Re: Arrowhead Confirms Helldivers 2 PS5 Patch, Matchmaking Fixes Inbound

AdamNovice

Me and my nephew have been playing it tonight and are loving it.
It has a good mix of shooter and strategy, the war bonds don't seem to be too grindy especially if you play either medium or up. Super credits aren't hard to come by both in the bonds and in game. I just wish it had a more Apex style pin system to let teammates know about points of interest.

Re: Fans Outraged at Rocksteady's Handling of Hero Deaths in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

"Everyone is entitled to their opinions, of course, but this is Rocksteady's story, and they're entitled to tell it how they like"
I've heard that argument before with TLOU2 but it still didn't make it good or acted as a huge disservice to beloved characters, or the previous games that got them the fanbase to begin with. It doesn't help when things like this leads to people's legit criticism getting so easily dismissed.

Re: The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered (PS5) - A Near Perfect Package for New and Returning Fans

AdamNovice

"At the very least it will ensure parity between The Last of Us: Part 1 remake and this, meaning the whole story can be experienced in one seamless and consistent level of quality"

I do wonder if that's part of Sony's motivation for doing these Remakes/remasters outside the obvious commercial ones. It'll be interesting to see if the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster is on par visually with Forbidden West.

I have my issues with Part 2 but one aspect ND nailed is the combat. No game for me has ever truly made combat look so desperate and a constant feeling of been on the razor's edge.

Re: PS5 Had Sony's Best Year in Japan for Almost 20 Years

AdamNovice

It makes me laugh how people think Japan Studio was the only "creative" studio Sony had. If more people actually bought their games day one then they did bemoaning there devolution (they turned into Team Asobi let's not forget) then maybe they'd still be around.
Last gen taught Sony that whatever AA or low budget game they made...no one was interested, the list was extensive.
Alienation
Matterfall
Fat Princess Adventures
Everybody's gone to the Rapture
Hohokum
Kill Strain
Everybody's Golf
Concrete Genie
Entwined
Medievil
Drawn to Death
The Last Guardian
Hardware Rivals
Gravity Rush 2
Dreams
And Knack 1 + 2
All failed to do anything sales wise. So Sony obviously saw it as "ok you only want the AAA blockbusters"
So a change of strategy for PS5, double down on AAA, invest in live service games so they can get recurring revenue. And partner with select indie games such as Kena, Sifu, Tcihia and Humanity.

Re: 18 PS5 Predictions for 2024

AdamNovice

My predictions are:
Helldivers 2 is a moderate success and leads to Sony acquiring Arrowhead Games.

A new Twisted Metal is announced for a 2025 release to coincide with series 2 of the TV show.

New Astro game releases this year that can be played on PS5 and PSVR2.

Concord releases late 2024 but struggles to find a decent player base.

This year Sony will not have a game in the running for GOTY at The Game Awards for the first time in 10 years.

Moon Studio's No Rest for the Wicked will be the highest rated PS5 game this year.

Horizon Zero Dawn remake releases in September this year...much old man shouts at cloud energy ensures.

And finally Insomniac will announce a Venom game.
