Finished it yesterday. Wasnt as polished as I hoped but its in no way a measly four. I had issues that kinda marred the Behemoth battles a bit. I had a bow that kept appearing repeatedly in my hand when trying to climb a Behemoth, was kinda frustrating but I managed. The rope swinging mechanic needs to be looked at as the momentum and positioning doesnt seem to be there. Fighting seems really random... some enemies seem to fall with one slice while some take 10. Sometimes I defeat an enemy and a different enemy 10 feet away will die too. Weird. Still, was really enjoyable and a solid 8. Probably a 9 if they can fix the issues.
Before wasting everyones time, please ask ONE questions on EVERY design choice .. "IS THIS WHAT THE CONSUMER WANTS?" Vita would've had a very different outcome if Sony had asked ... "does the consumer want overpriced, proprietary mem cards" or "does the consumer want to purchase extra buttons to make remote play (a heavily advertised feature) usable.
Yeah right!! That's why they kept it so close to their chest (until they announced they were all but abandoning it), needs an expensive adapter and disables just about all their USPs. Loada crap.
They should really offer the PC adapter for free as a goodwill gesture to early adopters who paid £500+ quid. I love my PSVR2 but Sony pretty much abandoning it after such a short time still stings.
GT7 was great until the "classics" garage and their real world value reared it's ugly head. 1 single car (ie, a tiny dlc car skin) would cost £160 to buy with real money. . . or you could grind for 20+ hours to buy it with in game credit. Unacceptable! Greedy fatcats and their cynical business practices ruined the whole experience for me. Loved playing it, bought a wheel and chair for it but gave up after realising how long it would take to collect all the cars I wanted through grinding. A 10/10 game turned to a 3/10 with one fell swoop. HORIZON, Resi 4/Village and S&S Retribution were my PSVR2 faves.
Resi 4 Remake VR.... really enjoyed the remake but didnt quite adore it ... probably because id just finished Village VR and Resi 4 on Quest 2 which really raised the bar for me. Hard to enjoy flat games as much. Resi 4 Remake is absolutely incredible in VR!! All the gorgeous 4K detail in VR. Not sure why theres a luck of launch reviews/coverage this weekend coz its by far the best game ive played in ages. Stunning!!
Loved the Dig duo. Dont like turn-based games but LOVED SW Heist. Hate deck builders but LOVED SW Quest. Hate city building management but LOVE ..... (fill in the blank). Cant wait to play this day-one on gamepass.
Its a more powerful PS4 with a far superior, ingenious controller. Exactly what I wanted/expected and far cheaper than the PC equivalent. Factor in PSVR2 and PS5 exclusive games like Spidey 2 (how cool is fast travel?) and it easily takes top spot for me.
Why is there no "direct play" functionality like the Vita had where you could connect and play without internet connection. Seems like it would be a no-brainer and easy to incorporate into the system. Id rarely have use for this device anyway but on the odd occasion I do, I would just rely on Steam Deck for both PS5 and Series X remote play.
Watched a Tintin playthrough on Youtube earlier and it looks like a real stinker!!! Was getting irritated just watching the cheap Baldo-esque deaths and dreadful dialogue/voice acting.
Love this game so far. Puzzles can range from decent to ingenious. Playing it on PC and not noticed any bugs at all after couple hours. The production values are really high with great translucent, ghostly characters. Really wish The Invisible Hours looked as good as this. 6 feels a bit low. I came to this for a little creepy experience to get lost in for a few hours and its delivered ... pretty much exactly what I was after.
Turn based games just never clicked with me. From Final Fantasy 6 to Chrono Trigger to Pokemon to Ni No Kuni to Mario Vs Rabbids ... I want to love them but I just dont find the concept of WAITING AND LETTING enemies attack you very compelling. Only one ive really cared for is Steamworld Heist which I adored. Looking at the Baldur's Gate 3 screenshots/trailers really turns me off. I know I wouldnt enjoy it and it looks overwhelming and probably impenetrable for someone like me.
Wasn't impressed at all with PSVR2 upgrade. Still looked really blurry and smeary to me. Played it yesterday and the image is so sharp and crisp now. Great update.
In the minority but I absolutely loved the original. Right up there for me. Loved the lore, characters and open world. 100%ed the main game. Dont think I ever completed all of the genre-mashup DLCs though. Pretty sad remake isnt happening.
I'm loving it. Loved Fallen Order so this was a no brainier. Got it for Series X as I got my EA Play discount. Combined with some discounted Xbox Store credit it cost me £55. Playing in performance mode and any bugs, slowdown and other issues seem to go over my head and I'm 4 hours in. Great so far.
Cross play is a major bonus. This is such a fun game. Absolute blast playing it with my son (or preferably my drunken mates) with two Quest 2s. Adding a third PSVR 2 player would be incredible. Just tried the Upside Down House DLC and it's amazing fun.
Stunning game. Played through it 6 times on PSVR, PCVR and Quest 2. Just HAD to play it again on PSVR2 before starting Retribution and its still sooo compelling and a fantastic place to get lost in. I seem to know where everything is now so 100%ing it only took a few days. Its got that "just one more run" addictive vibe that keeps you up till 3am. Nice that you can transfer your save to Retribution and keep all your items and progress... which does kinda make Chapter Two feel like DLC. Both brilliant games.
Sackboy is a brill multiplayer collect-em-up. Had great fun 100%ing it multiplayer with my son. Just thinking about that "Ripsnorter" still makes me sweat!
The original release of Retribution on Quest 2 was an absolute shocker! Game was in an atrocious state. Glitches everywhere, game breaking bugs, freezes, save file resets, completed missions that hadnt registered, zombies/npcs appearing and disappearing and dreadfullly dated graphics. Deleted it after the secret wine cellar/sewer quest as it just wasnt worth the hassle. Glad theyve sorted it out for PSVR2 and PC. Hope it unlocks at midnight. Cant wait to play it...
Came today (YAY!). Playing Village while Horizon downloads. Great so far. Village looked and played fantastic ... for the 15 minutes I could play before I had to charge the controllers which came with >5% charge. Thrifty Sony saving on their energy bills.
Unit came today. Was shipped with my controller charging dock although the charging dock was "out for delivery" and my PSVR2 unit tracking still says "preparing to be shipped"... if your in the same situation, keep the faith. Glad the Village VR update is a small one. Giving me something to play until Horizon downloads. Village is looking and playing great although I'll need to take a break in a minute to recharge the pesky controllers which had about 5% charge on them when they arrived.
Still find having to repurchase Moss 1 and 2 again for psvr2 really irksome. I bought Moss 2 not that long ago. Bought it on PC and Quest 2 also. To recharge loyal customers the FULL game price AGAIN, while offering nothing new (both graphics and control upgrades over PSVR1 version are available on PC anyway) is a real kick n the teeth.
Adored this game on Quest 2. Waited till the update/expansion before I played it and its a wonderful Star Wars experience which I've heard (elsewhere) is even better on PSVR2. £40 is bad pricing though and i won't be double dipping unless in a sale. Oculus have learned that £22.99 is the sweet spot for VR games, up to £30 for the more impressive games. This is at most a £30 pounder. Most Star Wars fans will enjoy this game. Now we just need Vadar Immortal on PSVR2.
... oh ... i hate this game with a passion. Moment to moment gameplay is pretty good but playing for hours, dying and resetting progress, over and over had me seething with rage after every "run". The relief I felt when I decided to uninstall it wasnt insubstantial. If you like this sorta thing youll probably love this .. if u aint keen on roguelikes/lites, this might well be the worst the genre has to offer.
I just dusted off my PSVR1 (to quech my VR thirst till my PSVR2 arrives on tues) today having bought 130 odd PSVR games and not really played with it much since I got Quest 1 and 2 and started PC VR gaming.... Replayed Statik which is a great example of how original a VR game can be, and on World 4 of Astrobot now. I cant believe I forgot how AMAZING Astrobot is. I knew I loved it and that Level 2-2 Beachside Boogie was still probably my favourite level of ANY GAME EVER but my jaw has hit the floor again on replaying it. B-Boogie is still my fave but all the other levels offer something new. Literally grinning from ear to ear climbing a giant beanstalk or smashing a 40 foot gorillas teeth out. So disappointed PSVR2 aint compatible with my old collection. A sadly predictable misstep on Sony's part (but when is a Sony product ever completely consumer friendly?). Cant wait for Tuesday now. The prospect of Resi Village in 4K VR has me salivating.
Pre ordered but my heart sank when they revealed PSVR 1 back compat wasn't a feature. Wouldn't have cared much about the price if I didn't have to keep and repeatedly swap between two headsets to have access to my vr library. I can't even have my original PSVR permanently connected to PS5 as it kills HDMI 2.1 support. (who makes these awful decisions). With there being only 3 psvr 2 games I'm anticipating and the lack of compatibility for my old library, it's hard to justify the £610 asking price, (including the controller charge station) I might just cancel my pre order.
Was in my extensive back catalogue and not particularly high on the agenda. My son and I had a rather extensive Star Wars sesh over Xmas... After watching all the movies I replayed Vadar Immortal and Tales From Galaxies Edge on Quest 2... After finishing I went straight over to Fallen Order on Series X Game Pass. Can't believe I never played it before... Its fantastic and so underrated. Its right up my alley, more similar to a 3D Metroidvania (Arkham Asylum etc) than a Souls-like in my opinion. Just about every Force and Droid upgrade allow you to reach new places/items. Really enjoying the story, characters and lore and the skill tree is just right. It's a 9.5 for me after 15 hours. Should finish tomorrow but adoring what I've played so far.

Was really looking forward to this as I adore Dead Space but ... na. Buying a sub 75% reviewed game for full price just isnt worth it in this economic climate, especially when you consider all the really great games out there. Opportunistic, weasely companies/devs that ban reviews until after launch should be forced to accept returns. They mustve known the game wasnt top tier quality and tried to dupe people into preordering with that embargo. Poor form and sinister practice.
The weapon switching makes fights harder than they should be. Using Lunda's armour to poison bosses in fights is a nightmare as you have to click the spear button twice to put your weapons away and go empty handed. Half the time it doesnt work and you have to fumble about further with the d-pad till it works ... frustrating when your fighting a bifrost boss that can kill you in 1 hit.
Only Gna and the Berserker King boss fights still do do. 100%ed the rest. Berserker will get done fairly quickly. Nearly killed him couple times. Gna's energy bar is not insubstantial ... Might take a bit longer.
Wasn't going to but got LoU Part 1. Got £50 PSN card black Friday deal for £42 so only paid £44 for LoU instead of £52.50. Think I'll get The Quarry alsoo.
Not enjoying this game at all just now. Last 5 hours have been torture. Im trying to track one of the umpteen side quests listed ... I cant ... Zero option to track them. Im in the menus looking over SideQuests .... each time a prompt comes up, "Push square to go to map" ... im pushing square over and over ... its NOT GOING TO MAP .... ever!!!. It finally lets me push triangle to track ONE (out of 8) side quest ... I track the quest and go through the portal and the game decides I want to continue with the main story and not follow the sidequest??? I just refinished and 100% GoW 2018 before I started Ragnarok and had ZERO problems doing quests or navigating menus. This is making me seethe!!!
Stayed up late to play tonight... Confused... My lg c1 tells me it's hitting 86-88fps in performance mode with high frame rate mode on. When I turn on quality mode with high frame rate on it tells me its running at 118fps?
Not a big fan. Loved Village ... this feels more like Harry Potter via Alice in Wonderland. Nice to revisit Castle D and the first half was ok but the stealth parts are just so annoying. Just not the Resi DLC I was hoping for.
Premium till Oct '27 but really wish i had just plumped for Extra. Got a hacked PS3 with 3TB drive full of ps1, ps2, Ps3 n psp games so the Premium tier really is surplus to my requirements. Guessing there's no way to drop a tier and extend my subscription length?
Know its not really a PS1 game but that 32/64bit, 5th gen of consoles really has aged worse than any other. The sacrifice of performance for full 3D in games cant be understated. Cant believe I EVER gamed at 12fps-15fps. N64 games are an eyesore now also.
Really wasn't sure what Sony would do to combat all the attempted stacks but I just went for it anyway and got my Plus subbed till 2027 and my Now runs out next Feb - got my stack in just in time (great feeling) .... so looks like im getting 5yrs Premium whether I like it or not. If I hadnt stacked it id prob just be looking at Extra. Really looking forward to a few of the PS5 games i'd been meaning to pick up.
Oh dear. Have these guys EVER made a GOOD game? Ive played just about all of their "big" releases ... Fear 1&2, Blair Witch, Observer, The Medium and they're ALL 6/10s at most for me. Theres always something missing that leaves my interest dwindling.
@JohnnyShoulder Well ... it is a "subscription" service and is also required for online play. I dont know anyone that subscribes/unsubscribes to PS Plus on a monthly basis depending on what games are there for each individual month. Paying £50 a year instead of £100, knowing you'll be getting free monthly games AND a healthy library of games (incl PS5 games) AND the online service (which you'll be paying for anyway) is a no-brainer.
@AdamNovice There was links to working browser pages when I did it last week. Panicked at first as I couldn't do it on my PS5 console or PC initially. Had to use PC and specific links that take you to the working redeem page.
Really LOVED the Telltale Batman games, they were quirky and really held my attention more than I thought they would BUT they just dont compare to the Arkham games when it comes to BEING Batman. Loved Origins too and Arkham VR is a game I dip back into for a playthrough once every few months. (On PC with Quest 2 now ... much sharper and wireless).
@WizzNL yeah. LGC1. Just looked at my Video Output Information. "HDR: The connected PlayStation VR processor unit prevents your PS5 from using some HDMI features, including 120hz frequency and higher quality 4k formats." NOT AGAIN! I had to keep plugging and unplugging my PSVR into my PS4 Pro because the VR processor box bafflingly didn't have 4k passthrough... Now I've got to do the same bloody thing on PS5 if I want 120hz. Another Sony bungling, bonkers oversight.

Stayed up late to play tonight... Confused... My lg c1 tells me it's hitting 86-88fps in performance mode with high frame rate mode on. When I turn on quality mode with high frame rate on it tells me its running at 118fps?
Re: Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose (PS5) - Creative DLC Is a Short But Sweet Send-Off
Not a big fan. Loved Village ... this feels more like Harry Potter via Alice in Wonderland. Nice to revisit Castle D and the first half was ok but the stealth parts are just so annoying. Just not the Resi DLC I was hoping for.
Re: Poll: Which PS Plus Tier Are You Subscribed to?
Premium till Oct '27 but really wish i had just plumped for Extra. Got a hacked PS3 with 3TB drive full of ps1, ps2, Ps3 n psp games so the Premium tier really is surplus to my requirements. Guessing there's no way to drop a tier and extend my subscription length?
Re: Random: We Totally Would Have Played Horizon Zero Dawn on PS1
Know its not really a PS1 game but that 32/64bit, 5th gen of consoles really has aged worse than any other. The sacrifice of performance for full 3D in games cant be understated. Cant believe I EVER gamed at 12fps-15fps. N64 games are an eyesore now also.
Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PS Plus Extra or Premium?
Really wasn't sure what Sony would do to combat all the attempted stacks but I just went for it anyway and got my Plus subbed till 2027 and my Now runs out next Feb - got my stack in just in time (great feeling) .... so looks like im getting 5yrs Premium whether I like it or not. If I hadnt stacked it id prob just be looking at Extra. Really looking forward to a few of the PS5 games i'd been meaning to pick up.
Re: Silent Hill 2 Remake from Bloober Team Reportedly in Development
Oh dear. Have these guys EVER made a GOOD game? Ive played just about all of their "big" releases ... Fear 1&2, Blair Witch, Observer, The Medium and they're ALL 6/10s at most for me. Theres always something missing that leaves my interest dwindling.
Re: Wonder Boy Collection Makes Your PS4 a Master System from 3rd June
Without the superior Master System version of Monster Land OR Wonderboy 3 ... i'm gonna have to dodge this one. Pretty poor collection actually.
Re: PS Plus, PS Now Members Will Be Upgraded to PS Plus Premium for the Duration of Their Longest Subscription
@JohnnyShoulder
Well ... it is a "subscription" service and is also required for online play.
Re: PS Plus, PS Now Members Will Be Upgraded to PS Plus Premium for the Duration of Their Longest Subscription
@AdamNovice
There was links to working browser pages when I did it last week. Panicked at first as I couldn't do it on my PS5 console or PC initially. Had to use PC and specific links that take you to the working redeem page.
Re: PS Plus, PS Now Members Will Be Upgraded to PS Plus Premium for the Duration of Their Longest Subscription
Yay. I have 10 months of Now left and stacked 4 years of Plus last week. Jackpot!!
Re: Rumour: PS Plus PS5, PS4 Games for May 2022 Leaked Early
That'll do. Nice month for me. I always play Fifa a year behind so Fifa 22 on PS5 is a great freebie. Curse of the Dead Gods is a cracker too.
Re: Best Batman Games
Really LOVED the Telltale Batman games, they were quirky and really held my attention more than I thought they would BUT they just dont compare to the Arkham games when it comes to BEING Batman. Loved Origins too and Arkham VR is a game I dip back into for a playthrough once every few months. (On PC with Quest 2 now ... much sharper and wireless).
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection?
@WizzNL yeah. LGC1. Just looked at my Video Output Information.
"HDR: The connected PlayStation VR processor unit prevents your PS5 from using some HDMI features, including 120hz frequency and higher quality 4k formats."
NOT AGAIN! I had to keep plugging and unplugging my PSVR into my PS4 Pro because the VR processor box bafflingly didn't have 4k passthrough... Now I've got to do the same bloody thing on PS5 if I want 120hz. Another Sony bungling, bonkers oversight.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection?
Anyone know how to get Performance plus 120hz mode working? Only options available on mine are fidelity 30hz or performance 60hz.
