@Cornpop76 That's my thoughts exactly. I haven't played an assassin's creed since Odyssey but I recall in that game taking on the mercs that came after you and demolishing strongholds with relative ease even when under levelled. This not so much, granted I'm not far in as I'm addicted to Space Marine 2 but even at level 5 a lvl 6 samurai can whup my arse if I'm sloppy.
Difficulty is a strange thing with gamers. Some people can find fun only in the hardest of games, some only in the absolute easiest. I'm in the middle because it's all about the gameplay loop and how much I resonate with it.
While this is ridiculous Nintendo aren't shy of the odd remaster/remake. In fact the Switch is littered with them and no doubt the switch 2 will have it's fair share of them. Luigi's Mansion 3 in 4k New but not New Super Mario Bros Wii Switch Edition etc 😂
I've found Shadow's combat harder than previous Assassin's Creed games and while it's very much like Ghost of Sushi 🍣 (good thing) because of the level system its 2 hit deaths in some instances. The perfect dodge window is pretty tight and parry seems much tighter than Ghost and even Sekiro lol.
OBS once I level up and get better gear the challenge will be mitigated somewhat but I wouldn't say it's easy if you try and confront enemies even slightly above your level.
Sushi had very cinematic combat but it was easy peasy, very very fun (hence my shameful amount of hours in the legends mode) but very easy.
Hi Fi Rush barely sold on Xbox either due to being in game pass and as much as I like the game the rhythm part of it's combat kinda sucks some of the fun out for me.
As for the rest it all depends on how much effort it takes to port. If it doesn't cost a lot and takes minimal manpower it's never a waste to stick them on another platform, it's extra cash at the end of the day and its more money made than the initial outlay, well quids in. Don't see the point of these articles or the "analysts" either.
The character swap mechanic is in double dragon, the little chibi rogue like beat em up that is actually really fun. I haven't watched the trailer yet but it does remind me of Cap and the Avengers. Loved the voiced bits in the Mega drive version. Good times.
@Foxhound I'm gonna be pedantic here and state while the "trophy" is "exclusive" what they are and how you unlock them isn't. Started on the awesome 360 and Sony copied them.
While I myself quite like them and try for platinums or to get as many as possible on games I like I don't see the point of playing BECAUSE of them. Also I don't think it was you who said it but you don't get less of a game without trophy's lol. What kind of backwards logic is that?
@DennisReynolds Maybe not Wilds....more the engines fault and bad optimisation but it doesn't look very good outside of the curated story cut scenes. Awful textures, like seriously the worst textures I've seen since the PS2 in a AAA game (and the PS2 had an excuse being a..well PS2) I constantly have the textures disappear as well, the oil well basin is terrible for this but it happens on the monsters, nerscilla (sp) and the octo literally look like blobs. It's carried by it's art style because from a technical standpoint it's really bad.
@EfYI I'm gonna go with sarcasm or a joke on this because I have never seen someone attribute a real persons personality (one they have never met no less) to that of a character in a videogame because said character is a liar and deceitful so the real world individual must be to 🤣
What's does the world do when the Paintress gets to number 15 I wonder? Does the world reboot, has this happened before? I mean a world of 15 yr olds and below isn't gonna do to well lol.
I'll keep an eye on this as it's refreshing to get shorter titles, games are becoming way way to bloated and "long" for the sake of it these days, seemingly to appeal to this wide swathe of individuals who equate game length to cost to overall value. For instance I have near 200 hours in Streets of Rage 4 since it's release because it's so fun to play and good for quick sessions. I haven't played through the likes of Horizon, GoW reboots or GoT more than the first because they are so bogged down and long. Different strokes I guess.
Hasn't it been customary for decades that console to pc ports have been...well not great. It seemed to always work better when it made for PC and then ported to console. I still remember over 2 decades ago reading a letter in a magazine complaining about the shoddy Resident Evil 2 port and how they needed a disproportionately powerful pc (at the time) to play a PS1 game. How times don't change 😭
I've only played 5 hours and it's easier than world (my first foray) but even then Worlds first monsters weren't hard outside awesome pink fur dinosaur and his one shot flamethrower. That was my first game in this series as although I knew about it I never took an interest. Obviously some are going to find it easy naturally but most of the difficulty complaints come from veterans of the entire series or people who plowed 100's of hours into World and Rise. It's the same with the gamers who complain that each new from game is easier after telling us they are on new game plus 100 doing a naked run. Your just to good now lol.
@Loamy Still doesn't matter, your getting pretty angry over a spider toggle which ironically is as pathetic as you seem to view the people with the phobia. There's barely blood in Monster Hunter and it's cartoon like anime "violence" so why would there be a toggle for it? I also don't think it perpetuates anything, it's a game not exposure therapy.
I remember having Robocop Vs Terminator all those years ago as a kid and it was REALLY not kid friendly lol. I believe it predated the need for ages on the box but I'm not fully sure on that, either way to way the enemies died was awesomely gory. Hope this game isn't quite as rock hard though.
I've been reading some of those threads and difficulty is subjective. Yes, there should be a level of challenge for all skill levels. So if someone plays on easy, not to rush but because the other modes are to hard it will still provide a level of challenge for that individual. Not many people like to just walk through a game, well not the first playthrough anyway.
The issue with games like Monster Hunter is they have no sliders or difficulty, the challenge is presented based mostly upon your own skill, you negate it by upgrading gear etc. this means that seasoned and naturally adept players will find these games easier and easier the more they play them. I have no idea what capcom could do to balance it out. Old games were difficult, but not always for the right reasons. Inflating health pools and one shot attacks, invincibility frames on the monsters moves or periods where you can't damage etc don't sound a very fun way of doing it.
For the record I'm awful at Monster Hunter but when I finally got around to playing Bloodborne for instance a few years back no boss (except Paarl) up until German killed me more than 4 times and yet I was reading people spending hours on Rom and The Daughter of the Cosmos for example, all subjective.
Also people suggested making up your own ways to increase the challenge and were down voted lol. You see it's up to the dev to make it to your whims and wants while these people seemingly forgot that world sold 20mil. Capcom aren't catering to the few anymore so unfortunately difficulty does start to decrease, From Soft seem to be an outsider in this respect.
Another big company ruins studio article 1 million. Real shame when this happens due to incompetence at the top. I remember Activision shuttering Bizarre Creations and Disney closing Black Rock because some tosser in suits thought it wise to release the arcade racers Blur and Split Second in the SAME week (may have even been the same day) as Grand Theft Auto IV. Guess what..... they didn't sell very well. Would you believe it, 2 niche racing games didn't sell during the release week of the biggest game on earth. Both Studios, especially Bizarre made some good stuff and they have to bear the brunt of the dumbness every single time.
Making Yakuza a yearly franchise is a mistake. They are massive games and already recycle a mass amount of assets. Hell, I'm still waiting for one that looks like it was made from the ground up for PS4 tech because outside of cut scenes and main character models they could be PS3 games. Hawaii in the last one looked...ok but look out to sea and the little island has mario 64 trees on it 🤣 graphics aren't even something I'm fussed about but It would be nice if it looked the part and had some sky in the, well skybox.
@Kiefer-Sutherland I'm late to this but I played them all one after the other last year when they released. However, only having played the original (and just recently watching a longplay) it was the sole title I went through unguided. I'd not played a lot of 2 and none of 3 and the dlcs but has read that both of them, especially the third games had completely nonsensical and illogical level design and progression so I used the brilliant guides on Stella'sguides. I'd not normally do this and haven't got decades but I wanted to enjoy them rather than get pissed off every 10 minutes lol. I'd recommend those if you don't mind using one, they help to get the trophies to as I hate having a low percentage and there were A LOT of trophies I'd have no idea how to get.
Nope but only because Monster Hunter is out next week. I wouldn't finish this before that so I'll probably get it later in the year like I did with Infinite Wealth.
While that's a wholesome and awesome thing to do how on earth do you actually know the person is telling the truth and not just lying to get a free copy from the guy?
As for the game and reading through these comments, what's the point of a consumable used to save on the spot if the game makes semi frequent auto saves along with other means? Seems redundant and is there for the sake of it. I'm glad I read this though because that was a big bear that was putting me off, damn shame monster hunter is out in a week, Yakuza is out and I'm playing through some backlog. May pick this up later in the year if all is good.
Sony should do this, exclusives means very little to me personally and lets face it, how many have Sony actually made in the past 4.5 years that would actually sell a system? I couldn't care less of the next Ghost was on Xbox for instance, can be exclusive to Sony's console for a year or something and then off to PC and the Xbox later.
Still, like the guy/gal above says, we will all be on PC in less than 10 years if the market hasn't fell apart by then. I love consoles but there is seemingly few reasons to bother with them it seems.
@xDD90x It's the way the article was written. 4k and improved visuals etc in resolution mode, high frame rates in performance. It reads like it's 30 in Res and 60 in performance. Unless you get 4k 60 in resolution and upto 120 in performance. In which case I see no reason for the distinction as I'd play 60 locked with all the bells and whistles. That's the reason why I queried it, seemed a tad strange as I'm sure the original PS4 version running on the base PS5 is 60fps although I could be mistaken.
Either way I bought this in a sale years ago on PSN for about £8, played It for an hour and then never went back, this could be the excuse I need.
Look I'm not the frame rate guy but seriously, this can't run at 60 in 4k? Even scaled using pssr? What's left for Sony to "remaster" now then that nobody really cares about? Seems like the franchises people want get ignored and games nobody really gives a stuff about get the special treatment 🤣
Physical games aren't in a much better position if the servers ever shut down, not unless you have every single one on multiple drives (drives can die after all) with all patches downloaded. The Witcher 3 is near 10 years old and popping your non patched disc in would be great in the sense you can play.....not so good with all the rampant bugs, glitches and completely missing features. That's just one of hundreds of games that are like this.
It's cool you can buy an old games and pop it in your original playstation but as the years advance even that will be harder as more fail and the acquisition of an old crt will get more difficult. Hell my OLED doesn't even have legacy connections on it even if you wanted to use it. You could get it running through HDMI but my god old games look like ass on new TV's.
@Luna-Harmony I've never done it and I was playing my digital copy of resi 4 with no issue. Didn't bother to test anything else but I've never had an issue even when not connected due to my router.
@Shad361 True, also I doubt this cost a lot. Generations seems barely touched apart from a higher res and 60fps. However I've never been much of a fan of any of the characters introduced since the adventure games but this one made me have a fondness for Shadow, not to mention his game makes the base one look and feel like ass. My rose tinted glasses were really bad regarding generations after recently playing through this. My god it's a janky mess.
Never been a fan of adventure, especially the second. The knuckles and rouge levels are god awful and the whole thing just didn't "feel" like Sonic, even the boost games give me of the typical sonic vibes. Also it introduced the mega levels of cringe we still see today 🤣
@Majin_Deicide Similar and yet very different. You can go in for the chainsaw bayonet kill but there isn't any proper melee combat like in Space Marine. However the shooting is much better and it pretty much defined the cover shooter. I played them all on release and enjoyed the first 3, especially in coop. Whether they still hold up though, that would be personal preference as you don't get any snap to cover shooters and on the harder difficulties with CPU's.....it can get quite frustrating.
I was pretty chuffed about finishing the first game alone on insane though 🤣
@Drago201 Really? I bought it on sale a month or so after release and really enjoyed it but 100 mill!? Nah, there is no way on earth it cost that surely?
Cool that MS are releasing their stuff on Sony's platform but I won't be picking it up. Racing games are something I haven't bothered with for years now. I want my crazy super fast ridiculous arcade racers, even if they have licensed cars. Last one I loved was Blur on the 360. Since then Bizarre was shuttered, pure and split second were good, studio shuttered, Burnout has died apparently, no more wipeout and Need for Speed lost its way along time ago. We have no more cart racers and in general fast simple track/point to point arcade style games are no more.
Sorry, just an old man lamenting so many genres vanishing 😭
This has only been in development for ages so Rockstar can milk the cows that keep buying shark cards for the online in 5. You don't wanna release a new iteration in the GTA series while you can get that sweet moolah.
Personally I find this series incredibly dull and can't fathom why it's as popular as it is. I used to enjoy it when it was full of nonsense like having the rampage tokens and being more Arcade(ISH) in the first 3 but they just got really boring for me afterwards. Terrible janky aiming, characters control like tanks etc. you'd think they would sort that out with such a budget. One thing I'll give them though is their coding process and engine are top notch. Can't stand Read Dead 2 but that was mazing considering it was on a PS4.
Weird considering most games on ps5 up till now are cross gen. We're only just getting into the only on ps5 territory, well maybe for the past 8 months or so. Also I missed some of those PS4 games. Makes zero sense as it's literally just putting a game on a service, how many resources could they possibly use for this?
I like Generations (bought this in the PSN chrimbo sale) and had the collectors edition on the 360. Enjoyed unleashed etc but for me Sonic died by fireball when all of these lame characters and cringe dialogue started with Adventure. It's absolutely awful to me and the fan base is a bunch of nuts.
@nhSnork Nah they will keep going with the shiny shiny approach as it seems to win people over more than actually trying to do things that could change up gameplay. One thing I'd love is destructible environs with realistic physics. Obviously the visuals would have to be downgraded which means the masses wouldn't be on board. Everything is about visual fidelity now to the point things like digital foundry exist to nitpick everything, PC crowd love their sheen.
On another note, as much as I quite enjoyed both of these I absolutely HATE Chadley. Worse inclusion of all time, insufferable character and the fact he is always there makes it worse.
I want CV and not 0 although they could infinitely improve that game by merely popping item boxes back in. Dropping shizzle on the floor and constantly going back to get it was awful game design.
@Superstar74 It's similar to the PS1 soundtrack for Doom. PS1 was the first place I properly got to experience it, playing Final Doom on Christmas day and I really liked the ambient stuff. The first time I played a port of the PC game I was like WTF is the music. I love rock and metal but the old soundtrack doesn't do it for me, it just doesn't "fit" for some reason. Works in the Reboot and Eternal but I hate it in the originals.
Hopefully this is true, gives me an excuse to play it again. Loved it on the N64 (another Christmas 🎁 years ago) but it was a bit weird getting the controls to be fully useable on that weird pad.
@knowles2 So they do and I've played plenty of Gacha games over the years, in fact I still play a couple now because of the time investment, however these are on my phone which makes them accessible pretty much everywhere.
Also why would I care if they make billions? I'm not a shareholder or have a stake in the company so it means nothing to me. All that does is make said companies chase the carrot and potentially lose millions in the process which could impact other games/series and of course actual people's jobs.
Genshin and the like aren't necessarily live service. They are Gachas, functionally similar yet slightly different.
Won't touch this or and GaaS because they don't respect your time. Once your in you have to stay IN because you'll lose out by dropping it for a few months. I don't see the appeal of a game that drip feeds you content over years, puts all the best cosmetics behind a paywall and then when it stops making the dough shuts it off and you lose everything, because it's all kept server side.
I imagine sometimes going back in time 20 years and trying to explain the future idea of live service or gacha games to companies. They would think you insane......
@tameshiyaku Hahaha, in the current climate I could see that game having soooo many changes. Remember this (loose) quote from Ceaser to Varla Guns bro "next time you want to talk, turn the volume down on that thing, F*****G cabbage" 🤣🤣 for context he is a paraplegic.
I have the first one, was in a sale on PSN for about 4 quid but haven't played it yet. On the Sega Saturn HoTD was surprisingly playable on a controller with a simple inclusion of speeding up the reticle when holding down the C button
Genuinely worked, unlike Virtua Cop which was almost impossible to play without the Virtua Gun.
@KyleKittenmouse But barely, if any gameplay improvement. To quote Frankie Boyle it's another "look at the shiny shiny". It uses so much processing power when there is little need for it. Guess what I'd prefer? Actual destructible environments and physics applied to way more objects in the world. Most games it's like your gliding through an oil painting. Well never get this though because it seems like the majority (especially) from the PC players I see on the web prefer visuals.
As for 120fps.....60 is more than sufficient. Well it was until 120 started becoming more widespread and now 60 is turning into molasses apparently...
@rusty82 I can't believe people still do it, been going on for years. Maybe they are just trapped in time or think they (maybe actually are) 10 years old.
I like it although it would be better if they integrated it on to the console itself as the trophy cabinet being stuck there gives it even less of a reason to exist. However the games you can get with accumulated points is a whack system. It's cheaper to convert the points to cash and just buy the damn thing 90% of the time. I would have thought it be either convert to points to spend on what you like OR get a game in the list a a reduced price. Core Keeper was more to "buy" with points than it was to convert 2500 to a tenner and put 1.50 towards it in the sale. Full point cost is 20 quid but the game only costs 15.99 🤣
@mrbone True, I've always wanted to give this a go but they are such time sinks and once you're in you have to stay otherwise your gimped. Their games look nice but Honkai Impact was way to p2w and Genshin, while defended with "but you can just use the starters" has abysmal rates. The whole point of gachas is the pulling for characters, if you can't reliably do that you may as well spend time playing an actual game that doesn't gate stamina, modes, bosses or events.
I think it being a handheld PS4 would actually be pretty good. After all the Switch seems like it's at the level or just above the PS3 and X360. PS4 had some really good looking games on it and Ninty don't chase hardware anymore after the GameCube. However I tried playing Xenoblade in handheld earlier in the year and my god it was like I had stuffed vaseline in my eyes, so I hope they can translate whatever they do so when using it handheld you get similar results to docked.
Art is open to criticism like all mediums. BUT you must form a critique and say what it is about the piece you don't like in terms of the art itself. I looked at both of them and proportions are good, first is from a very difficult to draw angle and 3/4 face in the second is trickier than it looks. Basics are down, figure is still there along with size of the breasts so I'm leaning into "this doesn't look like a sex doll" for some of the crits. The face is small on the first due to the angle so it limits what you can do along with the artists own style (which is the bit I don't like personally) and as they have gone with a more realistic approach instead of the typical anime where everyone female looks like a teenager until they are deemed old.
This ugly thing is crazy to me. Attractiveness is like art, subjective but with so many wanting photo realistic games why not add the same realism to the characters? Of course this invites discourse when it comes to female ones because they have to stay the pinnacle otherwise they are "ugly"
Aloy isn't ugly, Jill from Resi 3 remake isn't ugly, this art isn't ugly. Geez, it seems unless you draw a women looking like Pamela Anderson from the 90's you may as well insert the elephant man.

I'd recommend those if you don't mind using one, they help to get the trophies to as I hate having a low percentage and there were A LOT of trophies I'd have no idea how to get.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii?
Nope but only because Monster Hunter is out next week. I wouldn't finish this before that so I'll probably get it later in the year like I did with Infinite Wealth.
Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Is So Good Gamers Are Now Gifting It to Each Other
While that's a wholesome and awesome thing to do how on earth do you actually know the person is telling the truth and not just lying to get a free copy from the guy?
As for the game and reading through these comments, what's the point of a consumable used to save on the spot if the game makes semi frequent auto saves along with other means? Seems redundant and is there for the sake of it. I'm glad I read this though because that was a big bear that was putting me off, damn shame monster hunter is out in a week, Yakuza is out and I'm playing through some backlog. May pick this up later in the year if all is good.
Re: Xbox to Put PS5 Logos in Future Showcases, Says Phil Spencer
Sony should do this, exclusives means very little to me personally and lets face it, how many have Sony actually made in the past 4.5 years that would actually sell a system? I couldn't care less of the next Ghost was on Xbox for instance, can be exclusive to Sony's console for a year or something and then off to PC and the Xbox later.
Still, like the guy/gal above says, we will all be on PC in less than 10 years if the market hasn't fell apart by then. I love consoles but there is seemingly few reasons to bother with them it seems.
Re: Reaction: The PS5 Discourse Around State of Plays Is Becoming Draining
@janineking You sir or madam are awesome because you have Dogs daughter from Blue Stinger as your avatar. Now that's a game I'd love to be remade!!!!
Re: Days Gone Remastered Is Real, Out for PS5 This April
Re: Days Gone Remastered Is Real, Out for PS5 This April
Look I'm not the frame rate guy but seriously, this can't run at 60 in 4k? Even scaled using pssr? What's left for Sony to "remaster" now then that nobody really cares about? Seems like the franchises people want get ignored and games nobody really gives a stuff about get the special treatment 🤣
Re: PSN Downtime Raises Fresh Questions About PS5's Future Functionality
Re: PSN Down Worldwide as PS5, PS4 Players Can't Log In or Play Online
@Luna-Harmony I've never done it and I was playing my digital copy of resi 4 with no issue. Didn't bother to test anything else but I've never had an issue even when not connected due to my router.
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Speeds Past 2 Million Copies Sold
Re: Sony Issues DMCA Takedown Against Bloodborne 60fps Mod, Four Years After Release
At a glance that dudes pic in the article looked like Andrew Tate had patched Bloodborne 🤣 the true Alpha Male haha.
Re: Rumour: Gears of War to Make PS5 Debut with Full Crossplay in Trilogy Collection
Re: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown's Reported 1.3 Million Sales Not Enough for Ubisoft
@Drago201 Really? I bought it on sale a month or so after release and really enjoyed it but 100 mill!? Nah, there is no way on earth it cost that surely?
Re: Poll: Are You Buying Forza Horizon 5 on PS5?
Re: PS5 Remake Ninja Gaiden 2 Black to Get Even Better Next Month
I bought this and I'm still total rubbish. Don't remember Hayabusa controlling like a tank though, hard just getting him through a doorway 🤣
Re: Former Rockstar Animator Doubtful GTA 6 Will Run at 60fps on PS5
Re: Sony to Mostly Drop PS4 Games from PS Plus Starting January 2026
Weird considering most games on ps5 up till now are cross gen. We're only just getting into the only on ps5 territory, well maybe for the past 8 months or so. Also I missed some of those PS4 games. Makes zero sense as it's literally just putting a game on a service, how many resources could they possibly use for this?
Re: Secret to Sonic X Shadow Generations Success? SEGA Says Transmedia
Re: You May Not Need to Upgrade to PS6 for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, Says Producer
Re: Monster Hunter Wilds Is Making Changes to Your Favourite Weapon
I hope hammer ends up with rises kit otherwise it's fun but bare bones. Then again...golf swinging a monsters jaw never gets old.
Re: Resident Evil 6 Appears Set for a PS5 Port
I want CV and not 0 although they could infinitely improve that game by merely popping item boxes back in. Dropping shizzle on the floor and constantly going back to get it was awful game design.
Re: Looks Like DOOM 64 Is Getting a Native PS5 Port
Re: Yakuza's Kiryu Actor Stars in Action Platformer Rusty Rabbit This April on PS5
I saw the trailer for this on the Marketplace ages ago and insta recognised Kiryu.
Re: Marvel Rivals' First-Month Revenue Shows Sony Should Continue to Pursue Live Service on PS5, PC
Re: Marvel Rivals' First-Month Revenue Shows Sony Should Continue to Pursue Live Service on PS5, PC
Re: The House of the Dead 2 Remake Lives! Launches This Spring 2025
Re: PS5 Pro Bettered as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Reveals PC Specs, Features
Re: Industry Journalist Says Xbox Game Pass Does Increase Premium Sales, But Mainly on PS5
@rusty82 I can't believe people still do it, been going on for years. Maybe they are just trapped in time or think they (maybe actually are) 10 years old.
Re: Poll: Do You Use PS Stars?
I like it although it would be better if they integrated it on to the console itself as the trophy cabinet being stuck there gives it even less of a reason to exist. However the games you can get with accumulated points is a whack system. It's cheaper to convert the points to cash and just buy the damn thing 90% of the time. I would have thought it be either convert to points to spend on what you like OR get a game in the list a a reduced price. Core Keeper was more to "buy" with points than it was to convert 2500 to a tenner and put 1.50 towards it in the sale. Full point cost is 20 quid but the game only costs 15.99 🤣
Re: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Won't Lock New Game+ Behind Paid DLC
While locking it behind a paywall is scummy I have never used it in any Yakuza, tbh in most games I just don't see the point to it.
Re: Honkai: Star Rail's Biggest Ever PS5 Update Will Start a Year-Long Storyline
Re: Nintendo Fans Are Desperate to Know How Close Switch 2 Will Get to PS4's Power
Re: Stellar Blade Dev Says It Hopes Everyone Is 'Living in Love' After Naughty Dog Artist's Interpretation of Eve Is Unfairly Criticised
Re: Game of the Year: #2 - Metaphor: ReFantazio
Never played it and never will. Persona 5 soured me on all games in the same/similar universe so no Metaphor, Shin Megami or Personas for me.
