You certainly speak the truth, but I like having a disc drive just so I can play anything I want and I'm not limited to digital media. I've been buying only digital games for over a decade on console and almost two decades on PC, but I still like to have a disc drive.

I mean, they could just charge you more and include the disc drive. Maybe they will do that in addition to a model without, but I suspect they will release consoles for less money without a disc drive since they sell the drive separately. Giving folks the choice and an upgrade path seems more pro-consumer than you are saying.

That is definitely a nice selection. Like @MickOnYourFace, I am not into the sport of baseball, but I enjoy the games when I do play them. I will give this one a whirl. Since my wife and daughter love Harry Potter, maybe they will play Quidditch Champions.

Indeed. I rarely pre-order games and typically only do so when I want a statue or something in limited supply (Spider-Man 2 and Space Marine 2). There have been five exceptions over the past decade:

Final Fantasy Rebirth because it came with the previous game, which I didn't own yet.

God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök because I absolutely adore the God of War series and it is what got me into PlayStation in the first place.

C&C Remastered because the first game was so very impactful for me. It was the first RTS I ever played and I managed to buy it on accident. It started my love for RTS games.

Astro Bot because I know the game is going to be great and I wanted to send a message!

The free-to-play business model utilizer by competing games is mostly to blame, not Concord's quality. It's hard to compete with "free" and gamers' expectations that have been influenced by so many games being free-to-play.

Well done. China is a huge gaming market that is mostly untapped and the Chinese are undoubtedly eating this up.

I appreciate Sony spending their money doing this. It's a far better strategy than what those other guys are doing.

Starship Troopers Extermination looks very fun, so I'm interested. I don't see myself ceasing to play Helldivers 2 anytime soon, however. The game is just immense fun.

It just goes to show Xbox getting $80B to buy a bunch of studios and two major publishers was really a monkey's paw. Phil got what he wanted, but also got all the scrutinity of the shareholders and the Microsoft CEO, which really took a lot of power out of his hands.

I feel bad for developers sometimes. Gamers are so entitled and the worst of us are so vocal. I see it daily with Helldivers 2. People attacking and constantly berating other people because they don't like a change made to a weapon or something else actually inconsequential. Embarrassing.

Already sold and they have my money! Send me my game and statue immediately, if not sooner.

Final Fantasy 16 is a great game.

Now, if I can put Helldivers 2 down long enough to play Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, that would be great.

It's extremely embarrassing. These crazies go ballistic over every change Arrowhead makes. Granted, there have been some changes I have not liked, but it's Arrowhead's game and their vision. They make the game how they want to and I can either play it or not. Getting angry about it and throwing a tantrum is just ridiculous.

No upgrade path = no money from me.

Dark Souls 2 was very good. People hated it because Miyazaki didn't direct it. Most people probably couldn't even tell and jumped on the hate bandwagon. I could tell it was different because the world was less connected than with the Souls games before it, but that was a minor thing, not the existential crisis the "fans" would have you believe.

That stuff works for me, but, anyway, the outcry is not about those things. It's about flame weapons being reigned in. Before that, it was about the quasar cannon getting a longer cooldown, so it would stop being overpowered. The biggest outcry by far was people upset they had to do what they agreed to and create a PSN account. There is too much whining. So, yeah, it's embarrassing.

I have been playing the game since launch with my brother and my friends and it has been in great fun. All these people crying after every change Arrowhead makes need to stop being babies. It's truly embarrassing.

If you buy from scalpers, you are the reason scalpers exist.

I don't understand why people cannot just enjoy themselves. The game is gun. No longer being able to melt a charger with the flamethrower has not made me want to rage against the game. I'm still having fun. I think it's just the people who want to be overpowered instead of having some semblance of skill that are having issues.

It's a beautiful controller and I would totally have gotten it if I did not have too many controllers already. I bought two Spider-Man 2 controllers plus the three original DualSense controllers I have.

I remember really being interested in this game. The music in the trailer was a banger, too.

Them's fightin' words!! I love the series. The characters and the unique skills and skill trees are great. Honestly, I don't like all the driving around, but aside from that, the games are great. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a nice spin-off that cuts out a lot of the stuff I don't like, while also catering to those who play tabletop RPGs.

Warhammer 40,000 is my favorite setting. This quote is from one of the Warhammer 40,000 books:

It doesn't make sense. The games might not be specifically first party, which, for some reason, people think is the only thing that counts, but the PS5 has plenty of great exclusives and many of them from this year. We got Helldivers 2 and Final Fantasy Rebirth so close to each other for example and they are both top tier.

Helldivers 2 is the gift that keeps on giving.

I would love for the studio to expand and make more games, but not at the risk of fewer God of War games. I need more.

Sony had to buy Bungie before Microsoft did. Microsoft already bought Bethesda and was in the process with Activision-Blizzard at that point. With Bungie being a private company, Microsoft could partake in their favorite pasttime of skirting around the regulators.

I suppose I should play the Skywalker Saga with my daughter. No excuse now.

Oddly, the U.S. store lists the Portal as a "deal" selling at full price. I see that it is labeled appropriately on the E.U. store. I'll continue to wait for a true deal on that.

Maybe I am missing something. There are many things labeled with a "deal" tag on the PlayStation Direct store, but are not discounted at all. The Portal, for example, says it's a deal, but it is still $200.

I am also incredibly surprised there are some Spider-Man 2 collector's editions available still approaching a year after launch. That is wild. I never pre-order games unless there is some sort of collectible I must have, like the Venom statue in this case or the statue with Space Marine 2. If I knew I could just buy the collector's edition whenever, I would not have pre-ordered (because pre-ordering is all-around a dumb idea and sends the wrong message).
