@Shad361 tbh It makes more sense for people to think it is an exclusive, Atlus rarely releases multiplat and I think I can count on one hand the amount of new games they did over the last 20 years that weren't exclusives.
@tpepper1985 As someone who had both Extra and Switch Online subscriptions I will say that the changes they did to my consumer habits was bare miminum.
Unlike GamePass both lack the D1 appeal and such only older games, and on Switch's case take that literally, are available for download.
But all in all I don't think GamePass or the smaller playerbase is the reason devs are skipping Xbox, as a dev the only thing that stops me from using a product is the lack of support and Microsoft has been kinda lacking that lately.
If you have to ask then its another reason for a dev to avoid you, because it means you cannot see any problem with the business model you have.
Anyways, from what I've gathered from some developers it mainly boils down to "Its a hassle". Its like developing for Mac, too many checkbox to check and too little return.
Given that Star Wars Outlaws sold just 1M copies according to some portals, I can see why Shadows got delayed.
Will they fix anything? No, Ubisoft will just wait till the dust settles down. Honestly I would just scratch the whole thing and get a tax discount, worked for Warner and the Batgirl movie.
Because it pulls from the latest "Official News" feed, and most games don't have those and some games official news may be from earlier this year or even older.
Look at BG3 and CP2077 for example, both background images and text flavor pulls from the patch notes, meanwhile Astro Bot which is a recent game with no news feed just show the standard text flavor and background image.
I haven't seen any ads, but this news feed is annoying.
EDIT: Yeah, seems like a UI problem, some games are affected but not every game, mainly the ones that publish patch notes and videos.
Kinda reminds me of an article where people said that bringing Sora to Smash was quite the task not because of Disney, who is fine with almost anything as long you pay the licensing fee, but rather because of Square, since each IP they own is managed differently and people from FF team like to make things difficult.
Main reason why you get a 2B cameo on some random game every full moon is because Yoko Taro's team manages the IP and they are pretty easy to get in touch.
Honestly I fail to see how that is bad in any shape or form, Sony has never managed to outsell a good Nintendo console for long. Managing to move the same amount of units as a $200 hardware despite being almost double the price is quite the feat.
Wanna see a tanked console? Xbox series all time sales is still less than Switch on a good month. The nintendo behemoth is capable of outselling the green team on a 10:1 basis constantly.
Eh, tbh I couldn't care less about how they changed models, what I want to see is more technical changes.
Spidey Remastered changed the material pipeline, went from specular based to metal based or something like that, can't remeber the GDC talk, and how the light affected those materials along with RT tech. The result was a better looking game overall.
Let Sucker Punch cook and then you say whatever is your piece. Also, from what I've read Yotei is a spin-off not a sequel, you'll still get Jin back at some point on the unavoidable GoT2.
@thefourfoldroot1 The patent itself is kinda generic and probably wouldn't hold out in court, but when you factor in that Palworld also uses a spherical object... then yeah, now Nintendo has a case because throwing a ball to capture a monster is often associated with a certain game.
I wonder if those people even KNOW GOG is a thing that exists just for cases like this where you don't want DRM or sign-ins, I own the entire Arkham series there and on Steam, the difference being WB account is not mandatory on GOG.
Also, gotta love how bipolar the PC crowd is, because when the Helldivers 2 fiasco happened they complained because nowhere it was stated that PSN account was mandatory, now it was stated time and time again and they still complain.
Sounds like a severe case of "Its only a problem when Sony does it". Besides, if that is really a problem for some people why not wait for the GoG version then? You already waited 18 months for a port.
I do not mind remasters, but they need to be from games at least two generations behind. I mean, they got Infamous, Resistance and Killzone which are IPs that could use some love.
Anyways, we all know those remasters are not only for a new crowd to enjoy those """old""" games, they also serve to gauge public reactions.
Both Horizon Forbidden West and TLOU Part 2 sold pretty damn well and are awesome games on the technical level, but they also had a moderate resistance from the general public due to some plot and character developments, resistance that wasn't there on their predecessors, and so releasing a remaster is a way to see where they f'ed up and where they can correct the course.
I'd say Ragnarok and Spidey 2 also suffer from the same problems as FW and TLOU2, but they can be fixed by pacing the plot better, and on Spidey case, please no more switching between characters, it detracts from the game.
Dunno, but I always felt like PocketPair was violating something with Palworld, I always thought it was copyright but it seems Nintendo has filled some patents.
Given that DD2 sales is considered a flop by Square's standards, yet it is celebrated at Capcom, I wonder what are the metrics they use for their expectations...
Good, people who were complaining about Sony not utilizing their IPs must understand that it costs money, a lot of money, to develop games.
The entire development cycle of something like MediEvil Remake costs the same as a year of God of War Ragnarok, yet it won't sell as much as that game.
Licensing some of your IPs for other studios is probably the future since it cuts the development costs by nearly 60%.
"PCs are difficult to set up" Mainly because Windows Update forcing things up yours every other week if you don't go to the register and disable some things.
Honestly, the day people throw everything Microsoft related in the garbage will be a better day for the world.
Why do I feel there's more to this story? Anyways, since all the technical staff pulled out they could probably start a new company, this time with less shenanigans involved.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I'll be honest, couldn't see **** captain. For me its the same as seeing an OLED tv review by youtube, I can grasp what they are saying but for me to see any real difference I have to be there and test it myself.
All in all, I'm probably the target of PS5 Pro since my library is 100% digital, however I'll wait to see how it performs and maybe I'll get one once the next batch of first party titles arrive.

Downgraded? You mean upgraded right?
Re: Silent Hill 2 PS5 Update Removes Italian Language Intro Spoilers
Spoilers for a remake of a 20 year old game? I think people are at least 20 years late if they want to avoid that.
Re: PS5 Fans Believe Halo Could Make Its PlayStation Debut
Wait, so, Microsoft, you have idTech7 and still went with UE5?
Are you high or dumb?

Re: Atlus Fans Don't Think Xbox's Marketing Is Doing Metaphor: ReFantazio Justice
I wouldn't say it was a bad move, because at the end of the day exclusivity and marketing deals exist to make releasing a game possible.
But it is a move that probably will not pay out.

Nah, "only fire when I tell you to fire."

Nice, it was one of my biggest gripes with the OG version.
Re: Until Dawn PS5 Remake's New Ending Leaked, May Hint at Possible Sequel
Didn't read the news but well, it is a reason to buy Until Dawn Remake.
Honestly I'm curious to see how well it runs first, because the OG wasn't the best game when it comes to performance.

Re: Sony Product Manager Urges PS5 Fans to 'Settle Down' Over Ads
Funny, I said it was a bug on one of the other articles and it turns out it was a bug indeed.
But the green bots have been already paid to say it was a feature to push ads and they will blindly believe it was so.
Re: PS5 Fans Want to Protest Against New User Interface Advertising
The more I see it the more it looks like a bug.
Because it pulls from the latest "Official News" feed, and most games don't have those and some games official news may be from earlier this year or even older.

Because if so then my wallet will vote with that version.
Re: Star Wars Outlaws' Rescue Roadmap Provides a Snapshot of Modern PS5 Gaming
I don't think Ubi will manage to pull a CP2077/No Man's Sky.
Not because its impossible, core gameplay is fine from what I've seen, but rather because the game failed to gather interest from people.
If a game isn't interesting then people won't bother with it.

Re: Ubisoft Backs Out of Tokyo Game Show at Eleventh Hour, Cancels Livestream
