Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite PS5 Roguelike Games

Titntin

Not a rogue like fan normally, but Returnal!
So good I played 90 hours and never got passed level 3 boss. Thats stupid old man reactions, but the fact I spent so long attempting to get further, tells you how much I enjoyed trying!

Re: Sony Appears to Be Dabbling with Written User Reviews on the PS Store

Titntin

@Ainu20 15 minutes would not even get you to the game in many titles, so as a time, thats simply not achieving what we all want - posts by people who have actually played the game.

To allow for short games, maybe the time should be set at 10% of the expected completion time, which publishers will need to provide with the titles submission?
A 50 hour title will therefore rightly require 5 hours or more, but a little 2 hour title might only need 12 minutes or so.
This seems fair to me. What do you think?

Re: Sony Appears to Be Dabbling with Written User Reviews on the PS Store

Titntin

Seeing as how play time is already monitored, they could easilly reserve reviews to those that have genuinely put some hours in.

As long as they do the above, Im all for it. Some people will always be idiots, but the majority tend to want to be helpful and leave their genuine experiences, and that can only be helpful for anyone navigating that huge minefield of titles..

Re: Reaction: PS5 Needs a Price Cut

Titntin

I don't think this piece makes any kind of sense. Its selling very well and reducing prices simply means pressure elsewhere to raise them.
You cut prices if you can't sell or you find ways of reducing production costs.

Re: Preview: There's Nothing Super About Marvel Rivals on PS5

Titntin

I don't really have a horse in this race as I absolutely hate this style of game and wont play any of them.
But reading the constant conspiracies and shouts of 'unfair' every time a reviewer has an opinion here is pretty disappointing and says a lot about the kind of people this site has attracted to its comments sections.

Re: Sample Rise of the Ronin in New PS5 Demo Available Now

Titntin

Fantastic! I really want to play this, a demo might move it up the list a bit.
I hated the way everyone wrote this off and few seemed to give it much of a chance - but that seems to just be the way gaming has gone. I'm hoping VRR will help smooth the experience

Re: Amazon Prime Day 2024 - Best Deals on PS5 and PS4 Games, Controllers, SSDs, 4K TVs, and More

Titntin

Just my opinion, but these deals are rubbish. Amazon regularly sell these items for lower - they were selling ps5 controllers for under £50 quite recently for example (i picked up a blue one).
As for their 'fire series' of products, they are almost always at half price.....

Its clear to me that this is just a stunt to try and get more people to sign up. I'm on prime anyway and see prices far lower than this every day.

Re: Legendary Shmup Series Raiden Will Be Reborn As a Twin-Stick Shooter on PS5, PS4

Titntin

Saw 'Raiden' and I cheered. Saw 'Twin Stick' and I booed.

The original Raiden games are all excellent examples of good shoot em ups - no mind melding 'bullet hell' nonsense, just good well crafted examples of their genre.
Whilst this Raiden inspired game may end up having charms of its own, it's not Raiden to me, or I suspect to anyone who has enjoyed the series in the past.

Re: 13 New Games Land on PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week

Titntin

Good list, I think these are good additions. Just as well as I thought the PS plus freebies this month were awful, so this is balanced and I'm happier with this selection now we can see the total offering for this month..
Shame I bought Crisis Core last month, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles! If you are a FF fan, just dive in, its great.

Jean D'arc was great on the PSP, and so was Ratchet. Happy to be in premium..

Re: CYGNI: All Guns Blazing Set to Light a Fire Under Shoot-Em-Ups on PS5

Titntin

Very cool for me - I'm in. I'm not the biggest fan of bullet hell designs, preferring the older style of play, but I've had some fun with bullet hells too!
Agree with Kidfunkadelic83 - the skyforce games are excellent and the 'Rogue like' elements of it keep you interested in coming back for more - highly recommended..

Re: Talking Point: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2024 So Far?

Titntin

I loved my time with Rebirth, even if I uninstalled it in a huff once I had to win the chocoboo gold cup....
It was an easy pick as Ive not played the most likely other contenders like Steller Blade yet - waiting for a sale price 👍

Infinate wealth is another contender, and its on sale right now, so its time to add it to the backlog.
Its really been a fantastic year already imo.

Re: Concord Dev Confirms Monetisation Through Cosmetics Only

Titntin

This is exactly what you should expect. Hats off to Sony for at least not over monetising their multiplayer games - in contrast with almost every other publisher.
No idea if this will be worth playing, but some people I trust who have played it now are stating the gameplay is really good, so I hope some people like it.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2024 Announced

Titntin

@BeerIsAwesome Thats OK mate, I kinda thought it was justified
I should recalibrate my world view a bit in light of all the decades that have passed since I was young and developed my views of the world! its clear the sport is nowhere near as 'niche' as I had thought, and I can see from the comments that many people fancy giving it a try, so I guess its not such an awful title to add, even if it doesn't appeal to me.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2024 Announced

Titntin

@TrickyDicky99 'Defending sony,' lol!
I've generally found the games on PS plus to be reasonable and stated so. I think they are getting worse and think this is the worst of the months - and again I've stated so.
Only fools think that gaming is some kind of war where people are on the attack or defense and Sony certainly don't need any defence from me or anyone else.
I comment on what I see, what I like, and what I don't. I'm not so deluded as to think my opinion matters in any way and it certainly won't shape what Sony does. If I don't like it I can either wait for a better month or cancel my sub, but my reaction will not shape anyone else's opinion and nor should it.
We are discussing a hobby, not on the front line..

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2024 Announced

Titntin

I normally defend Sony, but they are not even trying any more.
Among us is is a £3 game.
Borderlands 3 has already been on PS plus extra and could be bought for £9.
Can't stand american sports of any flavour and hockey is the worst. Including a game of such niche appeal is sticking 2 fingers up at the 80% of us who would never go near it.

Where is the increase in quality that they used to justify the price rises?
Truly awful.... maybe the moaners have it right and I've had blinkers on?

Re: Silly Speculation Alleges Sony May Have Signed Secret PS5 Exclusivity for Black Myth: Wukong

Titntin

You only buy exclusivity as a marketing point to push your platform. With no Sony marketing of the game and it not even showing up in their SOP, that's very clearly not the case.

That fervent Xbots wish to blame Sony for everything should hardly be a surprise right now, anything to deflect from the fact it's their own team giving the brand the biggest kicking.

Just silly internet bitching...

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree?

Titntin

I havent played a game like it for over a decade, but I took a look at Anno 1800 a few days back and Ive have late nights since!
Ive also got the latest WRC game (codemasters/EA) cheap in a sale, and Im really enjoying it - so much content!

Whatever you are playing, have a great weekend...

Re: Over 1,600 Must-Play PS5, PS4 Games Discounted on PS Store

Titntin

The deals have been great this year.
Just picked up wrc by codemasters for £20. Its less than 8 months old and is a very high recommendation if you like rally driving!
At the other end of the driving scale, Ive also picked up 'Taxi - city life'. Driving carefully around Barcelona is so relaxing..

Its worth remembering to buy your psn credit cheaply too. Best deal atm seems to be £50 credit for £42. An extra 16% discount for a few taps of a keyboard or tablet shouldnt be ignored..

Re: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (PS5) - Combat-Heavy RPG Gets a Major Overhaul

Titntin

@Tecinthebrain

" it means they keep their readers on their toes 😁"
I guess you could interpret it that way!

Or you could state " there is no consistency to any of their reviews and you need to know the reviewer before you can establish if their review has any meaning to you"

I love Push Square for news and for some of the great people I can often have a decent chat with. It's a very rare day when I agree with one of their reviews, which are far too short, rarely cover all the bases, and vary wildly in their quality compared with there peers.

I read and enjoy it all, but I would suggest you at least look at other reviews before making any purchasing decision based on a Push review - which would be good advice even if they did not vary in quality.

This is a game I've been toying with trying, having not tried it on my switch. I'm a little put off by the views expressed in this review, but I'll look at others before I decide

Re: Poll: Was Summer Game Fest 2024 Great or a Letdown?

Titntin

I enjoyed it. I liked that the format was changed so that smaller devs and studios could get some air time.
I like lego games and I like Horizon, so im up for that title.
Been waiting for Black Wukong for ages, so to get a release date a day before my birthday was great news.

At that point I was happy and didnt need much else from the show, which was probably just as well as it was pretty light on new AAA's, but thats always been these shows, 10% of it will appeal, 90% wont. It was exactly the same with E3.

Re: Video: Is Concord Destined to Fail?

Titntin

Anyone arguing push is not toxic only needs to look here to see how wrong they are.
Its not my kind of game, but if someone like skillup can see reasons to be hopeful in terms of gameplay, then Im happy to give it the benefit of the doubt. I dont trust the views of any of the usual doombots posting in here as they hate and distrust everything. I remember most of the same people writting off Helldivers 2 and we can all see how wrong they were, why would anyone listen to them now?
