So I take it that this is another digital only game since the release date is only two weeks away. Is that right?

@B0udoir Just like all Essential games, if you claimed the titles in the PS+ Collection, you still have access to them.

I have started Days Gone again. I didn’t get far in my first play through (I think I got distracted by Death Stranding), but man is it fun. Riding motorcycles and shooting zombies. I can’t believe I ever quit playing it.

I am really surprised to not see more comments trashing the game again.

@CrashBandicoat And yet I can resell my physical version and recoup at least half, if not more, of the original purchase price. This is a major advantage of physical that often seems lost in the discourse.

I guess that I am one of the few who is enjoying the Concord beta. The amount of hate that this game is getting is unlike anything I have seen before except maybe for Suicide Squad, although that was probably well deserved. I think it is polished with interesting character designs and abilities. I just wish it had ultimates. I see a lot of people complaining about the lack of health regeneration and sparse health packs, but it is a team shooter so team composition matters. There is a post where some OverWatch developers were praising it too. And speaking of OverWatch, the new hero in that game scheduled to release next season in August is playable this weekend, so I will probably be jumping on there to try her out as well. Smart timing. What can I say? Comfort food.

Animal Well. I have, by far, spent the most hours on this game and keep coming back for more The sense of accomplishment when you finally figure out a puzzle is so rewarding. I love how nothing is explained to the player. It’s pure gameplay at its finest. And so many secrets.

Are you kidding? A Varl figure but no Erend? He could have had an attachable stein.

645 players. That is a low number for Mortal Kombat 1.

OverWatch. After a six year absence. they have reissued the pink Mercy skin as a fundraiser for breast cancer research. The last time, it raised over 12 million dollars. I generally don’t spend money for cosmetics, but it’s for a good cause. And it is just so damned cute.

I would rather have Blades of Steel.

@get2sammyb. As @sanderson72 pointed out, doesn’t Amazon own the rights to Tomb Raider now? So wouldn’t it be Amazon, not Embracer, licensing out the character?

I am surprised that you guys haven’t mentioned it, but Sony is offering a year of Netflix premium for free with the purchase of a PS5 for their Days of Play summer sale. I pay $25 a month for Netflix. That’s $300 a year. And the digital version of the PS5 is on sale for $400. That’s like getting a PS5 for a hundred bucks. But the sale ends today or tomorrow. I was considering getting a second console for my son but I am holding out for the eventual release of the Pro. Still, that’s a good deal that I haven’t really seen advertised.

Think I am going to get Silt for five dollars. Seems like a really good deal. I want the most recent Dark Pictures Anthology title, The Devil Inside, but the last two I bought came to the subscription service shortly after. So maybe Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. I prefer the style of combat to the turn based entries anyway, but I really wanted a physical copy for my collection.

The menus are terrible to navigate. All of my progress has been reset and perks disabled. I have a ton of one of the many currencies to respec my characters but I cannot figure out how to buy the perks with the currency. Are they actively trying to make it this difficult? And why does it feel like I am fighting against bots now in a 2 v2?

Seems odd that this is on Netflix rather than Amazon. I guess a deal was in place before Amazon acquired the IP.

But just one month ago the developers stated in the reveal that it was a play space “two times bigger” than the original. Certainly they realized the limitations of the Series S before then.

I could not play it because of the voice lines alone. What do the kids say these days? So cringe.

Still playing Animal Well. The sense of discovery when you figure something out is so rewarding. Better than most any AAA title from this year. Oh, and I bought Indika from the PS Store.

For everyone that keeps asking why this game and not other Xbox or Nintendo exclusives, it is probably because the first game was a PlayStation exclusive and the fan base therefore made up of PlayStation owners. It can’t be a loss for PlayStation if it never existed on the console before. Context.

For anyone interested, there is also a free Dredge crossover DLC that brings some of the aberrations from that game to the Blue Hole under certain weather conditions. You can catch the aberrations and serve special dishes at your restaurant.

G-Police. That’s a deep cut. If only Sony could get Square to put Einhander on the service.

I don’t understand how EA Sports FC 24 is in the number one spot when it is free this month with PlayStation Plus. I mean don’t you need Plus to play the game online anyway?

You would think that publishers would learn from their mistakes and be more attune to what is successful. But isn’t Warner Brothers making a multiplayer quidditch game next?

I want to try this if I can pull myself away from Dave the Diver. And I am hoping to play ABZU before it leaves Extra in a couple of weeks.

Having so much fun with Dave the Diver. The game is super addictive. It would be perfect on a handheld. I wish I had started my playthrough on the PS4 in the bedroom instead of the PS5 in the living room, but I would probably never go to sleep at night. Anyway, the game is on hold now because it is Record Store Day and I am in search of The Rolling Stones self titled debut album with the UK tracklist. Limited quantities pressed, so wish me luck.

Why port this to XBOX instead of Switch? Unless Ember Lab got a paycheck for Gamepass, I don’t see them making much money off sales to XBOX owners.
