Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?

@SuntannedDuck2
TBH we are in a flash ram shortage right now, prices of everything from SSDs/RAM/VRAM is going up to the point some GPU manufacturers are releasing cards with memory downgrades.

Case in point, 4070 Super with GDDR6 instead of the more expensive GDDR6X

Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?

CielloArc

Right now? Sure it is, we don't even have games that will take advantage of this new tech.

I'll do what I did with PS4 Pro and wait 2 years before buying one, by the time I get one there will be plenty of games to play anyways.

@AdamNovice
Live service push wasn't wrong, its the way they did that was wrong.

It is almost like the ones responsible to deliver reports forgot to do basic market research, figure out what genres were strong within the platform, which one could trend, who is the target demographic and so on.

If this was done properly, I doubt Sony would buy the studio or better, if this was done properly Concord would be a very different game.

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

I always find funny that its people from the art department losing their marbles when it comes to AI, it won't hit them and if it hits it will be probably on things that affects the pipeline and not them directly.

Its more cost effective to apply AI when it comes to coding than it is when it comes to 3D modeling, sound, mocap and so on, since code is easier to automate and doesn't depend on things like "artistic style".

Re: Talking Point: Can PS5, PC Shooter Concord Be Saved?

CielloArc

Nah, core gameplay isn't engaging enough and character design isn't attractive enough.

This isn't a No Man's Sky/Cyberpunk situation, where the core gameplay was solid and they just needed time to fix things, this is a real design problem and the only solution is to scrap all, like they did with FF14 1.0

Re: Things Are Getting Worse for Floundering PS5, PC FPS Concord

CielloArc

I'd bet that a fighting game and a MMO would also fare better than Concord and Fairgame$ too, Playstation as a brand is already familiar with both genres and there's a good track record from other games like that since the PS3 era.

When it comes to GAAS, instead of chasing whatever is in vogue, they should focus on games that fit their current playerbase or at least on games that could fill a gap in their current lineup.

Helldivers 2 is literally a good example of a GAAS that works well for Sony, there's a lack of PvE coop games.

Re: PS5, PC FPS Concord's Poor Player Numbers Have Predictably Gone Viral

CielloArc

Jesus christ, that's a lot of comments.
Anyways, compare Concord with Helldivers 2, both are live service but one was well received.

Sony NEEDS more games like Helldivers 2 and less games like Concord. I for one would like to see something like a fighting game from Sony, or maybe a MMO.

Bottom line is there are better alternatives to enter the live service market, hero shooters aren't hot right now.

Re: Stellar Blade Dev Expects to Sell More Copies on PC Than PS5

@Specky Consoles will never be able to fully support mods because they are a closed ecosystem and mods inherently tamper with a lot of stuff that is handled by the anti-piracy security those systems have in place.

What some game haves are """mods""", which are basically DLCs allowed by both console manufacturers and game publishers.
