These books are brilliant. I already have both the original and old hunters guides from them so probably won't get this but it's great they're doing a reprint considering the prices they go for
@lindos the downside would be that one of the game's core intentions is lost
Not to mention how development would likely be affected by having to spend time trying to scale progression etc for different difficulty modes. There's also the online aspect of From Soft games that would be affected too
Generally throughout history, my favourite games are made the way the developers intend and don't actually have in-built difficulty options
Difficulty options in games are usually poor in my experience. Making enemies damage-spunges is not a good solution and likewise it doesn't help the other way if a game is too easy and the challenge is lost
But each game is different and should be treated differently
@Kanji-Tatsumi perhaps depends when you were reviewing it. The original Dark Souls DLC is a bigger improvement over the base game than the old hunters is for Bloodborne.
Well the PS4 version looks like it runs at about 20 fps and with the poor cameras, it felt practically unplayable the last time I tried a year or so ago
Seems a bit of an odd one, but there's a decent game in there and maybe this can unleash it
My interest in "new" games has definitely gone down a lot in the last few years. Reveals rarely excite me anymore and ultimately I guess I just already feel like I have plenty to play
If nothing else new was ever released, I'd still have far more games that I could ever need for the rest of my life
I'm not entirely convinced with the direction that PlayStation seem to be taking but it's still a hell of a lot more comfortable than the confusion and frankly desperation that's coming from Xbox.
Despite years of investment and buying as much as they could, Xbox still don't have anywhere near enough games that I actually want to play
Preservation aside, this is also a potential issue for anyone now that wants to buy the console, use physical media and doesn't have an Internet connection.
At this point though, the Internet is so ingrained in what the PS5 is that it would be silly to have without it
Somewhere in an alternate universe, sports titles are treated as other AAA games and only come out every 4 years or so but are absolutely stacked with great gameplay, content and detail.
As someone that's played every "FIFA" game since the start, as well as pretty much every other rival football game.. I really hate FC 24.
FIFA has always been arcadey, often to a fault, but never more so than in FC 24 and it feels like they've leant even further into all the things I disliked previously.
This is the first year in decades where I really haven't been interested in a new football video game. Feels a bit weird
@Ravix it's generally pretty easy to get your souls/ergo back after dying in this game.
There's definitely not the big dread you'd often get in other games like this. I thought this might be a bit of an issue based off the demo but for the game it works well
It still baffles me how they keep messing up these FMV games. I may be completely ignorant, but it really doesn't seem that complicated to put together a half-decent story with passable acting and then just add a few player choices in there to make it a "game".

Re: Wait! Why Didn't You Tell Us They're Making Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders?
Oooh this will be good.
Lonely Mountains was such a chill but challenging, well executed game
Re: Faaast Penguin Is Chaotic PS5 Multiplayer Fun from Japan
First thoughts are definitely Cool, Cool, Mountain
Re: Incredibly, Mafia: The Old Country Will Feature a Full Sicilian Dub on PS5
This might now be my most anticipated game. Shame it's probably quite far out by the sounds of it
The trilogy have their problems but overall they're still really good games

Re: Lore Tome Grace Given: The Mythology of Elden Ring Looks Absolutely Stunning
I keep getting advertised these Tune and Fairweather Souls books.
They all look phenomenal and if I had the money I'd invest in the lot of them
Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update
Worth remembering that they tweaked the base game quite a few times as well.
I'm not really a fan of them changing once released but don't think it's a huge issue.
Not FS, but Lies of P was also made easier after launch recently

Re: Poll: Can a Game's Brutal Difficultly Put You Off Playing It?
Absolutely all depends on the game.
Generally throughout history, my favourite games are made the way the developers intend and don't actually have in-built difficulty options

All From DLC has been superb though
Re: PlayStation Studios' Bluepoint Games Still Working on Its Mysterious 'Original Title'
If its anywhere near the quality of the SotC or Demons Souls remakes then I'm in.
Would be cool if they could make a new game somewhat inspired by their work there
Re: There's a Damn Good Reason to Buy Astro Bot Physically on PS5
@OldGamer999 pretty sure the champions league final was in "4K" on TNT sport?
Re: Yooka-Laylee Remaster Confirmed as Yooka-Replaylee, PS5 Version Likely

Think this is as close to a nailed on 10/10 as you'll get for me
Re: PS5 Platformer Astro Bot Will Have 80 Action-Packed Levels
The only game that appealed to me in the showcase.
Really looking forward to this
Re: Until Dawn Looks Scarily Good in PS5 Gameplay Trailer, Arrives in Fall 2024
Yeah, I don't think this looked particularly good to be honest

Agree with the comments that this article should be binned off tbh

@awp69 also agree. I often skip this article purely because of this

Nah. You're ok, Phil.

Re: Microsoft Exec on Helldivers 2: I'm Not Sure Who It Helps By Not Being on Xbox
What is this nonsense? 😂
Xbox getting crazier by the day at the moment
Re: Poll: Which Xbox Franchises Would You Buy on PS5?
Still can't believe Microsoft haven't put our a new Conker or Banjo game yet. No wonder their strategy needs changing
Re: Publishing Exec Claims 'There Are Too Many Games'
I feel like this is probably the same for every form of entertainment or art.
They're not only competing with new things coming out, but an ever expanding history of older games that people still want to play

Ah, somewhere

Re: Lies of P DLC Under Construction, Just Like Clockwork
Haven't finished the main game and the final chapter is dragging somewhat but I'm definitely down for DLC. The game is great
Re: Best The Simpsons Games
Does seem crazy that none of these games are available on PS4, PS5
Re: Become Unstoppable with Madden NFL 24's Season 2 Superstar Abilities, Angry Runs
Would rather they just made the game work tbh
The overall gameplay is decent this year from what I played. If they can just get the sliders working properly we could have a good one this year
Re: Random: Push Square Was a Question on a UK Quiz Show
That's amazing 😂
Congrats all
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Lies of P?
@Ravix it's generally pretty easy to get your souls/ergo back after dying in this game.
There's definitely not the big dread you'd often get in other games like this. I thought this might be a bit of an issue based off the demo but for the game it works well
Re: Lies of P's Latest PS5, PS4 Update Makes Life Easier, That's No Lie
That's disappointing. I've been making good, slow progress so far but I kind of feel anything going forward is a little tainted now
Re: Community: Push Square Community's Best Game of All Time Has Been Decided
The GOAT.
Kinda mad that they could probably double the income this game has ever made by just making a PS5 and PC version
Re: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Slashes Through 10 Million Copies Sold
It's so good.
Need to replay at some point

Re: EA Sports UFC 5 Is the First M-Rated Release in the Series
For as much as the sport has fallen off a cliff, I still wish we had a new boxing game instead.
I'm in for this though. Have enjoyed the previous UFC games from EA
Re: Highly Promising PS5 Souls-Like Lords of the Fallen Is Ready for Release
Looks great. Between this and Lies of P, I think I'm pretty set for my Soulslike fix for the rest of this year
Re: Rumour: God of War Ragnarok DLC Expansion Deep in Development for PS5
I don't think many people want to play as Atreus 😂
Re: Fort Solis (PS5) - Glitzy Walking Sim Disappoints
I really want to love games like this but they're almost always lacking in what should be the most key area: good writing and an interesting story
Re: PlayStation Portal Is Sony's PS5 Remote Play Handheld, Priced at $200 / £200
