Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?

redd214

I'll readily admit it's "expensive" but I'm still getting one at launch. Gaming is really the only hobby I invest in and with not really having to buy many games anymore my gaming war chest is pretty stout thankfully. I'm sure people like me are an extreme minority but I think it's worth it.

@jrt87 flipping a current slim takes off half the price easily. No need for a disc drive here so really not that big of a cost incurred to upgrade. Glad there are options for everyone!

Played for few hours and it's decent enough nothing spectacular. Back on board the Desiny train at the moment and really only enough time for one live service looters at a time. I'm sure I'll revisit in the future

Re: PlayStation Likely to Go All-Digital By PS7, Analyst Predicts

redd214

It's inevitable at this point. I've been 95% digital for years now so not really a big deal for me personally. I think the big 2 want this to happen sooner than later and are just waiting to see who goes all in first to take all the heat. As long as the account system is strong I don't have any issue with it but I'm sure many will. Ah well like I said this is inevitable.

That being said these "analysts" are idiots overall. Remember Patcher saying 360/PS3 was going to be the last console generation lol 😂

Re: $70 Games Are Just a Phase, Believes Saber Interactive CEO

redd214

@__Seraph precisely. The first game I remember buying with my own money was Street Fighter 2 on the SNES for 70 bucks in the early/mid 90s. Compare that to Tekken 8 which I also bought for 70 a couple months ago and the value for dollar is astronomically different.

It's always slightly comical to me when this topic rolls around every year so.

@IslandLogic most of what you listed are totally optional and can be easily avoided. There is so much access to information about games at this ppint that's it's equally optional to buy a game at launch at $70 if you're aware it's broken/"unplayable".

In addition games go on sale shockingly quickly especially on the physical side nowadays, sometimes selling for less than retail before launch.
