@UncleByron absolutely, it's still profitable for Sony and it's a win win for everyone. PC players get their games, albeit after a little wait and it helps ensure Sony can afford to keep making these games in the first place for their console owners
Good luck with that 😂. PC players don't even buy Epic game store exclusives and will just wait for a Steam release, no chance they buy a PS5 instead of waiting for it to come to PC
I'm someone who's always been a console gamer but this recent strategy from Sony has taught me that I don't need their console anymore
@MeatyVeg I agree, there have been many issues relating to Unreal engine games recently, some of which persist in Unreal 5 such as traversal stutter. I even saw some getting giddy over Hellblade and celebrating CD Projekt Red moving to it, all whilst Cyberpunk still has by far the best RT implementation I've seen
It's an amazing achievement, no matter how you look at it.
I did end up buying this for a couple of platforms myself and I enjoyed it, my personal favourite in the series is still Vice City, so hopefully GTA6 will recapture some of that magic
I've been playing this series since the start when they were DMA Design and the 3D roots of the series are actually on the N64 with the rather good Body Harvest. Funny to think that if Nintendo had liked Body Harvest then GTA likely wouldn't even exist
I've been playing some Sea of Thieves with my little boy (my PC is at the back of the living room) and he's really enjoying it. Other than that it's been some of the Majora's Mask PC Port and having some fun in Fallout New Vegas
@ChrisDeku OK a few more and that's including a lot of games released very recently and a PS3 remake, plus Sea of Thieves which was on last gen consoles (albeit Xbox), but still not many considering we're 3 and a half years in. This is certainly the year where this gen seemingly starts properly but it's certainly been disappointing for the first 3 years
Outside of the performance improvements there's basically been no reason to upgrade as pretty much every game has been cross gen anyway. How many genuine exclusives (not on last gen or PS3) does the PS5 really have? 10 maybe.
This isn't just a Playstation problem either, when I think of the games I've enjoyed across platforms that aren't available on last gen hardware, it amounts to Astro Bot, Ratchet & Clank, Starfield and Robocop. Even Nintendo have had to prop up Switch with remakes and Wii U ports
About time, their existing PS2 emulator is dreadful. Personally I don't even care about save states and rewind, just having the games play as good as they did on the PS2 would be a step forward for them
Make a fun game and sell it at a reasonable price amd it can be a huge success. It's almost like games don't have to cost crazy amounts to make and be sold at £70
It's great for me as I game mainly on PC these days, the main reason I still have a console is because its a 4K blu ray player, that and my boy plays on it
I don't think subscriptions in general are growing whether it be gaming, Disney plus, Netflix or whoever. Most only have PS plus because Sony lock online gaming and cloud saves behind it
We all have a finite amount of time and I've got rid of all my subscriptions. I struggle to find time to play the games I buy, let alone the 100's that are on subscriptions. Whilst for movies, I find those I want to watch are spread across multiple subs so I've long since gone back to buying them on Blu ray. I'll never use another gaming/TV/music subscription
@get2sammyb whilst they got it wrong by selling it in regions that couldn't officially create a PSN account, everyone knew up front that a PSN account was required. It's on every single piece of advertising media and lit up like a Christmas tree on the Steam store page. How many online games require an account, whether it be Epic, EA, Xbox, Rockstar, Ubisoft and nobody makes a fuss?
The game has stated since before launch that it requires a PSN account to play, if you buy it knowing you can't make an account for where you live, then sorry but I've got no sympathy for you.
Steam, PSN, Xbox all have plenty of games that require an account of some sort, why is it only such a huge issue for Helldivers?
@ChrisDeku for games like RDR2 and in general those that are years old, they tend to sell far better digitally due to the sales, whilst things like digital codes aren't a big deal, especially as they don't even exist for Playstation anymore.
When looking at games in their launch windows specifically, they're regularly closely matched, even Sony's own information puts digital at 66% overall including games which are digital only, so it's not just a UK thing
@breakneck physical isn't even close to being irrelevant. Last year in the UK, FIFA or whatever it's called these days still sold a third of their games physically, Hogwarts was 44%, then Spider-Man 2 was 54% physical and God of War Ragnarok sold 76% physically.
Despite the hugely misleading digital/physical splits that are regularly reported, new releases often sell at least as well physically in their launch window. Whilst on PC, Epic have a tiny percentage of the market share and releasing exclusively on it is guaranteed to severely impact your sales potential.
Overall it's a good game but no surprise it's struggled to sell given their own self imposed limitations
@sanderson72 there's far too many subs these days, currently Amazon is the only one I have amd that's largely because I order a fair bit from there, this show was just a very welcome bonus
@MikeOrator Force Awakens was great, shame what came afterwards. It's been fun revisiting these old saves and seeing what I built. This was long before many of the updates too, so those lights requires 1 unit of power each and there's 2 huge power stations off to the right to do so. There's a trip wire which lights up the traitor part and activates the flames, I must have had way more free time than I do today
@wildcat_kickz I spent god knows how long building a Batcave in Sanctuary, alongside a few other buildings including a bar complete with pool table and all the balls and a dog picture on the wall 😂
I've only watched 5 episodes so far as my (non gamer) Mrs wants to watch it with me and overall it's the most entertaining series I've watched for some time. They've done a great job of both bringing the games to life but also welcoming those who'd know nothing about it
Fallout 4 was my most played single player game on the PS4 and by quite some distance, most of that was down to settlement building which if you get into, can be really addictive and surprisingly in depth. Whilst overall I agree that the writing is the weakest of the series, there is still fun to be had role playing as the Silver Shroud and some interesting side quests like Covenant and the Far Harbour dlc is much better in this regard too.
Overall I've really enjoyed revisiting it but I doubt I'll go for the platinum again, though I am really looking forward to the huge Fallout London mod as I really enjoy the core gameplay loop, I even put 100 hours into Starfield which I thoroughly enjoyed
Probably my favourite Xbox game of the last decade and a live service which doesn't pressure you into playing all the time and it's just great fun whilst also looking amazing
I'm really enjoying returning to the game, the new additions whilst relatively minor are nice to have and it's good to be able to walk around my settlement at more than about 10fps, though nowhere near 60 either (it's a bit over the build limit 😂)
I had a brief go this morning exploring my unfinished Batman themed settlement from years ago, my character is level 82 with pretty much everything done so I may start a new file and trophies don't auto pop either
I've played ot on PC at max settings and it's not noticably different to what it was on PS4. I've just given the PS5 version a go and it's nice to have it much smoother, especially as my settlement is well over the build limit
@Anke me, it's said purchased for me before this update but luckily I have the disc anyway and I can't be 100% sure if I ever bought it or if it just decided I own it between me having the season pass and the ps collection base game
PS5 UI is easily my least favourite of the Playstation consoles, I'd love to be able to just go to the home screen by pressing the PS button but even that's beyond them, let alone the loss of folders and themes that we had before
@theSpectre I'm just confused as to how it worked for so long and only now it seems to be broken and only on Playstation. I wonder if Sony's back end has contributed, as it treats even the disc version as a different game to the digital and save files aren't compatible across them and perhaps patches and dlc have been swapped around
@REALAIS somehow it's been broken recently on Playstation 5 and installing one of the dlc's makes it crash on startup and plenty of textures linked to Nuka World are now purple
@Splat yeah this is the big one for me, my save files are very far into the game with lots of settlement building, so if they don't carry over I won't be playing the PS5 version and will just have to hope they fix the PS4 version.
I was amongst those numbers as I've been bouncing between Fallout 4 and New Vegas on PC but I'm looking forward to (hopefully) resurrecting my save on the upcoming PS5 version of Fallout 4, where I was building some overly elaborate settlements
If I ever got to a point where I would prefer a game simply plays itself, then I'm just turning it off and playing something else anyway. How about developers simply design their games better in the first place so they aren't boring?
I've enjoyed returning to them, though this time on PC where they're all available. I actually got that mini nuke collection despite owning a few already and I've just offed Benny in New Vegas and am scavenging around Boston in Fallout 4 to spend way too much time settlement building again.
Fingers crossed the next gen patch of Fallout 4 fixes it's ludicrous save file issue, so I can actually play my save file on the PS5 version

Ubisoft are a joke these days, from nonsense like this and that utterly pointless trailer for the game.
