Funny how the Switch flipped the world upside down. 10 years ago Nintendo was being told they need to pull a Sega and just be a publisher and exit the console market.

@Alps_Stranger 100% this. Kaiji Tang deserves far more recognition for his performance as Ichiban. But I'm also so used to Kiryu's Japanese voice actor and I felt the need to switch to Japanese during his chapters.

Even if they get it running at a solid 60fps by launch, I think they did serious damage to the game releasing the beta in the performance it was in. Lot of people (me included) have written the game off for that.

Quite frustrating that when Unpacking was on PS+ it was on sale every month. Since it was taken off PS+ over the summer it hasn't been on sale since.

Praise Arusha and the Flames. I was worried this was gonna be stranded on the Switch.

Still addicted to Path of Exile 2. Also planning on jumping back into Trails through Daybreak as I dropped it over the summer.

@doctommaso yeah I platinumed it. Again fantastic game. I have it #5 on my GOTY list. Also to put in perspective any game in my top 5 would have been my GOTY in every year since 2020 (all due respect to BG3 and Elden Ring which just weren't my type of game)

While I'd much prefer Rebirth, Metaphor, or Balatro, I think Astrobot is gonna get it. While a great game, as someone who's played PS4 playroom, PSVR playroom, Astrobot rescue mission, and PS5 playroom I'm not as impressed with the game as most people. Most of the music, and several of the gameplay elements are just used from the other games.

I went FF7 Rebirth since I couldn't read that you can select 3. I tried out many and the others that impressed me was Ragnarok and No Mans Sky.

Hopefully numbers are accurate. Think I have 4 different games I played for over 100 hours. FF7Rebirth, Metaphor, Balatro, and Infinite Wealth. Honestly it might hit 5 by the end of the year with PoE2 and some vacation time coming up

Might be required for me as my right dual sense is going out and Sony doesn't sell replacements making it a $600 brick.

Curious of the pacing of this game. Uncharted works because there's a lot of gunplay in between cutscenes and set pieces. Indy doesnt slaughter thousands of bad guys like Nathan Drake or even Lara Croft. First person stealthing around with a horrid field of view just doesn't appeal to me much.

This game looks amazing. Possible to knock Diablo 2 off the perch as best ARPG. Only concern is I've never really gotten deep into a f2p game before. Wish I could just buy the game and be done. I know stashes are kind of nickel and dimed but hope it isn't some p2w nonsense.

Phenomenal game. Deserves every accolade and dollar it receives.

Honestly been surprised he's stayed at the company these last several years since essentially being demoted. Not only is he a rare exec who showcases passion for his industry, but he pretty much became a PlayStation mascot during the PS3 era. Also, alongside Adam Boyes, demolished Xbox in the last generation with a single 3 second video.

People still need that cheap DVD player.

Been waiting for this one. Their previous game Sayonara Wild Hearts was an instant classic for me. While a completely different type of game, everything I've heard about Lorelei is it's of the same quality.

They really picked some random performers this year for best performance. Kaiji Tang as Ichiban in Infinite Wealth deserved a nomination. Outside of Max Mittleman as Red XIII it was the only performance that truly seems outstanding.

As for GOTY my list is in order FF7 Rebirth, Metaphor Rephantazio, Balatro, Infinite Wealth, Astrobot. DLC absolutely should not be in the running for GOTY (especially for a game that has already won it like in Elden Ring)

I heard that Rockstar actually used Grove Street's AI technology on the credits which is why they came out so much worse than the original.

@IamJT they should just name it Trashfall. Push Square will be disappointed as that would have been a home run subtitle for their review of the game.

Atomfall, Godfall, Redfall, think that John Garvin NFT game is called something Fall as well. Honestly this one is probably going to be the best of the bunch.

How many times has GTA V entered the service and left after 3 months? Feels like this is like the fourth time.

What's funny is I predict that episode will be the most watched episode of the series. At the very least the episode that creates the most social media engagement. People love to hate watch on streaming services, and while Concord was a huge loss for Sony, it made a lot of money for content creators as people love to watch content making fun of Concord.

Wow sims dlc gets taken away. Curious if that straight up breaks people's saves who were playing with they DLC installed.

Been a while since I've rolled a barrelmancer so I'm kinda excited to go back. The class was severely nerfed in BG3.

I'm excited for this one. Love me a theme park simulator and this is best around at the moment. Glad to see the campaign is back. Surprisingly engaging the last one was.

@LifeGirl why? I didn't play Concord like most people. It has zero effect on all the games people CAN play which was the whole point of the article. I love me a good Concord dunk but this was a reach.

This has been the best year of gaming since 2020 in my opinion. Sorry to those who can't enjoy the amount of bangers we've received this year.

I have two nieces between 8-10 years old. This game is made for them.

I'm curious what the sales numbers would have been if they didn't have that Friend's Pass where you can play with someone who didn't buy the game. Using Corpo logic they'd assume they should have sold at least 40M copies, but I'd suspect it would have sold far far less than 20M if that wasn't the case.
