I've never played Dragon's Dogma, but the only thing I want to see from Capcom during their show is a reboot or remake of Dino Crisis with Regina. Merge the first two games into one adventure.
Keep the suspense of the first.
Keep the action of the second.
Ignore the third.
Use RE Engine
Add co-op a la RE5 (Regina and Dylan)
That's the dream. I'd be happy with a mere reboot or remake though.
This is a good thing if they know the file size is going to be that big. This is how it should be. If you buy a physical game, don't make it so you have a 50GB download as soon as you open the package.
I'll give it the Okay. Not a great showing, but better than what Sony had to offer. FF7 Rebirth was the big one for me regardless that we all knew it was coming. My son will probably enjoy that new Sonic game. The MK1 footage was good, but I'll still hold on buying that till a Komplete version.
FF7 Rebirth as we thought it was going to be is scrapped. It'll now just be a side scrolling platformer using the Cloud character model from Smash Bros.
@PSXDave Just play the 2002 RE Remake. It was released for PS4 in HD and holds up to early PS4 era given the prerendered backgrounds. Obviously not the same quality as RE2 Remake, but it's still really well done.
I'm not a fan of the subs. I recently reupped my regular PS Plus so I could keep playing with a couple friends/family. I occasionally get a nice surprise for the "free" games of the month. Just got Jurassic Park so pretty happy with that. I'll get around to it after I beat Zelda.
As I've stated before, Capcom isn't what it used to be... at least for me. They used to have incredible IPs all over the place and half of them are dead. Even their one-offs like Shadow of Rome (PS2) and Haunting Ground (PS2) were incredibly fun to play. I get that younger gamers think they're incredible at the moment, and they aren't bad. It's just that the rest of the industry has been so stale, that it's difficult for Capcom to really fail when they deliver a solid single player experience. I feel younger gamers missed an era and often refuse to go back to it due to not being HD.
Moving forward, I'll be interested to see how ExoPrimal does because that's Capcom trying to jump in to what the rest of the industry is doing and I think it's going to be their first big misstep in the last few years.
@Ear_wiG Yep. I'm an OG fan. I don't care about most of Marvel or DC characters, but Ninja Turtles... those guys have always been at the top for me with a few laughably bad renditions.
Another idea, given the bird character in the screenshot above, they could add Ace, a duck pilot with a bomber jacket.
@Ear_wiG Mondo Gecko comes to mind as a possibility as a character addition. They could also add Mona Lisa. While unlikely, I think the comic version of Alopex would be welcome.
I upgraded with a 1TB Seagate Firecuda last year during a Black Friday sale. Given the way the industry is these days and so few games capturing my attention, I think I'm good for the rest of the generation.
My wife picked up the first on Switch for like $15. It looked and played like a PS2 game but released 20 years later. I have no idea why a sequel would be warranted. Is the new movie releasing soon?
Maybe preorders are a thing of the past? Seriously. If such a high percentage of gamers buy digitally anymore, why preorder a digital game? There are infinite copies of it.
Disney is one of the many massive disappointments of the last five years. My support for their products will be minimal for the rest of my life and will more than likely had to have existed before 2018 in some manner. Then and only then, will I check each on a case by case basis to see if it's worth my money.
@RonLonDonSwan I still have my magnifier. lol. It was the contrast that always got me. Being off just a little would potentially wash out half the color in the wrong lighting. Been wanting to do the McWIll screen mod on the thing but I can't justify $200 for it.
I'm holding off on FF16 for now. Wanting to play the demo.
For June, the only must have for me is the physical Sonic Origins Plus. Wanting to revisit those Game Gear games in HD regardless that I still have them on my actual Game Gear.
@johncalmc It's not a stretch to say most of America doesn't care about basketball either. American football replaced baseball as the sport of choice probably around the 80's or 90's? I've only recently gotten into soccer as my son now plays in the little leagues and I've enjoyed hockey.
I'm pretty happy with Jurassic being added. I've had my eye on that one since the first, but just never got around to it. Trek to Yomi had my attention as well.
Anyone know if the PS Plus discounts are active? It won't list prices beyond what it will cost to upgrade to the other tiers.
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk Yes. I'm going to the theater far less these days. I even skipped out on GotG 3 this time having seen the previous two in theaters as well as John Wick 4 and Dungeons & Dragons. I'd have loved to see all of them in theaters as the movie industry is finally picking back up, but I have little time and taking a family of five to the movies even for just the one movie would be $100+ a go. I'd have taken my wife to see John Wick 4, but she's not a fan of the theater. So it makes no financial or logical sense to see every movie I enjoy on the big screen.
For Spiderverse 2, it's simply the two-parter problem. I did the same with the Hobbit knowing it would be a trilogy, but I waited till the third was in theaters to bother watching the first. I got burned with the first Lord of the Rings, Matrix 2, and a few others. So I decided from then on, to simply wait for the story to be completed.
My son absolutely loved the first movie, but this is stated to be a two-parter. As I hate having no ending, this will wait until part 2 hits theaters. Then, I'll buy him part 1 on disc and we'll go see part 2 in theaters. So... another year?

@gonzilla Appreciate it. Got signed up.
Re: Tekken 8 Closed Beta Test Confirmed for PS5, and You Need to Register Quick
Interesting. Doesn't look like the beta will be available to Americans after checking for it on the US site. Maybe I missed it though?
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Finally Has a Release Date on PS5
Happy to hear Sony can't use this title as their crutch after 2023.
Re: Sony Will Not Attend Giant German Convention Gamescom This Year
Thus solidifying they have nothing to show, even after their own disastrous "showcase".
I think Playstation has become Xbox from the 360 era. They have little to show and are relying on 3rd parties. It's quite sad.
Re: Quantic Dream Publishing Submerged Adventure Game Under the Waves in August
This one actually looked interesting. I'll keep my eye for a discounted physical edition later down the road.
Re: Try Not to Cringe Over Twisted Metal's Television Show

This is such a weird grouping of "reveals" for a game. Oddest way to go about building hype I've ever seen.

Usagi is a favorite character so I'm really happy about this. Day one for me.

I mean... isn't Rebirth essentially disc 2? Remake ends basically where disc 1 ended. 🤔
