Gosh, another whiny community. Steam needs to do something to stop review bombing. Legitimate feedback should go through the proper channels.

I like Shawn Layden, but he's definitely wrong here, so I'm glad he isn't still the CEO. Sony's blockbuster games are what they do better than anyone else. It's their competitive advantage.

I am genuinely surprised the PlayStation 4 did not outsell both Xboxes.

Sony decided they wanted $10 from me. Well played.

The success is deserved. The game is a banger and they did everything right with it.

I sort of agree, but there are way too many dumb consumers out there and it will affect us all.

If you're impatient, you end up paying for it. It's even sillier to pay more for early access. I will leave you with immortal words of wisdom that have been my compass for many years:

"If you buy a game at launch, you are paying the most amount of money for the worst version of a game." -TotalBiscuit

It would have been better if this released around Halloween. Horror films seem to do better around that time.

What strange hill to die on. You can buy the stand and disc drive if you want them. Is the problem that Sony is not selling an $800 model with those included?

Could the gameplay be something like Heavy Rain or the Dark Pictures Anthology? I like that style of game.

Shhh. We're only supposed to speak negatively of the PS5 Pro so as to not enrage those that do not understand market forces.

This game went from not interesting me at all to becoming highly interesting. I hope they stick the landing.

I was able to get a PS5 Pro order in at Target. It isn't much, but I got a 5% discount that way.

The price wasn't right on this one.

100% this, which is why it is particularly infuriating when Microsoft uses their poor business decisions as justification for buying up large swathes of the gaming market.

Nah. The problem isn't either. It's the people who buy from scalpers.

Games Workshop's attention to detail is a large part of why Warhammer 40K content is always consistent. I appreciate that.

I wish they would have done this worldwide.

A nice selection. They are not live for the U.S. yet, but when they are, I'll definitely download WWE 2K24 for the showcase mode.

I'd rather it not sell out because if it does, it means:
A) Sony cannot keep up with demand, which is bad for business and consumers
B) Scalpers will have more power.

It's a bizarre choice for Square-Enix to turn down free advertising, but they are not known for making smart decisions.

Eh. It was mostly folks who are not the target audience of the PS5 Pro being loud and complaining and physical media fans in existential crisis mode. Those of us who are the target audience and are logical enough to understand the price makes sense will either buy the PS5 Pro if they want or they won't. It is simply another option on the market for those that want their games to play better and there's nothing wrong with that.

The requirement of a PSN account and the limit of 1 per user definitely helped prevent scalping.

I want to buy it from Target for that 5% off! It isn't much, but it covers 2/3 of sales tax, which is good for me.

If it weren't for California (and the European Union), a lot of the U.S. would be so much worse than it is now. Good ol' California often passes sensible laws that companies follow and apply across the whole country since it is the most populous and powerful state.

Just recently California passed the Click to Cancel law. My backwards state won't ever do anything like that, so I'm hoping we get the benefits of California's law.

As a financial analyst (though, not for a gigantic international entertainment company like Sony), I think Sony should have just eaten the price increase from the weakness of the yen.They would have made a lot more money from software and services than they are now and, even more importantly, wouldn't cede ground to a competitor, which will cost them exponentially more over time.

From the start, I said Sony had an opportunity to either make $10 or $0 from me. Luckily, they made the right decision for both of us.

Sony had the choice to either get $10 or $0 out of me and they chose wisely.
