I hope we can get back to the horror with these two. Resident Evil 4 was just too much action and set pieces and not enough survival horror for me. I’m good on leveling up guns and watching treasure explode out of corpses. Scares and survival please!
I really want to play this game, but the comments about walking in circles, unrewarding exploration, sifting through text logs, and needing a physical notebook to keep track of codes and such have totally turned me off. Just don’t have the time and patience for that kind of gaming anymore, sadly…
@sop Neuromancer is insane and amazing! Currently working my way through the Blazing Chrome short story collection, and then on to Pattern Recognition!
My question is where will the money from physical sales of Hi-Fi Rush go? Certainly not to anyone at Tango Gameworks since they’re no longer with the company, right? I’m pretty uninformed as to how this sort of business stuff works, but I’d assume the money will all go to Microsoft? So… Let’s all not buy the physical edition if that’s the case? Thoughts and/or knowledge?
lol to characters and enemies wailing away on each other in combat with zero reaction. Old school indeed, this game looks archaic. Wake me when Steelrising 2 comes out.
Been able to jam some Stellar Blade on my Portal here and there, and it’s been very playable. Looking forward to playing Baldur’s Gate 3 whenever my physical copy shows up. Super happy with the Portal!
@GamingFan4Lyf Agreed. Although, it would be interesting to peek into another dimension where they actually DID release a physical edition, and see if that increased sales and if they came out even.
Ummmm, just recently got to the desert area and taking my tiiiiiiiiiime. Looking forward to NG+ eventually though!
Regarding difficulty in NG+, seems like some folks like the feeling of being super OP with all your skills intact, and others want the skills but expect a tougher experience. Sounds like they need to add a very hard!
Really enjoyed both 7 and 8. Longtime fan of the series, and those two really reignited my love for Resident Evil. Great characters and gameplay, and both felt very fresh, despite obvious influences. Unpopular take… I didn’t really enjoy the RE4 remake. Not sure why, just got bored of it by the island. Looking forward to 9 hopefully continuing on the path set by 7/8. Also hope Capcom gives fans the Veronica remake, mostly so we can stop hearing about it…
Fallout 3 was a revelation in gaming for me back in the day. I can still remember the joys and horrors of that experience. New Vegas was a WILD ride. Fallout 4… existed.
They should remaster 3 and/or New Vegas…
This looks really interesting, love the art style. Reminds me of Star Renegades, which I played the s**t out of. Need to see some combat gameplay though. Also wondering how story and dialogue will be delivered… is it fully voiced? Looks promising though!
Putting some faith in Bloober here. Will the Silent Hill 2 Remake be perfect? Absolutely not. But my gut tells me that they’re going to nail it. They clearly realize that they can’t muck around with this property, and that this is a “make it or break it” moment for their careers. They got this!
This came out of nowhere and sounds fantastic! Spongbob X Sekiro sounds like a match made in heaven. Adding to the wishlist! Hopefully bugs will be squashed by a patch or two.
@GeeEssEff I felt the same; expected and really wanted to love it, but it just didn’t click. Everything felt a bit stiff to me, and I just wasn’t having fun playing it. The world was great though. It sounds like they’ve made some big improvements for the sequel, but I’m hesitant… Hopefully they release a demo.
I’m guessing the excitement of the franchise being remade has died down. Remake was a huge moment, but this game, not quite as much. Plus pandemic and larger install base, and yeah, makes sense. Happy with my day-one purchase, though!
I played the Stellar Blade demo because it was a new IP; then I went on to complete it twice because it was so good, which I’ve never done before. I didn’t play the Rebirth demo at all, but I already had it preordered and kind of knew what to expect. I imagine this may be the case with a lot of folks?
I’d prefer a new game entirely. Dead Space 2 was always my least favorite in the series, and felt like more of the same. Dead Space 3, despite its obvious flaws, introduced the weapon building, which was super fun and felt like a natural evolution. So… please give me a NEW Dead Space where Isaac can engineer his own weapon combos using salvaged parts, with more exploration of semi-open environments (i.e., not completely linear). 🙃
A consistent 30 isn’t a dealbreaker for me, but yeah… I will always prefer 60. A bit disappointing that we’re still having to talk about this after the big talk Sony gave us when it launched the PS5. 🫤
@Loamy @lifegirl Couldn’t this inherently add to immersion, having your character more closely aligned with your personal identity, even if you only see them a couple times? Being more inclusive is always a good thing, and not “that kinda ****”. 🙄
Even without the hard mode skin suit, there will be plenty for people to oogle lol. The suit she had on in the demo for boss challenge was plenty jiggly and had under-boob aplenty…
@Max_the_German @soyabean135876 I loved the demo, but I totally understand both your comments about the combat. It felt much more slow and deliberate than I expected, and initially did feel off to me. Seems like taking a more defensive, reserved approach is the game, at least in the beginning. But once it clicked and I understood the pacing of the combat, I began to do very well. Looking at the skill trees, though, I imagine you can become a lot more quick and aggressive as the game progresses. The awesomeness of this game has totally caught me off guard!
@adamnovice There’s an option in the menu to set pick-up collection to auto. Not sure why they default to off, but it’s there! Breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that, was totally annoying!
Tonight is the night! Pausing my Rebirth journey to rock some Stella Blade!
Edit: WOW! Fantastic demo, absolutely in love with this game already. Gameplay is fantastic, and LOVE the creature design. Now I have to finish Rebirth in 3 weeks… Preordered!
@get2sammyb Agreed, the art direction with the character design looks great, and the team ups and combo possibilities look fun. Not my genre, but I can see this being pretty successful.
I remember really enjoying the first Grandia on PlayStation back in the day. Never got a chance to play the second game, which sounds like it improved everything. I imagine this won’t sell super well and will be on sale soon enough.
Seems like a lot to like here, but also noticing that the melee combat looks the same throughout the entire video. Ashen was a solid game, but it had a similar problem of boring melee combat. Still, one to keep an eye on..
Yeesh, bummer… This after the masterpiece that was Wo Long. Maybe this was the wrong direction for Team Ninja... I sincerely hope that they can bounce back from this for their hardcore fans. I love their recent work, but this sounds like one to skip… 😥 Time to read other reviews
Edit: reviews seem to be floating around 7/8 from most sites, this being a bit lower obviously. Guess it depends on how you feel about this open world design
Rebirth sitting on my shelf unopened while I finally tackle the Wo Long DLC. Not gonna lie, Rebirth might continue to sit there bc now I’m excited for Rise of the Ronin. I’m not super jazzed about open world, but I KNOW the combat will be fantastic, as will the character building, so…
Thanks, but no thanks. Shelled out for a PS5 at launch and I l love it, but without exciting games on the horizon to really put this tech to use it’s a no from me. I’m sure it’ll sell like crazy though… 🙄
Gameplay looks fantastic, Team Ninja doesn’t miss in that department. I’m not crazy about the move to open world though and heavier story, but they’re such fantastic developers, willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. That said, I just don’t have time to play this right now…
Really interested to see how this turns out. My gut instinct tells me that all this sexy costume business has been added to distract players and compensate for poor gameplay, but I could be dead wrong and the game may turn out to be an absolute blast. We shall see!
This looks super interesting and unique, like a mix of defense sim and action RPG. Pikmin X Devil May Cry. And the art direction is amazing. That creature design - wow! Definitely has my attention. Looking forward to seeing reviewers thoughts on it when it releases, but I’m excited.
@ZhuckelDror You’re assuming a whole lot about his intentions. The job of an artist is to challenge expectations and bring something new into the world. Obviously there is risk involved with that, in terms of alienating their audience, but the point I’m making is that gamer culture makes it really hard sometimes for artists to take risks.

Amazing that they got overtime pay. That’s the salary trap, usually; salary = no overtime.
Re: Stellar Blade PS5 Patch 1.003 Brings a Challenge Mode, New Outfits
Enemy lock-on retention after killing a monster will be FABULOUS! My #1 ask for updates, for sure. Shift-Up is killin’ it!
