Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Wishlisting Available on PS5 Ahead of Capcom Showcase

Uncharted2007

I've never played Dragon's Dogma, but the only thing I want to see from Capcom during their show is a reboot or remake of Dino Crisis with Regina. Merge the first two games into one adventure.

  • Keep the suspense of the first.
  • Keep the action of the second.
  • Ignore the third.
  • Use RE Engine
  • Add co-op a la RE5 (Regina and Dylan)

That's the dream. I'd be happy with a mere reboot or remake though.

Uncharted2007

I'll give it the Okay. Not a great showing, but better than what Sony had to offer. FF7 Rebirth was the big one for me regardless that we all knew it was coming. My son will probably enjoy that new Sonic game. The MK1 footage was good, but I'll still hold on buying that till a Komplete version.

Uncharted2007

As I've stated before, Capcom isn't what it used to be... at least for me. They used to have incredible IPs all over the place and half of them are dead. Even their one-offs like Shadow of Rome (PS2) and Haunting Ground (PS2) were incredibly fun to play. I get that younger gamers think they're incredible at the moment, and they aren't bad. It's just that the rest of the industry has been so stale, that it's difficult for Capcom to really fail when they deliver a solid single player experience. I feel younger gamers missed an era and often refuse to go back to it due to not being HD.

Moving forward, I'll be interested to see how ExoPrimal does because that's Capcom trying to jump in to what the rest of the industry is doing and I think it's going to be their first big misstep in the last few years.

@johncalmc It's not a stretch to say most of America doesn't care about basketball either. American football replaced baseball as the sport of choice probably around the 80's or 90's? I've only recently gotten into soccer as my son now plays in the little leagues and I've enjoyed hockey.

I'm pretty happy with Jurassic being added. I've had my eye on that one since the first, but just never got around to it. Trek to Yomi had my attention as well.

Anyone know if the PS Plus discounts are active? It won't list prices beyond what it will cost to upgrade to the other tiers.

@Fuzzymonkeyfunk Yes. I'm going to the theater far less these days. I even skipped out on GotG 3 this time having seen the previous two in theaters as well as John Wick 4 and Dungeons & Dragons. I'd have loved to see all of them in theaters as the movie industry is finally picking back up, but I have little time and taking a family of five to the movies even for just the one movie would be $100+ a go. I'd have taken my wife to see John Wick 4, but she's not a fan of the theater. So it makes no financial or logical sense to see every movie I enjoy on the big screen.

For Spiderverse 2, it's simply the two-parter problem. I did the same with the Hobbit knowing it would be a trilogy, but I waited till the third was in theaters to bother watching the first. I got burned with the first Lord of the Rings, Matrix 2, and a few others. So I decided from then on, to simply wait for the story to be completed.
