Re: Gorgeous Cuphead Collector's Edition Revealed, Physical Launch Set for 6th December

ThaBEN

I think I'll actually get this on the Nintendo Switch, as Digital Foundry has shown that there is zero graphical difference. Only the initial loading times is about 4 seconds longer on Nintendo Switch.
This is due the fact that the physical game doesn't come with a PS5 gamecase. My OCD would be triggered, LOL.
If it came with a PS5 gamecase, that would have been my preffered choice.

Re: PSVR2 Hands-On Previews Praise Hardware and Games in Glowing Write-Ups

ThaBEN

The price is one thing. I think it's worth around €600 for me personally to still do a day one buy (if I can ge the funds in time).
But the second thing that is a factor for me is the amount of (good) launch titles.
I will buy a PSVR2 no doubt, but I might wait a year to have some more game options and maybe a nice bundle during the Days of Play.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Saints Row?

ThaBEN

The first 2 games were my favourite and real GTA competitors if you ask me.
Then they decided to go over the top with humor. It's probably a good decision from a business perspective as to distance themselves from being a GTA clone. But man, I loved the style of the first two games and the idea of building and customizing your own gang.
Also, it feels weird that Johnny Gat isn't in the remake. If he was in the game I would probably have bought the game at launch.

Re: Good News, Bat Fans! Gotham Knights PS5 Has Gone Gold

ThaBEN

Preorder already done. Although "Gone Gold" doesn't carry the same weight as a few years ago.
I mean Assassin's Creed games go "Gold" with ton of bugs at launch. Cyberpunk did go "Gold" before release 😅
But I'm confident this developer will bring something good.

Re: Skate's Anticipated PS5 Reboot Will Be Free-to-Play

ThaBEN

I'm too old for online games. As a young dad it's too much of a commitment to interact online without being 99 levels behind the rest of the players. And I just don't have that much time for myself these days, which means I'll get constantly owned by others.
Please have a meaty offline career in which I can progress at my own pace.
Otherwise I might have to skip this one, even though it's one of my favourite franchises.

Re: Riders Republic, Skull & Bones Will Have In-Game Events to Highlight Climate Issues

ThaBEN

Real world social and political issues don't have a place in a full priced videogame. Especially not when the game's main theme is not about any of these issues. (Overfishing pirates in the 1600's, really?)
This will open a door into more in-game advertisements disguised as "events".
No matter how good the intentions, it's still propaganda/advertising.

If this becomes a thing, we'll end up with the company/organisation that has the most money controlling the content and narrative that will show up in a game as events, billboards, cosmetics, free DLC or other sneaky ways.

The fact that they announce this for a game that hasn't even gotten a release date yet, seriously factors in my willingness to buy Skull & Bones.

If Ubisoft had sincere concerns about these topics, why don't they just donate a equal amount of money as that it will cost Ubisoft to hire a team to develop and implement this in these games, instead of forcing this on the players?

Re: Sony's INZONE $899 Gaming Monitor Will Automatically Optimise PS5's HDR

ThaBEN

This is so confusing to me. Are these PC products sponsored by Sony PS5? Or are they supposed to be Sony PS5 products which also can be used on PC?

The PS5 doesn't support 144Hz or 240Hz. And I bet the H9 companion app would not work on PS5, rendering a lot of the special features useless for the PS5 console.

Wouldn't that make these products pointless and a waste of money for PS5 console gamers?

Re: PSVR2 Is Playable at GDC and Is Already Blowing Minds

ThaBEN

I kinda hope it's more in-line with the other VR headsets, so we get to see more multiplatform VR games. I know this headset is going to be awesome, but I hope we don't end up with a $400 setup that only has 3 games to play at launch.
I believe Sony already confirmed that backwards compatibility is not a focus and they rather would have developers make remasters for PSVR2 for popular games (I hope Beat Saber makes the jump to PSVR 2).
The lack of backwards compatibility and how many games there are at launch is the only factor for me if I get it day one or not. But I'm definitely going to get it!

Re: Remember to Buy Horizon Forbidden West on PS4, And Not PS5

ThaBEN

My OCD will be triggered having a PS4 gamecase between my PS5 gamecases. And I don't like the idea of owning the PS5 version digital, while still needing to insert the PS4 disc. So I'll spend a few more bucks.
Also, a lot of troubles redeeming PS5 upgrades for popular games during launch week.
So be warned!

Note: If your planning on going digital, than the PS4 version is a no-brainer.

Re: This Is What the GTA Trilogy Looks Like on PS5, PS4

ThaBEN

To be fair, the negativity is mostly because we all want GTA6. But when looking at this objectively, it's the best we could ask for a remaster. I might might even dare to say the best remaster up until now?
Only a remake could make it better, but then you'll lose the authenticity they probably wanted to keep in place.

Re: Sony Pimps Perfect for PS5 Bravia XR TVs

ThaBEN

@Denni5m
I'm willing to bet that they don't have HDR with (good) local dimming. That's part of why TV's have higher latency than monitors. Local dimming takes time. And I'm willing to bet you won't see the difference between 1 and 6 ms in a blind test anyhow.

Re: Crysis Remastered Trilogy Hooks 15th October Release Date

ThaBEN

I'm partially interested, but do take note that this game does not have native PS5 support. It's just dynamic resolution that has a more stable performance on PS5. So no optimized loading times, ray-tracing, visual upgrades (other than resolution boost) and no DualSense haptic feedback support.
