Re: Video: PS5 Pro vs PS5 - Assassin's Creed Shadows Stuns on Sony's Hardware

It’s incredible what they can do, but I’m on console. Base PS5. I’ve already given up max performance for the ease a console offers and cheaper point of entry than with a PC.

Not bragging by any means but my set up is an 8 year old OLED that is still looking superb and I have Atmos surround sound from a fairly hefty AV receiver to really give games and movies that immersive feeling.

Might be just be, but immersive sound and smooth frame rates are my kink

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Showcases the Problem with Sony's Games on PS5 Pro

Stnkygrngo

@Ken_Kaniff I went back into the PS ecosystem with the PS4 Pro and I regretted getting a PS5 two years after launch because all the games I wanted to play were still coming out on the PS4 (and still are).

30 frames is nice, but 60 is where it’s at. Certain games it would be nice to have it all, but I can live w pop in for far distances is that’s my trade off of not upgraded to a pro

Re: Prospective PS5 Pro Buyers Cause Disc Drives to Sell Out

Stnkygrngo

@WiccanMagick75 I’ve said the same thing. Instead of games humming along at 4k/60fps we get high res PS4 remakes, few games that can max out specs, and now a console bump that would leave all PS5 owners in the dark as the new console will likely be the only home for these high res showcases we’ve been promised

Re: GTA Publisher Lays Out Complex Entertainment Per-Hour Pricing Algorithm

Stnkygrngo

I was late to the party for PS4 after skipping the PS3 and my god, the Uncharted games are some of my favorite on PlayStation. At 12-20 hours each, incredible level design, lots of laughs, challenges, I’d pay $70 for a new one in a heart beat. Bioshock was another series albeit a tad longer each, but totally engulfed me.

Assassins Creed Valhalla had a great story but so much fluff I’m so turned off by the series now, one of my favorites, that I’ll wait for Mirage to drop to $20.

He’s not wrong, but the market won’t bare it. DLC and Season Passes are the consumers choice to pay more/play more.

Re: Xbox Boss Promises '100% Parity' for Call of Duty on PS5, PS4

Stnkygrngo

@ShadowofSparta you’re not. It’s the same Bethesda RPG but in space. It’s a great looking game, but I lost interest and deleted it within 10 hours of playtime. It’s a massive time sink with an IV drip of reward in my opinion.

The planets are cool but there’s so much you can do it’s overwhelming and I lost interest very quickly.

Re: Rumour: Immortals Fenyx Rising Sequel Canned by Ubisoft

Stnkygrngo

After the bloat with AC Valhalla and the disappointment of playing Watch Dogs Legion all the way through and now this with UbiSoft...I think I am going to sit them out for a while and just gobble up games at $14.99 or less from them moving forward.

Far Cry, AC, Clancy games, all used to rock. Now we get a $70 bloated fetch quest game with maybe 12-20 hours of story arc.

Very disappointed with their decision on canceling Immortals' sequel if this is the case.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro Targeting Potential 2024 Release

Stnkygrngo

@Loamy I 100% agree. However I can’t put GT7 down now that I have the PS5. The adaptive triggers do rock while playing Ragnarok and GT7. Yes, the graphics are smoother. The draw distance and motion are noticeable from the PS4 Pro counterparts.

Ray tracing is nice on games that offer it. It’s super rad on GT7.

It’s the little things that make it worth it for me.

Is it the jump from 360/PS3 to PS4/X1 we got? Not quite but I’m happy with my decision to upgrade, albeit was only in January 2023.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro Targeting Potential 2024 Release

Stnkygrngo

@R1spam and they played great on my PS4 Pro and friends said they were happy with performance on their launch PS4’s

I just upgraded to a PS5. It’s nice but I don’t notice much difference other than:
-loading times are shorter
-an additional performance mode
-a constant reminder to pay $30 to upgrade Ghosts and Spider-Man

Re: Skull and Bones Delayed Yet Again as Ubisoft Cancels Three Games

Stnkygrngo

After Valhalla I’m done with Ubisoft. Watch Dogs Legions was *****. Valhalla was good but so much fluff and filler I gave up after I finished the main quest. Riders Republic was a good try, I’d like to see more creativity like that. Mario Vs…it’s was sale for half price constantly after three weeks at launch.

I dunno, they need some major revamping. It’s not the industry, it’s Ubisoft

Re: Microsoft Invites Sony to Sign Its Own 10-Year Call of Duty Deal

Stnkygrngo

@thefourfoldroot1 10 years is a lot longer than it should be, but it’s long to get the deal done and pass regulators. We COULD see two Nintendo hardware releases in that time.

I don’t see an issue of having older games on the PS+ service w their campaigns and only supporting online multiplayer on the current release and the year prior to free up server space. If that is an issue with online support, then why are they putting out yearly releases? Maybe have 3-5 years worth of online support on GamePass as an exclusive but no more of that times release BS with DLC or different modes. That needs to end. That hurts the community as a whole but it has padded Sony’s pockets…which is likely what they want to maintain going forward.

Nintendo has some technical hurdles to overcome but looking at the Steam Deck, they can absolutely put out a Switch successor that could support and pool into CoD cross-play.

Re: Rumour: Is Horizon Forbidden West DLC on the Verge of Announcement?

Stnkygrngo

Meh, I couldn’t get into Frozen Wilds. Forbidden West wasn’t as great as the first, but it’s the story arc of the trilogy so that’s to be expected. Still a GotY contender from me, but I don’t need back story.

They mentioned The Clone Wars once in Star Wars and they have an entire series about it.

We don’t need this, just finish the trilogy.
