Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 427

Sam_ATLUS

I've been struggling to stick to something on PS5 lately, I've played several PS4 games like Ys VIII, Ni no Kuni and Odin Sphere but not stuck with it and I got a week off so I want to be able to get into something while I have that time free. Maybe try make some progress in Returnal or pick up the Lost Judgment Season Pass on sale.

Re: PlayStation London Studio Seems to Be Making a Fantasy-Based Live Service Game

Sam_ATLUS

Came to read the comments because I knew it would be full of people complaining about it being a live service game
Not exactly a fan of them but as long as I get my single player experiences which has always been done in my time with PlayStation I'm fine with them experimenting in other areas
Not every single game a company releases has to appeal to you, if Sony is making like 12 Fortnites and none of their other titles then that's where I start complaining but it's very clear we're getting those

Re: PS Plus Premium's PS1 Games Can Have Trophies After All

Sam_ATLUS

Another feature that you ask yourself "why didn't Sony mention this with the reveal?"
I wasn't really all too bothered about this service when it was being rumored but it's looking to be like a really good service that Sony is actually putting effort into. I expected them to do a half baked job with it. But man they need to do something about their communication it is terrible

Re: PS5 Outsold by Xbox in Japan for First Time, But All Stock Related

Sam_ATLUS

@UltimateOtaku91 Sony has been weird with Japan and a Japanese developer would definitely help them but I just don't see them purchasing one. That and I don't know how they would be with a Japanese developer considering they shut Japan Studio. I know we got Team Asobi in the end but that puts a lot of people and myself worried how they'd handle it. I don't think a Sony handheld would be the same unless it has quirky Japanese games, something Japan Studio did a lot of for them from LocoRoco to making their own Monster Hunter to make up for the lack of one. The best they can do is make sure they maintain good relations with Japanese third parties and get games the Switch can't handle to make it look appealing to Japanese gamers. I feel Sony will just do alright in Japan for now, they seem to be the second choice for them when they can't play a game like Elden Ring. But the day Xbox actually sells more consoles as a whole in Japan than PlayStation is the day I will be speechless.

Re: PS5 Outsold by Xbox in Japan for First Time, But All Stock Related

Sam_ATLUS

Xbox outsold PlayStation once in Japan Sony is doomed!!!!!!!!
It's a shame to see PlayStation stray from Japan as while I play their first party games so many amazing Japanese games I've experienced on PlayStation and identity them with the system. PlayStation sales have been declining over there since the PS2 and PSP and once they moved to America it's been less of an area focus there. Sure they prefer handhelds but they could at least put effort into caring about Japan it is Sony's home land and they have an advantage there Microsoft does not

Re: The Last of Us PS5 Remake Allegedly a Major Holiday Release

Sam_ATLUS

Do people really think that Naughty Dog is investing all their resources in a remake for this and not working on a new IP lol
This is very likely a side project for some members of staff while Naughty Dog is in the work preparing for their next game
I don't really care for a remake nor think it's a necessity but as long as it's good, makes some improvements and isn't in the £70 range which is a bit much for it I can tolerate it existing

Re: Reaction: Sony's Positive PS Plus Reboot Proves the Value of Catalogues

Sam_ATLUS

I'm surprised at how much offerings the PS4 and PS5 selection had, especially the fact Sony not only offered the Demon's Souls remake but the original game on PS3, giving people options to play both versions. I think it's a good start, we still need to see more games but I feel it will provide a good value for money we just need to see more of the classic titles because I felt that was the weakest of what we've seen so far

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Outsold PS4 in USA

Sam_ATLUS

The Switch has some great exclusives like Xenoblade, SMT V, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Super Mario Odyssey, Metroid Dread, Kirby, The Forgotten Land and Triangle Strategy but I'm not into it nearly as much as previous Nintendo consoles. Still good to see Nintendo doing well after the Wii U which was a disaster, just hope they don't screw up the Switch successor like they did when going from Wii to Wii U.

Re: Talking Point: Does Sony Need a Big Summer Showcase?

Sam_ATLUS

@Apfelschteiner September is later than I'd like but they would also work. They just need to give people a reason to convince them to wait and get a PS5 than give up on stock shortages and decide to get an Xbox because a fair number of people are doing that.

Re: Video: Is It Time To Leave Last-Gen Behind?

Sam_ATLUS

As someone who loves their PS5 and main issue is the lack of next gen exclusive I believe 2022 should be the last year of cross gen before we start fully committing to next gen but at the same time we're still having issues preventing people from getting next gen consoles so it's a tough situation as you will have people like me wanting next gen experiences they bought the console for, and people that still can't get a PS5 who want to be able to play them on PS4 for now. It's a shame because the PS5 exclusives I've played are excellent which is why I want more of them sooner than later but the chip shortage is messing with a lot of plans.

Re: Talking Point: Does Sony Need a Big Summer Showcase?

Sam_ATLUS

I think we are due one this summer. Outside of God of War Ragnarok we know barely any of their plans. Not only do we need to see more of that game but Final Fantasy 16 news too. As well as some new announcements from Sony, what are their other teams working on? Heck it would be nice to see Spider-Man 2 gameplay. I do believe Sony needs a showcase that not only shows what they've got prepared for PS5 but to get us excited.

Re: Sony Is Predicting Improved PS5 Stock Availability

Sam_ATLUS

Hopefully Sony is able to get more of these out to people. The demand is there for the PS5, I know many people who are still struggling to get one or I've helped secure one after months of trying. If they can get more consoles out and start advertising more of their line up that'd be great. I'm really digging the PS5 so far but it's just lacking those next gen exclusives which is a shame because Astro's Playroom, Returnal and Ratchet and Clank are really good. I want 2023 to show promise for more next gen releases and where the console starts picking up with games like PS4 did.

Re: 'Multiple Sources' Said Sony Is Buying Square Enix, Allegedly

Sam_ATLUS

I don't know if I'd trust Sony buying Square Enix, they seem to do some smaller releases now and then but nowhere near as consistent as the past and while SE has made some questionable decisions recently I think a lot of it is just them not knowing what to do and if they stick to their Japanese games they're be just fine and back away from NFTs
Like with Sony owning them would we get games such as Octopath, Bravely Default, Triangle Strategy and so on?
Tbh Sony gets most of their games and timed deals with them anyway and they sell well on their system so I don't know if it's worth the money for them to buy SE
If their gaming division was still in Japan I'd probably not be too worried but since moving to America I don't understand how they function and find their handling of Japanese games weird considering most PS fans seem to like them and that's what I think about when PlayStation comes to mind
I think I'd rather see Square Enix just stick to multi platform and Sony and Nintendo can keep getting good games for their platforms

Re: Feature: What's Next for PS5, PS4?

Sam_ATLUS

I love the PS5 hardware but the lack of next gen only experiences is making things somewhat disappointing right now for me so I just want Sony to outline what games they've got in development and when they are coming. Soul Hackers 2, God of War Ragnarok and FF16 is all I've got this year and FF16 is the only next gen one which I'm not even 100% convinced will be out this year. I want to see some exciting IPs get sequels alongside newer titles from PlayStation Studios, hopefully some more smaller scale titles inbetween releases. Oh and their communication to improve it's ridiculous how bad they are at it this generation

Re: PS Plus May 2022 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

Sam_ATLUS

Here before the comment section loses it. Meh is how I'd sum up most Plus months right now. Hoping from June with the new Plus subscriber it gets better because we all just dread it now lol
And Sony need to find their leaker this is like the 8th time
It'd be funny if Sony just leaked June's line up a week early just to mess with them

Re: Rumour: PS Plus PS5, PS4 Games for April 2022 Leaked Early

Sam_ATLUS

I thought people would be more pleased with this line up... I couldn't have been more wrong. It's alright to me. I was planning to get Slay the Spire on Switch so this works out and Spongebob isn't a bad offering. Idk what the first game is but this seems way better than some of the previous months to me and people make it sound like the worst.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 419

Sam_ATLUS

@SolarSailor I played through Ghost of Tsushima in 2020 on PS4 and got the Platinum. Funny enough it's what I ended up playing again this weekend. I bought the Director's Cut and have been playing through again and plan to beat the main game before tackling the new DLC. It's one of my favorite games from Sony in recent years.

Re: Talking Point: What PS Plus Games for PS5, PS4 in April 2022 Do You Want?

Sam_ATLUS

I think MLB The Show 22 would be a good Plus option for April. The game coming to Game Pass last year was very awkward for Sony and will be again so I feel like it being offered on Plus for the first month would help the situation and get some people to try it. Outside of that, I wouldn't mind smaller titles like some indies, those are the kind of games I'd love to see more on Plus. And 13 Sentinels has been mentioned in this thread, although I have it I wouldn't argue against that being on the service, more people should play it.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Currency Rewards to Be Increased Following Player Backlash

Sam_ATLUS

A lot of this shouldn't have happened but at least they are fixing things now. If you make enough noise Sony will reverse their decisions, the PS Store closure and Horizon Forbidden West's upgrade is proof of that. Now we just need them to scrap the game always requiring online, or at least have some of the game be accessible when the servers are offline.
