Re: Poll: Are You Playing the Stellar Blade Demo?

@Max_the_German @soyabean135876 I loved the demo, but I totally understand both your comments about the combat. It felt much more slow and deliberate than I expected, and initially did feel off to me. Seems like taking a more defensive, reserved approach is the game, at least in the beginning. But once it clicked and I understood the pacing of the combat, I began to do very well. Looking at the skill trees, though, I imagine you can become a lot more quick and aggressive as the game progresses. The awesomeness of this game has totally caught me off guard!

@adamnovice There’s an option in the menu to set pick-up collection to auto. Not sure why they default to off, but it’s there! Breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that, was totally annoying!

Tonight is the night! Pausing my Rebirth journey to rock some Stella Blade!

Edit: WOW! Fantastic demo, absolutely in love with this game already. Gameplay is fantastic, and LOVE the creature design. Now I have to finish Rebirth in 3 weeks… Preordered!

Yeesh, bummer… This after the masterpiece that was Wo Long. Maybe this was the wrong direction for Team Ninja... I sincerely hope that they can bounce back from this for their hardcore fans. I love their recent work, but this sounds like one to skip… 😥 Time to read other reviews

Edit: reviews seem to be floating around 7/8 from most sites, this being a bit lower obviously. Guess it depends on how you feel about this open world design

Rebirth sitting on my shelf unopened while I finally tackle the Wo Long DLC. Not gonna lie, Rebirth might continue to sit there bc now I’m excited for Rise of the Ronin. I’m not super jazzed about open world, but I KNOW the combat will be fantastic, as will the character building, so…

Re: Naughty Dog Boss Neil Druckmann Doesn't Want to Make Games Forever

@ZhuckelDror You’re assuming a whole lot about his intentions. The job of an artist is to challenge expectations and bring something new into the world. Obviously there is risk involved with that, in terms of alienating their audience, but the point I’m making is that gamer culture makes it really hard sometimes for artists to take risks.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 513

Finishing up Jedi Survivor and really enjoying mopping up all the collectibles. Then it’s back to Armored Core VI, and then need to finally finish Elden Ring in preparation for the DLC. Also hoping to do another quick play through of FF7R before Rebirth comes out. And God of War Ragnarok is just sittin’ there unopened. Good lord…

Re: Tekken 8's Opening Movie Is a Stunner, Eddy Gordo Confirmed as First DLC Character

Tekken 8 is an absolute winner. The demo made it pretty evident that it’s going to be a smash hit.

But… it also reminded me of how complex Tekken is, and the high bar of memorizing combo strings and moves just doesn’t work me for me any more. Sad to say that I cancelled my preorder after playing the demo.

But yeah, dedicated fighting game and Tekken fans are about to eat reeeeeal good!

PS - there are SO many characters to choose from at launch, so can’t feel too burnt by upcoming DLC characters.
