The Wii eShop closed in 2019 and the Wii U eShop closed last year.

I can't believe we've got to a point where changing a disc is too much hassle for some people.

It can't be installed without an internet connection. So I'm not even looking into it.

@LowDefAl I think you're confusing "subjectively" with "objectively" here. I love the Xbox controller's rolling d-pad. It reminds me of the d-pads on Sega Mega Drive and Saturn controllers. Makes playing something like the original Streets of Rage trilogy (especially 3) much better. The PS4's d-pad is pretty damn great too, mind you. It's just Nintendo's d-pads that are absolutely abysmal right now.

Don't buy anything from T2. They're a greedy, scumbag company who fire employees to maje their shareholders a quick buck, and treat players like utter garbage.

The poll is too simplistic. It depends on genre, and how skilled I am at it. For example, I know I'd be awful at, and get frustrated by, FtomSoftware games, but I absolutely love Hollow Knight. It's a deliberately difficult game, however I'm much better at 2D Metroidvanias than parrying and blocking in 3D environments. So I can't really answer your poll.
