These people who said this - did they actually play any part of the game first or is it knee jerk pessimism? I don't know if it had an open beta or not.
I really want Bungie to make some single player games because their gunplay is second to none.
Halo 1 was cool for its time but aged badly and is extremely repetitive. Halo 2 is great. Halo 3 is average but people liked online. 4 is trash and the side games are just that. So i wouldn't be bothered by whatever they sell. Halo 1 deserves a solid remake that expands the levels to make them more unique.
Considering how every game they make launches in an awfully broken state and takes months to a year to be ready, you could say all their games are live service.
Classic game. I guessed it was being developed early as the next new entry on the catalogue when Miyazaki was absent from DS2, so I had my hopes up long before it was announced. Soloing Orphan of Kos was a highlight. Probably the hardest boss they created.
@PloverNutter the "tutorial" takes hours to complete and no every MH game isn't like this. Every MH game has you do a couple of lines of dialogue and a hunt to move to the next tier. This was an hours long wall that prevented you from playing the game normally.
That's because the campaign is absolutely awful and everyone is pushing through it to be able to actually play the game they bought. Unfortunately it isn't optional. Nata may well be the most universally despised character of 2025.
Wasn't going to touch it but certain positive reviews and the fact it is some way related to the Odyssey team (whoever is left) changed my mind. AC2 fans be damned, Odyssey is the peak of the franchise. Been playing since the first one on PS3 and I don't get how people keep overrating 2.
@JuiceboxMeister It has long been accepted that it's a sequel. The title is a play on the story where Sephi is trying to remake the timeline where he succeeds. Japanese people love to do this with media. Nothing in that game is a remake in the meta sense.
Videogame remakes are not reimaginings they're just updates with new content. RE series, Silent Hill 2 are perfect examples.
@xDD90x a lot of the gameplay is based on transitions though. They could still keep the transitions and make it seamless like instancing which would be the best solution.
I don't really care that it was down for a day and I don't care that we got 5 extra days. It's a non issue that was blown out of proportion. Nothing like what happened back in the PS3 days.
This game would die if it's too easy. The casual crowd would move on to something else as usual and the real MH fans who stick around will quit because there's no challenge.
MH has to be a challenge. The challenge of the hunt is the fun. Either solo or in a group. If it's easy it's pointless. Like receiving a participation trophy.
Souls games are absolutely not masochism. Anyone who says that did not play games from the 90s and back.
@Coffeeglitch Monster Hunter Wilds is a live service game. Dont be reductive. This died because it wasn't run well. Games dont die because they're LS. People on this site have a serious hate obsession with live service not even realising some games they enjoy are exactly that
So far all I had was: Flickering issue especially at the very beginning on the shields. Sometimes you can get stuck on the terrain. One time I had the 'get out' hare icon stuck on screen and had to hard restart the game. A certain NPC stuck standing at a campfire. He is permanently stuck but it happened after the quest and after I learned all the skills (I think).
@Romans12 Combat is a cakewalk compared to the first game. Never found it frustrating in this one. If i had to argue it's that they made it too easy trying to fix the system.
@DennisReynolds William was a real person who became a samurai by status. Nioh is a fantasy game with little to no historical accuracy. Just famous characters in passing conflict. It also has a central story involving London. Yasuke was a retainer at best and certainly not a samurai.
If you wanted to make a comparison you should have said Yasuke from Nioh because they are a lot more similar in design. Again Nioh is pure dark fantasy where AC tries to keep some historical accuracy. I'm not subscribing to the 'anyone who criticises is a racist' rhetoric. It stinks of head in the sand mentality.
The thing is...pc players are used to modding everything. I haven't played a PC game with an interactive UI that wasn't modded. They're so reliant on mods they can't seem to play a game without.
I have 6 on PC, PS5, and even Netflix if desired and cross progression via cloud saves. No reason to buy this any time soon. I just wish they would do another Alpha Centauri. Always preferred the sci-fi colony theme.
Been playing since the PSP days and World was the game I had been waiting for. It was such a great addition to the series and I could finally stop playing claw style.
@Nem Like many others I had no issue playing World solo. It was easier and more accessible than the old games for sure. Also Souls isn't masochistic. Ninja Gaiden is. Devil May Cry on DMD is. NUR+ runs of GoW games kinda is. Souls is just a learning curve that can also be circumvented by stats and gear.

Re: Remaster Specialists Are Ready to Target the PS3 Next, And We Can't Wait
They should purge Resistance 3 and do it over again. That series took a weird turn with the ending of 2 and 3 just not following up.
