Good review thanks Sammy, I don't do much of the online stuff these days so I will wait for a sale as I do with most fighting games, there just isn't enough single player content to justify full price IMO. Fighting games seem in a decent spot these days which is good to see (apart from the Tekken 8 debacle).
Well done Kim Hyung-tae, well deserved, I'm yet to play the game (it's next in the backlog) but you made something creative that people enjoy so enjoy the rewards 👍
I am about to go fight Erlang in Black Myth for the true ending then it will be some Astrobot before Indy next week
@JamieO did you play Robocop 3 on the Amiga? I am sure you did, was pretty revolutionary back in the day and pretty tough, it was an FPS and you could drive around Detroit City to jobs/crimes etc, it was really good with an excellent atmosphere, might not have aged well but I have fond memories!
@x3King84 Thank you for the info, I didn't realise there wasn't a resolution boost, still tempted though as an easy gateway into Steam gaming! Yeah I got a Pro too and love it, a Pro Indy patch would be excellent, I'm currently going through Black Myth Wukong and it runs a dream!
@x3King84 You are spot on mate, they are dying out and will surely end some time soon. I will be getting Indy for sure, that is available on disc, I know it is a down load but I have the box for my shelf 🤦♂️ I am tempted to get a Steam Deck to cover PC releases but it would just be hooked up to the TV as it is way too big to play hand held for me!
@x3King84 It is purely my own fault buddy, I don't buy digitally (bit of a collector) so no disc no buy unfortunately although I must say this more than any title (as I have always been team blue and red) has me tempted!!
Only had mine for a couple of weeks but I am really impressed with the streaming, I haven't done it from my PS5 just from the cloud and it works flawlessly so far.
@Matroska Spot on mate I was down in London a couple of weeks ago with work and I kid you not along the river it was pretty much £9 - £10 per bottle (bottle not pint) so yeah it is good value. Going to watch United (Manchester) costs me around £100 for match day including the ticket for 90 minutes of misery so my £60 for BMW which I am playing 3 months later is pure value. The only issue is kids, little ones pestering parents for games at a £80 - £100 a pop is ridiculous!
I couldn't imagine playing Black Myth with a mouse and keyboard or half of these games to be honest. I used to like it for certain games though reminds me of the good old Amiga days, looking at you cannon fodder and syndicate!!
It looks good to me, I will be getting one but not day one, Mario Kart does make me very tempted though! I like having Nintendo as my secondary console despite being lured by the Steam deck which I keep considering!!
I am now about half way through chapter 5 of Black Myth Wukong, games just gets better and better, Scorpion Lord was a pain in the b*tt, surely no other bosses will be as annoying from here on in! Got a Portal for my birthday too so will be seeing how that holds up!
Still punishing myself with Black Myth Wukong, hit a bit of a wall with the Scorpion Lord fight, he is optional so I am tempted to move on and get him in NG+ but we'll see, I haven't got him past about 25% health which is worrying after so many goes! Really want go get it finished so I can make a start on Atomfall sooner than later.
@Marquez A timely comment mate, I am in the process of looking to get one of these but I still saw myself taking my Vita on holiday/work trips etc. it is why I have been hesitant until now, sounds like you have tried it so is it fair to say even on a hotel wifi connection (notoriously dodgy) the streaming is good? I have decent internet at home so not worried about that.
Prince of Persia is awesome, please try it if you have any interest at all, easily the best game of 2024 IMO. Arcade Paradise is great fun (VR is also fun) but Captain Tsubasa is the big win for me, I have a sealed copy in my back log that can now stay sealed
@naruball fair point it is a slow starter but you do eventually get to employ someone to do all the cleaning and laundry for you and you get to just play the cabinets each day. Some games are t*ss as you will know but some are equally great, the wood chopping one and the Zombie shooting one being my favourites!
Loved the first game and looking forward to this, they say deliveries are automated so does that mean more combat? It was a great experience and this looks more of the same with extra shinny black goo
No disc then no buy for me unfortunately which is a shame as I was interested. Probably means Halo etc won't have physical releases either which is a bummer, thank you Bethesda for not following suit
Continuing my playthrough of the excellent Black Myth Wukong, juts coming out of the Webbed Hollow in Chapter 4 looking for the last purple alter so the secret area!
I was all in anyway but just enforces my decision to go all in day 1, it is very interesting and being from the UK (in the North too) I hope the setting delivers!!
Atomfall is the main one for me this month but also intrigued by Sociable Soccer & Shotgun King (I like chess 🤷♂️). I don't want to be disrespectful to the devs but is The Crown of Wu not just a physical version of e-slop?
@ear_wig Nice one buddy, it is excellent, proper punch the air moments when beating certain bosses! I can recommend Alan Wake 2 absolutely loved it, Saga is a great character but I'll be honest the sections as Alan weren't as good IMO. Have a good one 👍
Continuing Black Myth Wukong, chapter 4 now, chapter 3 was brilliant and much bigger than the previous ones. Just as you start to feel a bit powerful the enemies get that bit tougher, hate the flying ones - pain in the a**. Awesome game though!
I wonder if my boss will give me the day off when Atomfall releases? It is set in the UK after all but I have more chance of getting my P45 to be honest
That is a real shame, I was looking forward to it, I will have to pass sorry. Big up to Bethesda for ensuring their games still ship physically (presuming it is them who push it of course - it ain't MS), can't wait for Indie and Doom! Probably means if Halo or Gears do come over to PS they will be digital only Surely they could ship boxes with a green stripe at the top instead of white or something to advertise Xbox on PS, would be cool and strange in equal measure!
Ooh that is only a few days after Atomfall which I think I want to play first but I am definitely getting this, only heard good things and love Machine Games (apart from Youngblood) the New Colossus is fantastic and my favourite to date!
After the success of the Chine Hero projects I hope these deliver too, similar to other posts I work for an India company (in the UK) and the IT guys are with out a doubt the hardest working teams I think I have ever witnessed. If this mentality carries over into gaming then I have no doubt these games (or at least some of them) will be excellent!
It is a great headset and I think the price point is much more palatable for consumers, if you like racing games you wont find a better VR one than GT7 it's awesome (& I don't have a wheel...yet). I agree with others it is a shame some games are not multiplatform but hey console wars and all that 🤷♂️
Ah my Turtles Cowabunga Collection & Sonic Colors can stay perfectly sealed now May try DA at some point but way down the line, great month all round even though I already have 2 of the 3!
The originals are great with probably the second as my favourite although the Chains of Olympus on PSP was fantastic 2. I still have them all but would definitely buy them again if they were available physically. It is a case of I don't need them & probably didn't want them but if they come out I will buy them especially if it is a collection like the recent Tomb Raiders (all on one disc)!
Continuing my play through of WuKong, still loving it, so rewarding and I feel the difficulty is just right for me. Hoping Stellar Blade is similar! Managed to snag a physical copy of Clive Barkers Scorn too so hoping to give that a try!
@wiiware have you tried streaming a Premium game yet? I plan on getting one and I agree, much prefer the symmetrical thumb sticks! Enjoy my friend 👍 Happy Gaming Folks
That is what you call consumer friendly, great to let you play a couple of levels for free 1st (on any console) shows they have confidence in their game too which is excellent.
Get in, great news, really loving all of these retro side scrolling beat em' ups and this one looks like a bit more of a platformer too - awesome!
Yes the tune was great and still in my head to this today along with Biker Mice from Mars, as the old adage goes 'They don't make em like they used to'
I am currently playing Wu Kong and it is fantastic (Stellar Blade next), I am not into Gotcha games but thanks to Sammy I am aware Genshin and Honkai are 2 of the biggest (if not the biggest) live service games on PS. Keep those Hero projects coming!!
As a PS fan there are zero downsides to this, I would be a little peeved if I was on team green but I think most sane gamers accepted this reality a long time ago. I don't mind giving MS money for good games, I welcome it!
If a rugby games makes the top 5 it must have been a slow week in general! Made up for Civ 7 though, I will be dipping into that at some point for sure!
No option for playing an offline game anyway so didn't matter 🤷♂️ The compensation is rubbish but as it did not interrupt my game time I ain't complaining.
Continuing my play through of Black Myth Wukong, absolutely brilliant game, it isn't perfect (the camera can be a pain in the back side at times) but it's great fun and the skill tree is really detailed meaning you can switch up approach at anytime.
I would definitely use one for certain games, things like Disco Elysium would have been great on a mouse as would most of the sim games like Theme Park, 2 point games & the Jurassic Evolution games but for everything else the Dual Sense is perfect IMO!
@Keyblade-Dan San Andreas was the best one of the lot IMO, can't beat Carl and the Los Santos crew, I loved Trevor in 5 but give me San Andreas any day of the week.
Really looking forward to this one, first game was excellent and I am well up for more of the same plus in general I think MGS 2 was considered one of the best so hopeful a sequel of this IP hits just as hard
@Quintumply Thanks for this Stephen, nice review though I am a little disappointed as I believe this game was the inspiration for Balatro and was hoping it would be as addictive.
On second thoughts perhaps that isn't a bad thing!!
