@PhantomMenace84 It might have something to do with the “virtual stock” option you can toggle on and off in the settings. It virtually stabilises your gun but you have less direct control over it, could be the issue.
@NEStalgia The reviewer did put a lot of focus on TTT but honestly that’s a mode you can just skip; I don’t play it myself and just stick to TDM and Search and Destroy. Like others have mentioned you don’t need to talk yourself, just listen or even just see where your teammates go and follow them.
Don’t be discouraged it is a great game and I’m having a blast with it, the gunplay is the best I’ve seen in a VR game!
I'm okay with the length; it's still plenty of time to tell a large story, but one that is perhaps more focussed and less meandering. Hopefully we'll get some meaningful side-quests with their own stories, and not the forgettable rubbish we got in XV.
Grapple arm! Oh boy this doing to make character action fans very happy. I hope it has quieter moments of exploration though, and plenty of equipment/spell/ability customisation; I do like a good fiddle around in the menus in FF.
Don’t sleep on Outriders people! The story is utter drivel but the gameplay loop is satisfying and incredibly fun to play. It’s the best looter shooter out there.
@Phornix My comment was in jest, apologies. I'm not against anyone picking it up; if you want to play the game AND not fund a war, then pick up a used copy.
It's sitting at a 73 on Opencritic with 64% critics recommending it so it seems like a mixed bag. Definitely not the next Bioshock which is a shame. Still, we can breath a sigh of relief that we don't have to financially contribute to Russia this time, especially for a pretty average game.
@Constable_What Just came on here to see if anyone else had played through it as well, and I'm happy to see someone shares my frustration!
I went in expecting a flawed gem - one of those games that looks and sounds rough but plays like a dream - but the gameplay is insulting s**t. I was tearing my hair out on the last level - those corridors were ENDLESS. And what was up with the weird looping music? Honestly screw this game, what a waste of 50 quid.
EDIT: I applaud you for finishing it on Hard; after barely finishing it on Normal I'm tapping out
@trev666 Except politics are very much entwined with this game, you can't keep it out however much you want to. A game about an alternate USSR, made by Russian devs, isn't going to be completely apolitical. You can still play the game and not contribute to its sales by picking it up second hand. With everything going on in Ukraine right now, I would feel a bit icky picking this up at launch.
@Nintendo4Sonic I mean.... we said it looks like Returnal, because it kinda looks like Returnal. I'm sure it'll turn out to be a decent game but, the similarities in its gameplay, setting, and overall aesthetic are there.
It's actually a pretty decent month - gonna try Evil Dead at the weekend with some mates. I'd give Mafia a try as well but I believe it's stuck at 30fps on PS5.
Just finished up DS myself and it’s still brilliant; the remake hasn’t taken away any of its shine. I somewhat enjoyed my time with CP but its linear structure, lack of length (took me 6hrs to finish, DS 13hrs) and nabbing the Plat in one play through meant that it didn’t give any in incentive to return to it.
I’m probably not alone in saying that I REALLY, would like a DS 2 remake please
@KundaliniRising333 Yes, thank you; that's a good comparison! As much as I love the RE engine - and I really do - I feel like they've hit a brick wall with it, and it needs an overhaul. Like how they upgraded their MT Framework every now and then: it kinda needs a rework, especially for these current gen machines. It just still looks, kinda RE7-ish?
@Flaming_Kaiser No, I don't think it does. It doesn't really improve on much at all. If anything, I find the controls to be too erratic, too sensitive; I haven't found a happy medium yet. Where as DS was just.... just PERFECT, like, a proper improvement on everythin.
This is gorgeous, no doubt, but everything is too smooth, too shiny; the grit and grime has been removed. It's highly polished but I feel like part of its identity has been scrubbed out. Like I said I'm only a short way into it and overall it is still a solid experience... but that's because the template of the original is so, so strong.
I should also add - if you have access to VRR then fidelity mode is viable - it's quite smooth and feels like it hovers around 40fps; but really, the PS5 should be able to handle 120fps for this, it's Frostbite after all and not exactly pushing the console to its limits.
I’ve played about 30 mins and agree on the visuals. I mean it’s lovely, but I don’t think it’s something that requires only a PS5; the steep drop in fidelity on performance is disappointing. It’s no Callisto Protocol on the visual front (though that was decidedly mediocre as a game).
I'm excited to play a MH game that's easier to grasp (as a newbie I found even World to be a little heavy going at times). And at £32.99 it's a nice price point to boot!
You can almost tell right away it's a Frostbite engine game - the faces instantly remind me of that Anthem reveal I would say it doesn't look quite as nice as Callisto, then again that game was a wee bit disappointing after I finished it (in a measly 7hrs no less). I have more faith in this.
@Qu1n0n3z Agreed it's definitely a wait for review kinda game. I remember when Nercomunda: Hired Gun was coming out, it looked like a blast, then the reviews hit and it was more like an avoid
That is a bit of a blow; bear in mind if you have a smaller TV and/or you sit like, 15ft away then it might not be a problem. But I remember playing through GotG in performance mode and the 1080p felt like I needed glasses.
Still, with a fast-paced, action oriented game like this, 30fps is a no go. Perhaps wait for patch or just suck up the soft image quality.
It started brilliantly but did become a bit of a chore towards the end. I can't see adding 3 new mini-games (one of them a re-skin) for £3.50 as particularly good value for money.
I'm usually a bit weary of these "official" runtime lengths they put out. I finished RE3 in 6hrs and Village in 9hrs, well under what they stated (and I was taking my sweet time). But the original 4 was genuinely quite long, so here's hoping they stay true to that.
@Reeneman If your TV has VRR then that should smooth over the kinks. TBH I think the 60fps mode will be ideal for this type of game - a slightly slower paced, cinematic adventure; I'll want that dynamic 4K!
@naruball Oh I agree, completely skipping out on a title like that because it's not 60 is ludircous; TLoU 2 for example was absolutely fine at 30 (though that was a very smooth and stable 30).
I think the issue with Gotham is that, referring to the DF analysis, it hovers awkwardly between 26 and 30 with inconsistent stuttering, coupled with a very outdated look - especially compared to Arkham Knight - and mediocre gameplay makes for a sub-par release
@naruball I think on the Pro it had an uncapped frame-rate, it did manage to hit 60 quite frequently (which is insane). But GoW is a masterpiece so I guess we can forgive it this has mediocre written all over it.
This review sits on the more positive end of the spectrum. I've seen a lot of 4s and 5s (out of 10). Looks to me like it lacks the flair and imagination of Rocksteady's work; it feels like a WB mandated franchise entry and I am totally not here for it.
@DETfaninATL A better analogy for 30fps would be a pizza with stale dough and no cheese; yes frame rate is that important. It's not just how the game looks but how it feels to play.
If all our games were 30fps then it'd be easier to digest, but switching up from 30 to 60 and back again when you pop different games on just makes my eyes hurt.
@LiamCroft Dang, that's what I was afraid of hearing - I too have the same set-up and was hoping that 40fps with VRR would somewhat alleviate my concerns about its performance, alas, it's not to be. I think I'll hold on and see if they patch it in future.
@NeonPizza Hmm, it's a toughie; DS will be the "safer" choice there won't be any real surprises - though I think they're expanding some areas? - I played the original to death so it's going to feel very familiar to me, albeit very shiny.
CP on the other hand is a brand new original title, with more modern game design; I'm definitely more excited for that one, but we'll have to see which one comes out on top!
If it's anything like the last game it'll most likely need that polish time. WRC10 was very rough; its "120fps" mode was frankly, all over the place. And hopefully there's far fewer copy and paste tracks in this one.
Firewall was fantastic; for anyone who didn't play it it's ostensibly CS meets Rainbow Six. It was hampered somewhat by the technology so these enhancements are most welcome. Insta buy for sure!

Can we get IV on Premium please, with trophy support.
Re: Indie Not on PlayStation Beats PS5, PS4's Biggest Hits to BAFTA's Game of the Year
Vampire Survivors is an interesting choice; it is a FANTASTIC game (I have it on iPhone) but I would've preferred ER to take it personally.
But really if anyone hasn't tried VS and doesn't have an Xbox it is FREE on mobile phones!
EDIT: Also the soundtrack is... ughh.... it's unbelievably good.
Re: Bingo Time! Resident Evil 4 Sales Top 3 Million in Just Two Days
@SystemAddict It is a remake of a GameCube game; also, just goes to show how good the original's design was that it still holds up today.
Re: Resident Evil 4's Aggressive Weather Effects Will Be Dialled Back in Day One Patch
Thank GOD: Capcom heard my prayers. That rain was downright awful, I mean, it was BRIGHT WHITE, even in the dark.
