Re: In the UK, You Can't Buy a PS5 Pro Disc Drive without Paying a Premium

hoffa007

Bought a disc drive when the Pro was announced just incase I decided to preorder cos I knew if I didn't I would just sell back at retail price.

Also had the idea I would just use the disc drive from my slim and just replace the cover with a digital one so two options.

The Disc drive will always be available just depends how much you need it right now.

Re: Xbox Fans Really Want a Port of PS5, PC Hit Helldivers 2

hoffa007

Sony didn't ask for Microsoft to put games on the Playstation so that doesn't mean Sony should put any of their games on Xbox.

Maybe Phil should have just made better decisions than buying up big companies and rather focus on making new ips or buying just a studio to make games, paying for it isn't on Sony to port any games over.

Also we don't need Gamepass on Playstation, don't want to be derided with that idea. Plus is fine as it is. Also what would that mean if Gamepass was on Playstation, Sony won't have a say in games etc and would have to pay something for the games being on the service on Playstation no doubt, we'll I imagine that's what will happen.

Re: Like It or Not, This Is Why PS5 Pro Doesn't Have a Disc Drive

hoffa007

Definitely not the reason why they don't include a disc drive to drive £699 to £779 or more.

I think the whole showing digital sales is a different topic of showing where the future is going not the reason why they didn't include a disc drive.

Edit: also want to add that you notice you'll get digital deluxe versions exclusive too the store and not retail where as you cannot purchase on disc which I have and many other probably may have purchased these versions of games which boosts digital sales.

I have also used the sales alot on the store and I felt i could have a game there and then. When you can buy vouchers cheaper online like on ShopTo where you'll save money and then further more strengthens the whole buying digitally.

My PS4 library where I bought many physical discs but then slowed down with PS5 just because of how easy to get hold of the games and ways of purchasing them and now Stars added in to get currency also adds to fuel of buying more digitally.

Re: PS5 Pro, 30th Anniversary Consoles Now Available at More Retailers

hoffa007

Depending on your tier on ShopTo you can get the PS5Pro for £685.85.

Ordered the Pro from Currys and will trade my slim or sell privately already have the discdrive ready. Snagged the Anniversary Slim before hand at Argos this morning incase, got time to cancel if I change my mind. I want the charging cable and box more than anything else from the Anniversary Slim.

Re: Days Gone PS5 Remaster Rumours Start to Snowball

hoffa007

I loved the game but at the start I played it for a short period as i couldn't get into it but one day thought I'm going to try and play it more and then found out I loved it the more I played it.

Just found it was a little slow to start with.

Watched a video yesterday about someone who cuts out doing the story and rides the bike through the map around the terrain and manages to get to the end of the game without really interacting with much or the story.

Re: Dev Behind PS5, PC Flop Concord Could Close as Director Steps Down

hoffa007

Honestly from our side of things I always wish they could make some new single player player ips or use existing ones, heck even remaster older ones as there is new generations of players now.

I'm not here to defend Sony but I understand that they wanna push for live service games but I hope that they see that Concord can be a lesson as well as Astros release where they should be pursuing and not all of these live service games now.

Ok to release a couple but when it's been mentioned they have multiple releases they won't find themselves in good stead.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2024 Announced

hoffa007

@Titntin funny thing is I was gonna write a comment about Among US costing that much.

With Borderlabds being that price did EA screw over Sony to put NHL onto Essential so they put two other low price games on there?

Or is Sony really hard up on the games money front so they cannot afford to put better games on there.

Re: Sony Is Allegedly Pulling PSVR2 Funding, Report Claims

hoffa007

It's a shame really, R&D could have put the resources to further develope the Portal to make it more native as well as streaming.

If people were willing to spend on the VR people would have bought a new native handheld.

I know they had good intentions but when they don't sell seperate accessories or anything to help fix the headset for people who need it they have themselves at fault for it I suppose.

I have a VR2 but I hardly use it just for different reasons but it doesn't give me reason to sell I just don't find myself wanting to get it out to play it, especially on hot days etc and just among other things.

Re: Don't Worry, You Can Still Upgrade the PS5 Slim's SSD

hoffa007

@thefourfoldroot1 tbf no one said you would need an additional drive and some people only play one game.

For gamers like myself I like to install a fair few games because I like to play a few hours on one then a few on another etc. I buy a lot of games so I just enjoy playing all sorts it's just the way it is isn't it.

Re: Talking Point: Is 2024 Too Soon for PS5 Pro?

hoffa007

I feel we don't need a pro, maybe just wait for PS6 earliest 2028 or something and then go full throttle going for 60fps/4k every single game that becomes available and nothing less than that spec.

Other than that is there any real need for a new console if it won't be much different to a ps5 in terms of what it does now?
