@themightyant Sounds like we have very similar tastes my friend. I’ve had Return of the Obra Dinn sitting on my Switch since launch, but still haven’t started it. Sounds like it’s about time to put that right. I loved Papers, Please, which was also from Lucas Pope, so I had to pick up Obra Dinn.
I have a 12 hour flight booked for next month (and another 12 hours on the return journey a fortnight later), so that would be the perfect time to get into a bunch of indies that I have installed on my Switch.
@themightyant Oh man, I loved Her Story. I played it on mobile when it originally released on iOS. They should really consider doing a Switch port to bring such a cool game to a wider audience. I mean, the same developer released Telling Lies (which I haven’t played) on console.
I highly recommend Death’s Door, especially at that price. I loved it so much that I even got the platinum trophy on PS5. And I’m really no trophy hunter.
That would be awesome. I’ve had RE2 remake in my backlog since before I picked up my PS5, and purposely didn’t start it just in case a next-gen upgrade should materialise. As soon as the update does go live, RE2 will definitely be the next game I start. And as I no longer subscribe to PS Plus, I may well pick up RE7 Biohazard, too.
Glad to see HFW and GT7 flying the flag for PlayStation in the charts. Kinda surprised that Elden Ring hasn’t returned to the top ten for a few weeks now though.
On PS5, I’ll be continuing my first ever playthrough of God of War (2018) this weekend and should have it wrapped up by next weekend.
Ahead of my first holiday abroad in 14 years this summer, I’m also trying to get back into playing my Switch, so I will try the Mario Strikers Battle League demo today and finish off my debut run of SteamWorld Dig 2.
Really happy to see Gran Turismo 7 move up from 10th to 5th place this week. GT7 is my game of the year so far, and I hope more people get to experience the game despite the negative press it initially attracted.
After finishing both Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Forbidden West in the past week or so, I’ve finally started God of War (2018). And what a game it is. I’m only around five hours in, but it’s absolutely incredible, especially at 60 frames per second on PS5, so I’ll be sticking with this one until it’s finished.
When I’m not using the living room TV, I’m also playing through SteamWorld Dig 2 on Switch. I’d say I’m about halfway through right now and I'm struggling to put it down. So addictive. Two incredible games that I’ll finally tick off from my backlog.
Have a great weekend everyone, and for those who’ll be watching, let’s hope the Champions League final will be a banger tonight!
All I’m thinking is Persona 4 Golden for PS5, PS4 or even Switch, but @ShogunRok is absolutely bang on. Take all those Persona-related dreams and ditch them, because we just know they won’t be bringing P4G to consoles… it makes too much sense to actually, you know, make tons of money.
Along with a bunch of other stuff, I’ve still got Death Stranding: Director’s Cut sitting in my PS5 backlog. I really should get around to playing it already.
@Col_McCafferty COYS indeed, my man! All we need is a point at Norwich and we’re back in the Champions League! Don’t know what makes me happier, Spurs doing so well or Arsenal completely capitulating?! Loved watching them against Newcastle on Monday. I cheered Bruno’s goal almost more than I do when Spurs score 😂
@ApostateMage Is Cyberpunk 2077 really that good on PS5? You’re kinda making me want to pick a copy up!
@ErrantRob @BritneyfR_ee You guys are really making me want to pick up Ghostwire Tokyo. I think the game looks gorgeous, but I’m a little put off by the £54.99 price of a physical copy. If (when?) I see it at half price, I’ll go for it.
After 85 incredible hours with the game, I finally popped the platinum trophy in Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut earlier this week. I’m really no trophy hunter, but I enjoyed Jin’s journey so much that I wanted to do everything there is to do in the game.
I also beat the the main story in Horizon Forbidden West only yesterday, so I may mop up some outstanding side quests and errands over the weekend. Though I definitely don’t love it quite enough to go for the platinum on this one. It’s a top PS5 title for sure, but it didn’t sink it’s teeth into me in the same way that Ghost did.
Other than that, I’ve still got a few cafe menu’s left to finish off in Gran Turismo 7 and I plan to finally start Elden Ring this weekend. Wish me luck! I’m certainly gonna need it.
@Pinkman Thanks for letting me know, man. Wow, that’s some praise! I’m definitely gonna man up and jump into Elden Ring once I’ve finished the HFW story. Any day now.
@munkholt @MFTWrecks @TBubs311 Thanks for the messages guys! You’ve made me feel much better about the challenge and more confident to just dive right in. I should be done with HFW in the next few days, then it’s straight over to Elden Ring. Thanks again my friends!
@OptionalStealth Oh man, I absolutely adore it. I even play through the game about once a year or so. I’ve beat it on iPad, Vita, PS4 and Switch, but seeing your Josef profile pic, I’m now kinda hankering for yet another playthrough. Maybe on PS5 this time… or my iPhone even. I just love Machinarium so much.
I’ve never actually really played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Well not properly anyway. I’ve played the opening couple hours on both PS4 and Switch, but I’ve been waiting for the PS5 upgrade before jumping in proper.
I could do with it coming out soon, too. I just finished off Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut this week, complete with platinum trophy, and at the moment, I’m in the final hours of Horizon: Forbidden West. So I’m ready for my next big open world action RPG. I do have Elden Ring booted up and ready to slot the disc in, but I’m man enough to say it… I’m scared. Maybe I should just jump in the deep end and start it already?
I’m a HUGE fan of Amanita and I’m definitely digging the art style again here. All their games are top drawer and I’m really looking forward to learning more about this one.
Oh and by the way, Machinarium is one of my favourite ever games. Certainly in my top twenty.
@Col_McCafferty Spurs fan here, too. So glad that Liverpool won. Here’s hoping we beat Burnley tomorrow and Arsenal drop points at Newcastle on Monday evening.
As for what I’m playing this weekend. Just need to mop up four trophies for the Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut platinum, so I’ll work on that. No clue how to kill an enemy by knocking them off a ledge though. I’ll also try out the new difficulty options on Sifu and taste a few cafe menu’s in Gran Turismo 7, which is my game of 2022 so far. I done the Rally stages from the cafe last weekend and had a blast with the Focus WRC car. So much fun.
As well as my PS5, I own a Switch OLED and a Series S, and I rarely touch either of them. I adore my PS5 and play it constantly. Between Ghost of Tsushima and Gran Turismo 7 alone, I’ve chalked up more than 130 hours of blissful gaming. Throw in Horizon, Ratchet and Clank, Returnal, the Spider-Man games, Astro’s Playroom, Demon Souls and Death Stranding, and I don’t think you can reasonably ask for much more. I’m super happy with my PS5 and I can’t wait to see what more it brings in the future.
After 70 glorious hours, I finally finished Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut this past week, but I still can’t put the game down. I kinda want to save Iki Island for later down the track, so I’m going to mop up a bunch of leftover side missions and shrines, etc and maybe even give the platinum a go.
Elsewhere, despite not really being that much into super difficult games, I recently buckled and picked up a copy of the fabled, Elden Ring. I’m slowly gearing myself up to get past the intimidation factor and boot it up. This weekend perhaps?
Other than that, I’ve not played Gran Turismo 7 in a week or two, so I’ll try and squeeze in a couple more menu’s from the cafe, and I’ve still got The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe loaded up and ready to start, too. Seriously, there’s tons of great stuff to play on PlayStation right now, just not enough hours in the day.
Still haven’t yet picked this up, but I plan on doing so once I’ve chalked off a few more games from the ol’ backlog. Just finished Ghost of Tsushima on PS5, but I enjoyed it so much, I may well have a crack at the platinum. Still, I’m looking forward to getting around to OlliOlli World… eventually!
I’ll try the opening half hour on my Series S and if I dig it, I’ll grab the PS5 version. If not, I’ll at least give the game a full playthrough courtesy of Game Pass. I mean, it’s so gorgeous, it’d almost be a crime not to.
@DTfeartheBEARD Can I ask a super quick question about that Vengeance Edition you mentioned, buddy? Is the steelbook case instead of, or as well as, a regular plastic case?
I’ve been thinking about buying the physical for Sifu, but as all my other PS5 games are in regular cases, I’d rather not have an odd one out. Though, regardless of your answer, I’ll probably get it in any case (pun definitely intended).
@ShogunRok Thanks for the reply, man. As long as the Push Square review is positive, I’ll definitely pick this one up. I’ve also just realised that Trek to Yomi is also on Game Pass, so I can always give it a try on my Series S if the review isn’t particularly positive. If it’s a game that clicks with me, as my main console, I’ll have to have it on my PS5.
As someone who has just recently put 70 hours into Ghost of Tsushima on PS5, I’m well up for this. Though I do want to see a review first. Do we know when the embargo is up?
I’ve taken a break from Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West this week to resume my playthrough of Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut. I’m now 52 hours in and on the final stretch this weekend.
Awesome news! Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West and Lego Star Wars (in that particular order) are my favourite games of the year so far, so it’s great to see them take the top three spots in the charts.
Definitely Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for me this weekend. I knew it’d be good after reading the reviews, but I really didn’t expect to enjoy it quite this much. Pure unadulterated fun. Just what a good video game should be. I’ll no doubt also squeeze in a few races in Gran Turismo 7, which I totally adore.
Comfortably Gran Turismo 7 for me. Horizon Forbidden West is second, but I should say that I haven’t yet played Elden Ring. It’s been a great year so far, and we still have two thirds of 2022 to go!
Additionally, I’m four or five hours into Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and I’m having an absolute blast with the game. I can absolutely see this daft Lego game becoming one of my favourite titles on the system this year, maybe even of the generation to date. Nostalgia is definitely strong in this one!
Despite buying The Witcher 3 on both PS4 and Nintendo Switch, I’ve still not played much beyond the opening couple hours on either console. I’m now just waiting on the perpetually delayed PS5 upgrade before jumping in to finally see what all the fuss is about. And I really can’t wait!
With the exception of Elden Ring (which I really want) and Call of Duty Vanguard (which I really don’t), I have all of the games listed already.
Yep, my physical PS5 collection is growing rather nicely, but Elden Ring will have to wait until I beat Demon’s Souls, which I very much doubt will happen any time soon.. especially given the fact that I literally cannot stop playing anything other than Gran Turismo 7, which is my favourite game of any console in years!
I’ll be playing my GOTYSF (Game of the Year so far), Gran Turismo 7 this weekend. I was extremely sick last weekend and ended up in hospital for three days, so taking pity on me, my wife preordered me a copy of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, so I’ll be continuing with that, too. I finished A New Hope the other day and I’m really looking forward to playing through my favourite of all nine movies, The Empire Strikes Back! It’s a gorgeous game and a ton of fun to play.
I’m just surprised it’s only £15.99 on the UK’s PSN store! Even though it’ll be 'free' on Xbox Game Pass, Trek to Yomi still looks like great value, so I’ll be playing on Playstation for sure. This and Stray are the two indies I’m most excited for on PS5.
This is incredible news for fellow Point and Click fans. Now, in the meantime, just re-release the Special Edition’s of the first two Monkey Island games, please. Pretty please?
After nearly forty hours with the fabulous Gran Turismo 7, I’ll be working my way up to fifty over the course of the weekend.
Only problem is, when I played a couple quick races last night, the right side haptics suddenly stopped working on my DualSense. Fingers crossed that it’s okay when I boot it back up later. I really don’t need another £55 expenditure right now.
Other than that, I really must get back to Horizon Forbidden West and my fresh playthrough of Grand Theft Auto V on PS5. Also, after falling off around halfway through, I’ve also got Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut on the back burner. Away from Playstation, I’m a few hours into the deceptively difficult Tunic on my Series S. Really hoping this one makes it’s way to PS5 once Microsoft’s exclusivity period is over.
I was all up for this when it was originally announced, but all this time later, and with so many all-new games to play, I’m slightly nonplussed by the news of its impending release now. Maybe a bunch of positive reviews will reignite my enthusiasm for this one. No word on pricing, yet?
[EDIT] I noticed that the Nintendo Switch version is £19.99 on the eShop, so I’m guessing that’s what it’ll be on PS5, too.
Okay, so I’m now actually genuinely interested in PS Plus for the first time since PS5 launched. I might dip in for a couple months and see how it is before considering any annual purchase.
Lots more Gran Turismo 7 for me! I’m completely addicted to the sublime handling model and seriously moreish single-player progression system. So much so in fact, that two thirds of the way through, I’ve totally put Horizon Forbidden West on the back burner – though I do plan on switching discs after the weekend and finishing my journey through Guerilla’s stunning sequel next week.
Over on Nintendo Switch meanwhile, I’ll also squeeze in some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the kids. After close to a hundred hours of getting to know all 48 courses like the back of our hands, we’re now enjoying the comparatively fresh booster pass courses.
This is exactly what I wanted to hear. Gran Turismo 7 just got even better, and the ability to sell cars will be cool, too. I’m probably in the minority, but for me at least, GT7 is knocking on the door of being a 10/10 game. It’s definitely my favourite PS5 game to date.
Too busy being addicted to Gran Turismo 7, plus after 36 or so hours, I have Horizon Forbidden West to finish off, too. But once that’s sorted, I’m going straight back to Returnal. How I’ve missed it these past few months!

Re: Return to Monkey Island Revives the Classic Point and Click Series in 2022
This is incredible news for fellow Point and Click fans. Now, in the meantime, just re-release the Special Edition’s of the first two Monkey Island games, please. Pretty please?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 420
Re: The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe Finally Launches This April on PS5, PS4
I was all up for this when it was originally announced, but all this time later, and with so many all-new games to play, I’m slightly nonplussed by the news of its impending release now. Maybe a bunch of positive reviews will reignite my enthusiasm for this one. No word on pricing, yet?
[EDIT] I noticed that the Nintendo Switch version is £19.99 on the eShop, so I’m guessing that’s what it’ll be on PS5, too.
Re: Horizon Forbidden West Patch 1.09 Is Out Now, Here Are the Patch Notes
I do like that Guerilla and Polyphony are rolling these patches out for HFW and GT7, respectively. Always appreciate some detailed patch notes.
Re: PS Plus, PS Now Merged Service Revealed, Goes Live in June
Okay, so I’m now actually genuinely interested in PS Plus for the first time since PS5 launched. I might dip in for a couple months and see how it is before considering any annual purchase.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 419
Happy gaming, folks!
Re: Gran Turismo 7 Currency Rewards to Be Increased Following Player Backlash
This is exactly what I wanted to hear. Gran Turismo 7 just got even better, and the ability to sell cars will be cool, too. I’m probably in the minority, but for me at least, GT7 is knocking on the door of being a 10/10 game. It’s definitely my favourite PS5 game to date.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Returnal's Ascension Update?
Too busy being addicted to Gran Turismo 7, plus after 36 or so hours, I have Horizon Forbidden West to finish off, too. But once that’s sorted, I’m going straight back to Returnal. How I’ve missed it these past few months!
