@zupertramp This gen is a complete disaster. ‘PS5 has no games’ has become a deeply ingrained meme among casual gamers for a reason. From their perspective, there’s a new COD every year or so but not much to grab their attention until GTA VI, which is multiplat of course.

@get2sammyb I saw a video of Watch Dogs 10 years on running with loads of mods and it looks right up my alley, if I could get it running! I played the second one and absolutely loved it but the first’s setting really appeals to me.

@Bizzy 3 kinda lacks a good way to play it unless you just go the emulation route. 1 and 2 have been remade or remastered or ported so many times by now, it’s 3’s shot to show everyone why it’s so beloved. I still think the challenge system of 1+2 is the best addition to the franchise in over 20 years, it would add so much more replayability to 3. I have more nostalgia for 4 and Underground but 3 is the best that the 2 minute runs ever got, even in later games which included a classic mode.

@johnedwin Not a correlation about sales, the fact is that public perception of Sony was at an all time low after Concord, Astro Bot brought it back up again…. only for the last few days to bring them right back down again.

@NEStalgia Looks like Japan are similar to the UK at least when it comes to physical sales of Astro Bot. The hype died down almost instantly due to the PS5 Pro debacle, it’s actually mad.

It’ll probably be £100 more for the privilege of shipping with less wires.

@Psofo Gender neutral pronouns have been used interchangeably in English for years. It’s not a big deal, I didn’t even notice until you pointed it out. It’s possible that the streamer is non-binary but it’s also possible that it was just written that way, the use of ‘they’ is 100% accurate at all times for all people. I mean, Shakespeare used the singular ‘they’. Is Shakespeare woke now?

@KeenAerondight Even that Matrix demo hasn’t been touched in many ways. Elements of that were super impressive.

Quality isn’t even an indicator of success, especially when it comes to movies. It’s impressive making something sh*te that also has no audience on a budget this size.

@NEStalgia Astro Bot also isn’t helping as much as I thought it would. Reviewed really well but isn’t selling, at least in the UK, like I thought it might. Plus it being essentially a playable advert makes it tainted by the general backlash towards the PS brand. I’ve seen more memes making fun of the corporate side of it than actual people playing and enjoying it, which is a shame but understandable.

Nope, PS5 isn’t even close to being pushed. That being said, if it exists then it should be the price that the PS5 is just now, with the base console given a price cut. If the argument is that the original is still selling and still cutting edge and so still worth the base amount, then why does this exist at all?

Without the Xbox 360, it’s worrying to think how Sony might not have listened to criticism and we wouldn’t have ended up with the late PS3 into PS4 era.

This is very similar to what happened with Concord. Extreme negativity right at the start, there’s essentially no way back.

Creating a fake image to try and justify this console? That’s a new low, and intentionally misleading.

The massive difference is that 4K TVs were commonplace when the PS4 Pro launched, and it was essentially just replacing the original model price wise while the original got a price drop. There was both a clear marketable improvement (4K) and zero extra financial burden. This is completely different as you can’t explain why it’s better to the layperson in a couple words and it’s extortionately expensive.

@get2sammyb There’s now an excuse for PS5 games to not be properly optimised on release. Not just an excuse, an incentive. What will sell more Pro consoles, the base version being 4K/60 with no Ray tracing or the base version being downgraded to 30FPS?

It’s genuinely laughable. What was the point of the PS5 then? They’re trying to tell us that actually the few games we’ve gotten for the PS5 are rubbish and we should have been playing on the £700 console instead? You’re doing the same sitting about for a patch that we’ve been doing since the PS5 came out with regards to PS4 games anyway, what’s the actual point of it all.

@Darth_Stofi VII is the best one if you asked the widest group of people. IX is the best one if you ask men over the age of 30. VIII is the best one if you want to generate clicks on a website called Push Square.

There’s a lot wrong with Ubisoft but I absolutely do not believe that a single thing would get better if they sold to Tencent.
