@shonenjump86 I picked it up last week, and I'm about four hours in so far. It is my first DMC so I can't really judge the changes to the character, but I do like the character, story, and gameplay. I'd recommend it especially if you have PS Plus it is only $9.99.
My vacation is almost over as I start school up again on Monday. I managed to play a lot over break and pick up some new games recently. Yesterday I managed to snag my local Gamestop’s only copy of Nier: Automata on sale for $30. When I’m not studying for my upcoming exam I’ll be playing through that and possibly mixing in some Telltale’s Batman, DMC, and Darksiders 2.
I’ve already put some time into Destiny 2 this weekend. Despite the poor reviews of the DLC, the slight improvements to the end game have made me come back hungry to grind to max power level on my warlock, hunter, and Titan. Hopefully next week’s ‘The Dawning’ event doesn’t disappoint. After I finish up my exams next week I’ll playing that like crazy.
I love this game. It definitely is underrated due to the many games that overshadowed [of war] it this year. I’d recommend this game to anyone who liked Shadow of Mordor, the Arkham games, or LOTR in general. It’s a bigger and better Shadow of Mordor. The combat is very deep when you really dive into the stats and abilities of the armor and weapons and combine them with the plethora of skills in the game. After I finished the main story and all of the collectibles I put the game down to play assassins creed. But I kept thinking about Shadow of war, and due to limited HD space I could not immediately play it cause I had to make room for AC: Origins. However, I ended up getting a little bored of Origins grinding out side quests in order to rank up so that I could be a high enough level to do the next story mission. So I did the switch back and put Origins aside so that I could keep playing shadow of war. The gameplay is just so fluid and deep. There are so many unique moments and stories that you have personally with the different orcs and I have so many laugh out loud memories. I just can’t recommend this game enough. If you’re on the fence about getting the game I’d highly recommend you do it. The micro transactions are hardly noticeable. They are a non-issue, and the game just gets better as you play and unlock more skills. It’s just so much fun. And to answer the question in the article, yes, I am excited about online pit fights.
@gingerfrog yeah, there’s definitely weird stigma surrounding Call of Duty and other games. Generally, the hardcore call of duty players solely play call of duty and it’s heresy to play other games. And on the other hand, casual cod players try it out every year for campaign, zombies then a little bit of multiplayer. Then there’s me, I am a pretty hardcore cod player (played every release since CoD3 generally putting 7-20 days worth of playtime in multiplayer), but I also play most major releases. I love games in general and would get bored if I only played CoD. I feel as though gaming news outlets like PushSquare, IGN, kindafunny, and easy allies never have a hardcore COD player voicing his opinion. Most of the time it seems Call of Duty gets put into this bubble that other annually released games do. The negative stigma probably has to do with the thought that the multiplayer is full of young immature kids squeaking profanities through their mics. This may be true at times there are still the veterans that love the game every year and keep coming back for the amazing gunplay and cinematics. Sorry for that rant haha. This has been on my chest for awhile. I need to write a soapbox about this to get all my thoughts down and points across. I’m just frustrated that there aren’t more cod players representing themselves on gaming news outlets and that there are some of us that play cod everyday but also play hellblade, horizon, TLOU, uncharted, assassins creed, shadow of war, etc. you get the point.
I’ve got three exams to study for coming up next week, but I might be able to squeeze in some gaming at night when I’m too tired to study, but too awake to sleep. Last night, I managed to make some progress in The Frozen Wilds after completing the opening mission a couple weeks ago. I’m enjoying it so far and forgot how smooth and fun the combat is. However, I’ve been playing Shadow of War a lot lately and just finished the end game to get the true ending, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I only need a few more trophies in that game for the platinum, however, I just love it so much and do not want to be done with it. I might hold off completing those last few trophies so that I come back when the DLC is released with more to do. Such a fun game. I’m also sprinkling in some WWII action in there, and prepping myself for the Curse of Osiris DLC for Destiny 2 on Tuesday.
COD: WWII for me. I’ve been playing CoD religiously since 2006 so this is an easy one for me. It’s been a frustrating launch to say this least, but it’s definitely a great game and worth checking for the amount of content it provides.
A little but of everything. Getting a switch for Christmas so it’ll be all Zelda and Mario for awhile. I love my PS4 though and haven’t strayed from PlayStation in a LONG time. We’ll see how I take to the switch.
I’m actually really happy with this! Been eyeing Darksiders for a long time now. I’ve always wanted to give it a try. I’m getting a Switch with Zelda for Christmas and it’ll be my first Zelda game! Crazy, I know! I hear this game takes a lot of gameplay inspiration from Zelda and god of war. Sounds like a good time to me and good prep for Breath of the Wild.
Just picked this game up a few days ago. I’m loving it so far. I loved the developer diaries they released up until the game’s release. Those are what got me so interested in the game, and I don’t know about anyone else, but I am a sucker for behind-the-scenes footage.
That was very moving. It makes me want to go buy it right now and support Ninja Theory. I've been interested in this game for years and still haven't even bought it yet, and I'm not sure why. Now,... I'll be able to play it if only I could just pull myself away from Destiny 2 and Shadow of War.
This is awesome! I'm from Seattle, and I love seeing the city in video games. Infamous: Second Son is one of my favorite games, and their interpretation of Seattle was spot on. Granted, the Sucker Punch studio is right there next to Seattle so it makes sense. I'm interested to see Naughty Dog's take on a post-apocalyptic version of it. Also, Troy Baker is in both of these games. Interesting.
I would like any of these games, and I think they are realistic. I don't own any of these, but I'd like to especially if they were free or on sale.
Lords of the Fallen The Evil Within Bound By Flame Gone Home Soma Shovel Knight The Banner Saga Alien Isolation Walking Dead Season 1 Darksiders 2 Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin (this one might be a stretch)
Finished and platted Life is Strange last night. Started Wolfenstein: The New Order today. I'm enjoying some crazy FPS action because I haven't played a shooter in awhile.
I have a huge backlog currently, like many of you, but I loved all three of these games on last gen and I am definitely going to pick up this remaster to replay them all along with the DLC that I did not get around to. My favorite was Bioshock Infinite! Crazy, I know, but I absolutely loved the atmosphere, colors, and gameplay over the other two games.
If I have time tomorrow I am either going to knock out Episode 3 of Life is Strange, which is getting really good, or I am going to grind for my last Far Cry Primal trophy before the Plat.
Far Cry Primal! I love this game. I've already put 11 hours into it, and I have SO much left to do. I'm really happy with this Far Cry. I think it is not quite as good as 3, but better than 4.
I am very excited for all of the DLC. Especially Far Harbor. That reminds me of the Fallout 3 DLC Point Lookout which is still the most fun I have ever had playing a DLC. The atmosphere was so creepy and eerie. I loved it!
Just platted Fallout 4, so as I eagerly await the DLC, like many of you, I will be playing Uncharted 2 on PS4. I am going to get as far as I can in it today. I've played the series on PS3 before, but wanted to replay them because they are such good games and the Uncharted 4 hype is real. I might get some Lego Batman 3 in as well.
Probably some LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Haven't played a LEGO game in awhile even though I have LEGO Marvel in my backlog. I picked this and LEGO The Hobbit up for cheap on the NA PS Store last week. Really enjoying it so far. I want to mix it up between this and grinding for the Fallout 4 plat.
The Last of Us: Remastered multiplayer. Picked up a digital download code cheap on Amazon ($13.99). I never got into the multiplayer on the PS3 version, but now I can't get enough. Add me if you want to play together.
Definitely going to purchase this, but not at full price. I will wait awhile after its' release to pick it up. Too many good games in a short period of time.
The first game that I REALLY got into was COD4, but Fallout 3, Dragon Age, and Skyrim are probably my top three favorite games that I think about regularly.
I am still grinding away at Assassin's Creed 4, which I am enjoying it more the longer I play it, however, I think it is a little too long though and there are too many filler missions and TAIL quests. I am looking forward to getting into Unity and Far Cry 4 more after I beat Black Flag, but until then I will keep them shelved. I don't like to play more than two games at a time.
I love all of Tell Tales games, but I'm not a huge fan of the episodic format mainly because I like finding out what happens immediately. That's me being selfish though, and not wanting to wait to play Tell Tales games until all the episodes are released on disc.
Like most of you I'm taking my sweet time with Dragon Age, and I am not rushing through it. I probably won't be officially done with that game until the end of summer at the rate I am going in. That being said, I have been taking a break from that game during the holiday break and focusing on others. I have my sails set on beating Black Flag so I can move on with Unity.
Some Call of Duty Ghosts multiplayer and the beautiful Child of Light on PS4, but on the roadtrip tomorrow I will be playing Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time on my Vita.
I haven't played either Watch Dogs or Transistor, but I will get to them eventually. However, I am really enjoying playing through Borderlands 2 again on my Vita.
I loved my PSP, and had most of the major games with it. But my best moment with the console was when I frantically and excitedly downloaded the God of War: Chains of Olympus demo and played through it about 15 times in a row.
