I'm so tired of seeing Keighley in every damn show constantly hyping it up for it just to be disappointing. I never thought The Game Awards was good and now we can't seem to escape with him wanting to take over the E3 period. I don't get the hype behind the guy. As usual I won't be watching this.
...Sony remembers Gravity Rush exists? That being said I hope this is an animated movie. As someone above suggested the Spider-Verse guys that would be a brilliant idea.
I was willing to let Premium off for a bit to let it get better but it has been an absolute joke so far While Extra delivers with a steady list of games so far Premium barely gets anything that makes it worthwhile and the fact there's nothing this month, let alone another screw up with the PS Store is just disappointing They need to not only sort out the PS Store but Premium cause it's feeling like a scam right now
@Number09 I don't expect the PS5 to sell as many as the PS4 due to the fact there's actual competition this time. The Wii U and Xbox One barely put up a fight, leaving the PS4 as the console to have during that generation. But now Nintendo has the Switch which is doing crazy well and Microsoft has Game Pass going for them as well as these acquisitions such as Bethesda which will be a deciding factor to go to Xbox or PC instead over PlayStation. So while I see the PS5 doing well enough, I'd be shock to see it sell more, if not close to PS4 numbers.
Beat the main story for Xenoblade 3 last night after 130 hours. Fantastic game. Now I just have to go back and complete a ton of side quests which feel never ending in this game. And between that I plan to start playing Astral Chain.
I love P5R and want to play it at 60fps with new visuals but paying the same price for it on PlayStation again is rough. I'm not expecting it for free but at least a lower price. But I suppose this release is meant for the other platforms that got the game and not us with the PS5 release just being thrown to not make us feel left out. Looking forward to playing P4 Golden on a home console next year.
It's a shame Japan Studio got shut down, while not every game was a hit they made so much wacky output that gave PlayStation tons of unique games. But thankfully we still got Team Asobi who have proven themselves with Astro Bot. Astro's Playroom alone makes me glad that I have a PS5 and looking forward to seeing what they cook up next. I really want to see a full on PS5 Astro title with multiple worlds full of collectibles and fun mechanics but as they are the go to studio for showing off PlayStation tech it's pretty much guarantee their next game will be a VR2 title.
@ShogunRok Did you have performance issues with the game while playing it? I've been debating whether to buy on Switch or PS4 and heard that both versions have had frame rate issues, Switch in particular.
@AdamNovice They announced this kind of indie loan program where indies can apply for a development and testing kit for the PS5. Hopefully it's a step forward to getting more indies on the platform (especially faster than other systems) compared to the PS3/Vita/PS4 days when the system was getting tons of them and before others. I remember people use to mock the PS4 as the IndieStation 4.
I've always liked Yoshida and it's nice to see him promoting indies. I always felt he was a good choice for the role, shame we don't see him much these days.
I'm a massive fan of the Persona 2 games and it's so sad Eternal Punishment (one of my favorites) never got a release in Europe. I'd be fine with them just porting the games to modern platforms but wouldn't mind them getting remakes.
I don't think this should be a free upgrade but at least offered at a lower cost considering we've already bought it before. To be honest though this release is more targeted at the other platforms who haven't got Persona 5 before. But it would have been nice to get something at least. I'd really like to play P5R on PS5 again improved but it's hard convincing myself to buy it full price on the system again as someone who bought the original Persona 5, the Phantom Thieves Edition of Royal day one and later got another physical copy to have the game's case. I'd like to get it but maybe I'll just wait for a sale and pick up the Switch version.
I think the remake is unnecessary as TLOU Remastered is very easy to grab and play on PS4, but the worst part is the £70 price tag. I was half expecting Sony to charge full price for Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection but there was a £10 upgrade fee with the standard collection being around £40. That is what I think the price should be. I'm sure work was put into this game but not a lot about it is convincing me it's worth the price tag Sony is asking for.
I really wanted to replay P5R on PS5 with 60fps but I'm not paying full price for it on PlayStation again. Guess I'll wait for a sale on that and just get the Switch version
Got it through PS Plus Extra but I do have the physical copy pre-ordered from ShopTo. As someone who has 2 cats I am heavily enjoying this game, it is spot on with the interaction the cat has in game and is fun to run around exploring and jumping as well. Sony made a good decision having this on Plus Extra.
The game selection for Extra is pretty solid: Stray, FF7R Intergrade, Assassin's Creed and Saints Row aren't some bad offers at all. Premium though... I know Sony can't pump everything out at once but only two games and them not exactly being anything mind blowing at that. And the standard Plus games themselves weren't bad either with Crash 4. A better month I'd say after months of Plus being quite dreadful. If Extra keeps getting supplied with good content monthly and the Premium tier with classic games improves I think I'll be very happy with the service. My problem and many others I imagine too is the premium side isn't looking too appealing so we can only hope Sony gets to work on improving that
I know Sony makes questionable decisions but I don't think they are that dumb to jump onto the NFT train especially now it's declining, even Square Enix have realized that
Really hope Sony doesn't do their dumb censoring again. Maybe it will make the pass cause it's not anime girls in swimsuits. It's so weird having to worry about Sony censoring games where Nintendo doesn't even bother anymore. Crazy how times change
The PS4 and PS5 offerings are very good so far but the classic area is lacking. Playing PS1 games like Ape Escape and Wild Arms with all these settings is a blast but I want to see more PS1 classics make their way as well as PS2 games. Both consoles have such great libraries I'd love to be able to play them on my PS5. I just really hope Sony sticks to this because it seems like this service can go somewhere but I'm also worried they will give up on classic games real quick.
Been stuck in doors isolating with Covid for the whole week so in that time I've just been playing Xenoblade 2 finishing all the side quest, affinity charts and extra bosses which I've made slow progress with and will carry on over the weekend working on. I've also been playing a bit of Xenogears on the side hoping to get that done before Xenoblade 3 releases. That being said I hope I get some time to fit Wild Arms in. I tried it out after the new Plus subscription launched and enjoyed what I played of it. There's a lot I want to get done before Xenoblade 3 releases which probably won't all be done.
I think for the start of the service's launch it's not too big of an offering. I'm just more concerned about the momentum of the service going forward: will Sony keep up with adding interesting titles or will they quickly give up on it? I know it's early days but I'm worried about the lack of PS1 and PS2 games so far. I really want to see more of them, playing Wild Arms on the PS5 is so nice. I just hope Sony and third parties bring some goods from both PS1 and PS2 to the service to play on PS5 but I fear they will give up quick like they did with PS2 Classics on PS4.
@tselliot I think Goro was complaining not because it isn't coming to PS4 but because it will only be on PS5 on release and not any other systems like PC. But it'll be nice to see PS5 only games soon what's holding me back from enjoying PS5 right now is it feels like a PS4 Pro most the time with barely anything that is actual next gen
@get2sammyb I don't think we've had one Jim Ryan moment that has been well handled, the man somehow always finds a way to anger people. I've seen people blame him for decisions made in other Sony branches before. I have no idea how much Spencer is involved in these kind of things but my point about him still stands where people say you can't criticize him no matter what. Kind of amusing just how much of a difference the feeling that PS and Xbox fans have towards Jim and Phil are it couldn't be any different
@mrtennis1990 It amazes me how much people online defend Phil Spencer no matter what he does, I've seen Twitter users say you can't criticize him at all because he saved the Xbox brand. He's done some great things for the brand but that doesn't mean he's free of criticism, that is open to everyone
@AdamNovice Game Pass has made people think Microsoft are the golden boys and can't do any wrong when they are just like any other corporation. It's given them an image that makes them look generous handing out all these big titles for "free" on day 1 as they throw their cash around on studios and third party games for Game Pass to get people interested in the service
No PS4 or Switch... weird. But at least it's coming to PS5 which means I can finally play Golden on a console and not have to use the Vita TV anymore for that phew Playing these again will keep me busy on PS5 for a while
Hope Xbox fans make sure to play P4 Golden and P5 Royal, some of the most enjoyable experiences I've had in gaming when these hit Game Pass and that Switch and PS users get the ones they don't have soon as well.
It's gonna be a classic Atlus moment if they put Persona on Xbox and none of the games on PlayStation, Switch or PC. And if they do something like spinoffs that would also be a classic Atlus moment. I'd like for Persona 2 to be on modern consoles but would like to see 3-5 playable on other systems
I think it's unnecessary but that isn't going to stop it from selling loads, Skyrim and GTA V are perfect examples of people still buying the same game multiple times when it's not needed.
@TheArt Don't know if they ever went to Microsoft but either they didn't or Microsoft rejected it, they did turn down the offer for Spider-Man in 2014. Microsoft actually use to have all the content deals with COD during the 360 and then it went over to Sony with the PS4. Sony do a lot of weird deals with exclusive content but Microsoft has also done it in the past so both sides are just as guilty of it, just Sony has been doing it a lot more recently. I don't see Microsoft dropping those games on PlayStation ever unless Sony allows Game Pass onto PlayStation which Sony and Nintendo have both rejected.
@TheArt SF5 was exclusive because Capcom asked Sony to fund it as they wasn't doing too well at the time. Today Capcom is thriving with their games so they don't need it to be exclusive And I'm glad about that, the money could be used for something else instead

We really need a State of Play for announcements SOON because almost everything first announced with the PS5 in 2020 is out at this point aside from Stray, God of War Ragnarok, FF16 and Forspoken and we have no idea what the future is like. They've got all their studios working on multiple projects let's see what some of them are getting up to because I want to know what to look forward after these games I just want next gen exclusives.
As an Atlus fan I expect nothing from this but people on Twitter think every single announcement is going to be a port of a Persona game and then get disappointed when it isn't
Games like this, Demon's Souls, Dreams and Gran Turismo 7 feel like a perfect fit for PC in my opinion. I can't see Returnal selling much more at this point and Sony were happy with the game calling it a mega hit so I guess they're ready to put it on PC and get some more sales.
I believe 2023 will be the last year of PS4 after Sony and third parties have released their current cross gen games Some developers are slowly adjusting to next gen only with releases like Dead Space Remake and Gotham Knights
@PlayNation5 Microsoft basically dominates FPS at this point owning Halo, Doom and soon Call of Duty so Sony will have to make one themselves whether it's a new IP or older one. I hope there's a good variety of old and new IP. While I like Sony is more willing to try newer IPs sometimes it stinks to see some series be left doing nothing when they have plenty of life left in them. Not just there but genre variety, I feel like we've had too many open world games on PS4 from Sony and the PS5 has been providing good variety so far which I hope continues.
