I call BS on the one percent who claim that they don’t even know what Harry Potter is.

The first game was fun but the zero gravity sections were a little disorienting and difficult to maneuver for me while hunting for collectibles. Are there more chapters like that?

At least they kept the base fighting mechanics. I am a big fan of the Yakuza series but don’t really dig the shift to turn based combat now that it’s Like a Dragon.

Did anyone here ever get the free adapter from Sony to plug the PSVR 1 into the PS5? I think I requested that over a year ago.

@Matej. I was reluctant to buy a Steam Deck at its price point, but my son really wanted one. I must say that it is a truly impressive piece of hardware. Seeing something like Red Dead Redemption 2 run on a handheld is nothing short of amazing. And we got a docking station for Christmas, so now he is able to play on a big television using a PS5 controller. It’s great for those games that are not available on PlayStation. That being said, the new Zelda is coming out soon and I don’t think a successor to the Switch is coming any time soon.

Broke down and bought The Last of Us Part 1 for the PS5 for Christmas. Giving it a play through now before the show starts. I’m hoping to finish in a week or two then be able to watch the first two or three episodes back to back. Just the load screen alone brings back a ton of memories.

Oxenfree had the best mechanics for branching dialogue choices of any game ever. It was intuitive, easy and incredibly smooth with instant transitions. I hope other developers took notice.

@rjejr I’m sure that you have already played It Takes Two (if not, buy it immediately), but this developer’s earlier game is a great co-op experience as well. It’s called A Way Out, is about a prison escape, and is free on Extra. It’s only a few dollars on sale in the PS Store if you don’t have Extra. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

I will speak up for the underdog. Season looks absolutely delightful. I love the art style and the game mechanics look chill. This is the type of game I can get lost in.

I just picked up House of Ashes for $9.99 (with a free PS5 upgrade) because I saw it listed in your article. So everyone should be able to play it for free when it inevitably hits PS Plus Extra next month. You’re welcome.

This is the way game announcements should be. A few months before release and a nice surprise for everyone.

HBO makes quality programming. I am confident that this show will please fans and newcomers alike. Broke down and purchased the remake as a Christmas gift for me and my son. We have both played it before, but it will be nice to revisit before the show starts.

That’s odd. Several months back, you guys had a brief announcement about another horror game set in the bunkers of WW1. Ad Infinitum, I believe it was called, and to be honest, it looked better.

I just noticed that he only purchased $20,000 worth of stock. Imagine ruining your career and reputation (and possibly facing a jail sentence) for twenty grand.

I understand that games have to leave the service, but I wish Sony would give us a little more notice. Two weeks isn’t enough time for me to knock out the Mafia titles for example.

@nessisonett Assault maps are now grouped together and rotate in and out of arcade mode.

@Agramonte. I think Valve announced in early October that they had shipped over a million Steam Decks, one of which was delivered to me. A million units as opposed to the ubiquity of a cell phone. I don’t play mobile games, but I can see why companies would want to invest in that market.

@Robocod. Is that the same Magnetic Fields with Stephin Merritt of 69 Love Songs? I knew that he had done the music for Coraline on Broadway but did not expect him to do video game soundtracks. Although his early albums were almost all synthesizer, so maybe.

This game also has a wonderful original sound track by Japanese Breakfast. It suits the art style well.

This title is free in the Epic Games Store until Wednesday, November 2, along with Warhammer 4K, for those who play on computer. I didn’t realize it was new until the mini-review.

Who the hell rated this a 1 (abysmal)? Certainly you could not have enjoyed the first game and given this a 1. And if you didn’t enjoy the first game, then why play the sequel? I somehow doubt that person even played the game.

Is this a mobile game? Why is everything grey?

Looking for a horror themed game for Halloween, but I didn’t want to spend the money on A Plague Tale with GoW so close, so I downloaded The Medium from Extra. It is much more enjoyable than I expected from reading the general comments here. Very atmospheric, quality voice acting, and I quite like the fixed camera as I am an old school horror fan. It’s much better than Tormented Souls, which is another similar, modern horror throwback on PS4 and PS5. And the soundtrack is excellent. Really adds to the tension. I cannot wait to jump back in, although I will probably wait until it gets dark. Bloober Team gets too much criticism. I think the Silent Hill 2 remake is in good hands.

If it were a tease, knowing Sony recently, it would probably be for a PC port rather than a console remake or remaster.

@HeroYoshiko. The base PS4 could output 1080p at a targeted 30fps. The big selling point of the PS4 Pro was 4K.

@thefourfoldroot1 Hey. Try standing in one spot and spinning the camera in circles around your character at the two different frame rates. I feel confident that you will be able to see the difference.

@rjejr What’s up with Foram? That guy have some beef with you? That account was just started October 8, but he talks like you have been badmouthing Sony portables for ages. What did you do?

@thefourfoldroot1 I think the 12 hour campaign was a reference to the banana collectible that was offered for only a single day, October 12, when the Stars program launched in Europe. For a couple of days afterward, the campaign and reward were still showing up in the app, but it was marked as expired. Very frustrating, as I played a game during the required timeframe, but apparently you needed to click Start on the campaign in the app to receive the reward.

@Mikey856 You can delete a game from your trophy list if you are worried about it affecting your completion rate.

Sackboy also had a free Toem skin that I discovered shortly after playing Toem from the PS Plus titles last month. It’s so cute and the timing was perfect, as was the extra free content added to Toem after hitting Plus.

@trev666 So fifty points is equal to twenty cents. That is laughable when you see the list of games eligible for the reward. Except for Inscryption, most are sixty dollar games on the PS4 and seventy on the PS5.
A seventy dollar purhase gets you twenty cents of credit.

I am surprised by the number of people who have TLOU2 on their lists. I have always felt the structure is brilliant and such a bold move to have you play as Abbie for half the game, but I thought I was in the minority. It’s nice to see others appreciate it as well.

@thefourfoldroot1 I love the Yakuza series as well but could easily spend a hundred plus hours in each game. How do you find the time to play anything else?

Toem, a little indie game that was on PS Plus this month. It’s a joy to play. This is the type of game that is ideal for the subscription service. I only wish I had it on Switch because it would be perfect for a hand held system, with its ability to zoom in and out and rotate the environment. Can’t wait for Chicory (I have been eyeing it for over a year in the store sales) and Spiritfarer when they hit Extra in a couple of weeks. Keep the indies coming Sony.

@playstation1995 The third game Is the black and white camera puzzler Toem. Little Nightmares was last month. Word up son.

@LiamCroft Do you (or anyone) know if the gameplay is going to be presented in one long continuous shot with no cuts or edits like the last one?

@Smithylfc2008. It has been a while since I played it, but this did not have a Platinum trophy on PS4. So it probably won’t on the PS5 either. Still worth playing again though.

These comments are humorous. They go back and forth between people who prefer the stealth, parkour and assassinations of the original games and those that like the open world, exploration and lengthy quests of the more recent ones. It’s like reading the comments in any The Last of Us article, alternating between the people who would never pay seventy dollars to play it again and the others that can’t wait until Friday.
